    Morning!
Still here, sciatica has resurfaced, but not much else to report. So I am disappearing into books (superhero skill) and avoiding sunlight - I got a badly sunburnt neck V at school sportsday on Thursday and it is still red and sorry looking. So much for cloudy with showers!

Looks like it is going to be hot for the next week (even when wet) so going to concentrate on cleaning house before the school hols - 14 school days left -

parents! - check your term dates!! ours have only just been changed, so term now ends on Thursday not Friday.

Yesterday was NSD3 and today will be NSD4

Forget to mention earlier that we rescued a chair last weekend from the side of the road, it's a solid wood 30's style, we carried it home and it weighed a ton, yesterday we sanded off the varnish and oiled it then recovered the seat, we had everything in we needed so there were no additional spends. I will post a photo if I can.

    Hello Everyone

Just popping in to say "Hello" after my holiday. Been waving the poms poms but the lycra is now well and truly stretched to capacity.

Came back to the usual nonsense of mail

    1) Three from the council re gas safety check (absolutely necessary, I agree). Didn't receive the first one as it arrived after I went away, second advising me that they might force entry to the house as I hadn't kept the appointment that I knew nothing about and third saying this was my final warning to let them gain access. A bit excessive, I think. Shall be phoning them tomorrow but not at all pleased at the tone of their correspondence.

    2) Letter from Health Centre wanting to know why I hadn't booked an appointment for for Hypertension Review. Well. because i did phone and they couldn't give me an appointment because they don't do them more than three weeks in advance and I was going on holiday.

    3) Letter from some meter reading company who wanted a reading for my electricity. It was given to them before I went away. Letter was at least ten days after we left.

Plus the usual nonsense from banks, etc.

Anyway we had a lovely holiday although I once again found myself cooking breakfast and dinner for people and fitting in with everyone else's plans ie spending too much time in the pub. Really must be a lot more assertive.

Everyone seems to be doing really well but hugs of support to anyone who feels they are a little behind on their goals.

Three loads of washing done and hanging out and lots to do this week. Huge, huge list.

Hope you have all had a good weekend.
Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.

Lauren – Sorry to hear about your aunt.
Dolly – Great news about your job extension.
f0xh0les – Hope you had a nice birthday.
Hugs to those in need of them.
    NSD's are now 18/20.
    Sorry I have been AWOL.
Had scan last week and seeing a consultant on Tuesday. One thing has been crossed off as to what the issue could be.
Still trying my best at going for a walk each day. Did go to Park run yesterday.
Have been on the computer games, so must stop them.
Went round a friend's yesterday for quite a few hours.
Must stay focused for the rest of the month.

Greent - glad the wedding went well - hope that any family 'issues' were put aside for the day. Also hope your sis gets well soon. And your back too. And f0xh0les' sciatica as well.

Misstara - do you know what causes your IBS to flare up?

Dolly - the chair sounds a real find.

Welcome home toni'sfriend. Thank you for waving the pompoms for us!

Kerry Woman -I've been back on the computer game too. I, too, really should learn to put it down!

Today I am grateful for a lovely peaceful day, for getting 2 loads of washing done, for good food, for time with dh and dd, for getting some marking done, for bagging up some stuff to leave the house, for dd enjoying the party she went to.

    Hi all:j

Minimise: Up early ish & minimised some more of the grass from hell... tied up the rasperries again & put up baby gate to keep the beasts off the cleared patch. Also minimised the clothing hell by selling 2 items..

Bills Looking to get some secondary DG on our old windows to help with heating this place. This will be a long-term project IMHO. To that end:

Clutter: Lots to clear before even survey to do windows could be organised. Keeping going with the clutter, a little every day. I WILL get this house cleared. More clearing done, hoping that the 'puddles' will eventually join into a lake..will do another bit after this post. Trying to do a little each day, will do some more now. See minimising above - as I sold 2 items, not much but all helps. Had hoped to sell something more valuable but think post declined, but don't know why...sigh..

Spending: Need to budget for groceries. Starting with £300 including pet food. Have receipt ready to file, but about £35/300. Was going to be an NSD but had to pay for a book, then had a voucher expiring for 25% off ferry crossing so booked trip for November. Used CB as well so came in very cheaply. None today.

Unnecessary spends: Not as such although book could be classed as such, as holiday also. Is necessary though, or will be by November..No spends today.

Waste: No waste today, Used up some very sprouty spuds to make potato salad & made a quiche with bacon offcuts.

    Maximise:
Dreams (dream big): Would like to fit the DG as mentioned earlier, also need the driveway doing but would be a very large amount of cash as it's so big....Clearing the clutter will help enormously with this, both financially & in the long term. Outside painting needed now, will be a big job & need scaffolding. This again will be £££. Sold 2 DVDs & was paid for those. Was paid again for the DVDs - will have to refund though..Aim to sell some items tomorrow as it is forecast to be sunny - so can photograph things & also people more inclined to buy summer clothing...that's the theory anyhow! Did at least get some things photographed/listed & 2 sales so far.

Fruit and veg intake: Definitely need to increase F&V consumption, on this. Fruit eaten & some veg incorporated into supper. Same again today. Not much f&V today but still some. need to incorporate more though.

Getting niggly jobs done: Painting inside & out, get builder to fit cowl on chimneys, get chimney swept, painting outside as well. All our jobs are niggly, but DH did get some outstanding ones done. Need to cut down some vegetation at gate as DH scraped the old car as the gate won't now fully open, so now a Priority. Also a couple of little jobs for DH, flushed with his success with the DW he may be amenable. Which is appropriate as one of them is tightening the toilet seat.... He actually cut down the stuff at the gate today.

Health: Lose approx. a stone & a half. Am trying with this, helps that DD is not here. Feel slimmer - does that count? Weigh in shows no loss - no gain either though! Still on it. Not too bad today although made scones & ate one. Scone may have been eaten again. Hmm Tonight was a doughnut & DD brought back cake from her friends house party.

Meal Planning: Need to meal plan as tend to go with the flow, and it doesn't always work out. Have plenty of food in but still need to plan. Have a vague plan for tomorrow but need to clear fridges to check on supplies.

Moving more - Most exercise taken as gardening. Todays exercise was digging & housework

Time with those you love: DH & DD today, plus the animals.

    NSD: now 13/15

Misstara - do you know what causes your IBS to flare up?

Hi apple, I know what the usual triggers are for me and avoid them (gluten, dairy, certain fruit and veg and weirdly having alcohol and spicy food at the same time :rotfl:) but every now and again I have a bad flare up that lasts for weeks and just seems to come from nowhere. The last one was about 18 months ago so it doesn't happen often thankfully.

Friday was my only NSD of the weekend, which takes me to 11 for the month. As always, my aim is to allow me my weekdays to be NSD's, which I feel prepared for but no doubt something will crop up.

Another no sleep night, just going to carry on until I drop now. Not sure where I am on NSDs but am massively over budget on food - I was presented with a list by DS3 and Beloved and only added a few items for myself ( a cabbage, celery, watercress, wholemeal buns and drinks I think). Their list put me off thinking about food, quite frankly, but at least it's healthier than them having takeaways all the time.

I know I need to do a well thought out food shop for myself at some point but unsure whether I should keep using the limited options I have in stock. In two weeks I will be away, so I could possibly manage.

Today I am grateful for bird song, for excellent reading and my ankle feeling stronger due to all the propping up (oh and had a wonderful bath yesterday, worth the effort of getting myself out of it - 3 attempts).
My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.

Misstara I find Peppermint tea really helps my IBS, I have a few mugs a day & it works wonders! Might not help you, but worth a try.

Today is NSD number 13. yesterday I spent nothing & nothing planned for today. It is my aunts funeral tomorrow so I will be spending then & I will call in on our way home to do a shop!
went through our garden toys yesterday, cleaned them off & sold them on facebook, made £35 but as these belong to the kids I will give them the cash, we have a few days out planned over summer & no doubt they will see things they want so at least they have their own money then! Also, it clears up space in our garden!
I needed to order another swimming badge for my son as I sew them all on to his towel & I lost his last one, but I spoke to his teacher who had a spare- saved me a pound, not a great deal but still.
Still plugging away with fruit teas & easter eggs while trying to eat healthily- weigh in tomorrow.

Grateful for -DS doing really well with potty training, My eldest doing a fab dive at swimming lesson and for getting responses & closing off a few things on my to sort list!
