Just checking in, it's been a quiet couple of days. Yesterday I had my PT session and also went for a drive to walk around a local nature reserve. Certainly timed it badly as they were dredging the pond so it was noisy as anything! Ended up having lunch out as a little treat on my week off. Today has been a NSD, I went to the gym this morning and also walked my friend's dogs. I've got 99% of the jobs that needed doing done, not sure I can be bothered with the last one (touching up paint everywhere, maybe that can wait until another day). My back has finally stopped hurting after months of chronic pain so I don't want to push it too much, just grateful for being pain free.

OH and I are going to look at a van tomorrow and probably buy it, it's not viable to spend another £1,500 on the van he has (it also has other stuff that needs fixing as well). He has half the money in savings and I've done a 0% money transfer from my credit card for the rest. It's not ideal but we think it's our best option.

Worked today. Won't bore you with today's shennanigans.

No money spent though. Did sell an item on ebay yesterday so I posted that today but that wasn't my money.

DH has brought home a huge bag of Card Factory gift bags that were being chucked in a skip, there must be 100 of them and that was just one of multiple bags - crazy and it makes me really angry. We have saved a few and the rest will be donated to the CS if they want them.

Phoned b'n'q to tell them about the abandoned trolley - they will send someone to collect it. Took 4 books back to the library and also put a few tins in the food bank box. Chemist did not pick up so walked to the shop. Blister pack person busy so signed the form and left with a promise that they would phone me this afternoon.

Prolonged trawl around the shops in search of replacement curtain pole and new (heavier, thicker) curtains mum wants but no joy (apart from the increased walking). Did buy next year's diary + a small non-essential but good for my mental health purchase. Frustrating though because there are things on my list but passed those shops because I couldn't carry anything besides the curtains and didn't have the time or energy to go back.

Taxi to mum's, brief rest to get my breath back then checked on my coir compost (added more water) then planted out about half the pansies before the van with the bed arrived. One man and two young lads with no idea how the bed went together (never done one of that type before) but we more or less worked it out between us.

I was kneeling on the floor to help, put out one hand to hold onto something to aid getting up but it was the room door and it swung and I pitched forward and banged my head on the bed rail. Put a hand on the radiator to steady myself and it came off the wall - screws and rawlplugs (modern buildings).

Men assured me that man from the shop would come out on his little scooter and check the bed, if i needed him. After they had gone I found a small pack of bolts - not sure if they had used a different bolt for part of the assembly. Found the phone number and shop man will come tomorrow (little scooter is poorly but getting a new one tomorrow). Phoned Mr and Mrs Builder and left a message about the radiator and my bath problem.

Chemist finally phoned and I think mum is poorly enough to continue receiving blister packs. Told mum i would be leaving early (it is my day off) but would wait until the school rush was over. Lots of me hurts and I am very tired. Back at mum's tomorrow for more gardening, bed making. painting and possibly furniture moving (got mum to explain her plan for the living room incorporating a new 'yet to be found' table and 2 dining chairs). Pretty sure it won't work but have introduced the concept of being flexible.

Mum is still insisting she 'needs' four wooden chairs but the cleaner and I have persuaded her to let the one in her bedroom go and use one of the 'keepers' in it's place. Heavy table and 3 chairs now hiding in the yard under the garden swing cover. Pretty sure there will not be room for the 4 chairs she is insisting on keeping (there are 6 garden chairs which fold flat, if we ever have a seating crisis) just as there is no room for the two sets of drawers alongside the bed in the ex 'dining room'.

Today I am grateful for the bargain bed (the 'sides' weren't on in the shop - two solid wood bars on each side which can be lowered to make getting into bed easy then raised to prevent falling out of the bed), for the pansies mostly having revived after a good drink (paid £1 or 50p for packs which had been £2) and for walking more.

  • Youch! to your injuries, mothernerd. They must hurt. And you're going back for more tomorrow...?!

Today I am grateful for getting up early to do a workout (cos I really didn't want to do it when I got home), for a nice day at work, for good weather, for dd feeling better about school, for a choice of leftovers for tea, for yet more sainz vouchers, for writing a couple of important emails.

mothernerd - oh dear, hope your head isn't too badly bumped. Today you need a sit down with a nice cuppa, no excuses - I insist.

Dropped a bag at the charity shop yesterday but they did say they weren't able to take any more clothing donations but when I said it was a couple of winter jumpers and a winter coat they took it. Had a look around and thought why don't they just put all the summer stuff on a rail for £1, they would sell loads and clear some space - seems crazy to me, the window for selling floaty sleeveless tops is shortening by the day.

Work again today, I do seem to have a skill for working on the most gorgeous days. Stripped our bed and am hoping to get the bedding on the line before I leave for work.

Today I will spend some money.
    I think.
I am quite excited by the idea of allowing myself to spend money.

So will remain on NSD11, unless I don't.
    The end.

Thank you dolly but not sure it will happen. I am rescuing little animals as I had a sudden panic about all the things I have to do. Not remotely possible so calming myself then I can decide what is a priority eg I want some things (medical but may get led astray especially if they have the little metal buckets) from the pound emporium.

Not drastically urgent but one of those things that keeps falling off the bottom of the list. I hate going in there at weekends so may go there. More planting/ moving pots (may walk and take the dolly) and painting (found the spare wellies behind the dining room table - mum want them painting and planting up). Have decided we (I) am just going to use up the current tin and anything else can wait until Spring.

I am aware of some aches and pains so not going to do too much (no 5 hours of muttering 'I will not cry' to myself) especially as I need and want to get some of the stuff at home done. I have expended so much energy on mum's stuff that when i am home I just want to curl in a ball and rest.

Today i am grateful for walking further, being able to stand up to wash and dry myself and for Mr and Mrs Builder who i know are very busy but are going to come out on Saturday to fix mum's radiator and look at my bath.

    Hi turtles

Well annoyed as chest infection feels worse today. Thought it was clearing up.

Put a Charity bag and it never got collected, annoying as it made me late for work yesterday putting extras in.

Hardly any sleep last night nevermind the weekend nearly here. Got grandkids tomorrow so will have to do food shop on way home. Plan to take them to local zoo for a few hours, good kids park there which should hopefully get them worn out.

Trying to catch up on paying credit cards off today small smounts but it all helps. Few pounds in from surveys and quidco helping.

Mothernerd you do too much. Rest up if you can a little.

    Grateful for
Lots of lovely neighbours, even though yesterday It took up my afternoon off, collecting a couple and helping another with a job. They are so nice hard to say No to.

Sunny weather tomorrow forecast. Inside all day today.

After a morning shopping in search of odd items I walked in to mum's and announced that I was going to have a drink, read my book, have something to eat and chop my veg (poor things are so dizzy - they have been back and forth in my rucksack all week). If she was very good I might let her look at some curtains. Then after the man had been to check the bed and work out where the extra screws should be, I would consider doing some painting, only if I felt fine.

So mum has a pyrex dish full of veg for soup and some carrots and a few celery sticks. I have celery sticks and spring onions for dips, leeks for soup, chunky coleslaw to eat by the bowlful with a drizzle of dressing and fine coleslaw to put with prawns. Man checked the bed and put in the extra screws. I have moved one plant pot and watered two.

Think it is still too hot to paint out there (I only wanted to do it to see if I had to buy another tin of paint before that disappears in favour of the Hallowmas stuff (B**ts had cleared their end aisle yesterday). But now am only using this tin up and will wait until Spring - just as long as I paint the blasted wellies.

Today I am grateful for healthy veg, for time to relax (a bit) and for finding some useful curtain hooks.
