    Hi all:j

    Minimise:
Some fur from the dogs....all now blowing their coats. Defunct lamp from living room.

Bills Looking to get some secondary DG on our old windows to help with heating this place. This will be a long-term project IMHO. To that end:

Clutter: Lots to clear before even survey to do windows could be organised. Keeping going with the clutter, a little every day. I WILL get this house cleared. More clearing done, hoping that the 'puddles' will eventually join into a lake..will do another bit after this post. Trying to do a little each day although very tired tonight. DH out most of day tomorrow so that will help. Got into living room & managed to vac under sofa cushions. Revelation - a ton of missing cutlery - & the wallpapering scissors missing since we went away in May...

Spending: Need to budget for groceries. Starting with £300 including pet food. Have receipt ready to file, but about £35/300. Was going to be an NSD but had to pay for a book, then had a voucher expiring for 25% off ferry crossing so booked trip for November. Used CB as well so came in very cheaply. None today.

Unnecessary spends Not as such although book could be classed as such, as holiday also. Is necessary though, or will be by November..No spends today.

    Waste: No waste today

    Maximise:
Dreams (dream big): Would like to fit the DG as mentioned earlier, also need the driveway doing but would be a very large amount of cash as it's so big....Clearing the clutter will help enormously with this, both financially & in the long term. Outside painting needed now, will be a big job & need scaffolding. This again will be £££. Sold 2 DVDs & was paid for those. Was paid again for the DVDs - will have to refund though..

Fruit and veg intake: Definitely need to increase F&V consumption, on this. Fruit eaten & some veg with supper.

Getting niggly jobs done Painting inside & out, get builder to fit cowl on chimneys, get chimney swept, painting outside as well. All our jobs are niggly, but DH did get some outstanding ones done. Still need to see if the DW will work with the new hose he bought x weeks ago...will remind him yet again tomorrow. Perpetual problem, will remind again although he's out all day tomorrow. Maybe he will have a go on Friday. Reminded him tonight, said remind him again tomorrow

Health: Lose approx. a stone & a half. Am trying with this, helps that DD is not here. Feel slimmer - does that count? Weigh in shows no loss - no gain either though! Still on it. Not too bad today although made scones & ate one.

Meal Planning: Need to meal plan as tend to go with the flow, and it doesn't always work out. Have plenty of food in but still need to plan. Still need to sort rest of week depending on who is here.

Moving more - Most exercise taken as gardening. Todays exercise was gardening & housework.

Time with those you love: DH & DD today, plus the animals.

    NSD: now 10/15

Mothernerd - I imagine that getting used to the Darth Vader contraption at night is really tricky. But I'm glad it's working for you at least some of the time.

I have woken to sunshine and the forecast is dry for the next 2 days, which is a relief. It's my school fair tomorrow (I have my stall!) and dd is also going to the scout centre for activities and a bonfire, and dry would be good.

I have decided to knit some posies/flowers for dd's teachers this year as it's her last year there, so I'll dig out my poppy pattern and go from there. Whilst wearing my cape and mask.

thrifty - that is a very expensive BBQ, I don't blame you for saying no.

sashanut - my dog has just started moulting, such a pain.

apple - do you feel emotional about your DD leaving Primary, we were in bits here both times.

Work yesterday and today. Will update properly when I have more time.

Yesterday was number 10 for me and I've no plans to spend today either.

Spendy day planned tomorrow as I've a to-do list the length of my arm, some of which require some spends unfortunately. Needs must. It should hold me till the end of the month at least.

It's at on an estate and it's meant to be not just your bog standard bbq but also buffet etc. We'll see if it's any good. Managed to get my hands on some free tickets :T:T:money:.

And drum roll.....I think DH had a mini lightbulb moment :j. After the few last days' conversations we had where I was a bit more frank than usual but also rephrased things like rather than saying you need to drink less, I asked what do you think it'll take for us to be ready to move in two years.....anyway long story short, he came back to me saying, yes please sit down and have a chat this weekend and he said he'll look through his statements as he doesn't know exactly where his money is going. Yesterday, he felt embarrassed when he had to decline a invite to a boys trip, had to say he couldn't afford it. The friend asked if he needed a shot of some money and DH answered, no I'll need to sort my spending out.

I'l report back after the weekend, fingers crossed.

Nice one thriftylass, it may well be he is going to get onboard.
Apple - I bet your knitted mask and cape look grand. Good luck with all those animals.

I have managed to end this week with £100 in the kitty, which is odd, as that is my entire budget for the week, and it is all still there. I just used what was in my purse and my £40 bonus birthday money and made it work. It will all go towards the windscreen wiper bill, but quite impressed this morning when I checked my bank statement. In one hand, out the other.
Still on NSD2 I need a mask to hide my shame!

Thanks for popping by, chocolatelover. It's always good to see you x.

Dolly - I'm not too bothered about dd leaving primary. She's ready to go and starting afresh is what she wants and needs, with a brand new set of kids. Tho I may get emotional at their leavers' performance...

F0xh0les - I'd not thought about a knitted cape + mask! Everything that needed sewing up has been stitched. Phew. I think I'm ready for the fair...

Today I am grateful for my friends, for the gorgeous poppies in my garden, for my first rasps (from the cane that has only grown to 18 inches!), for some sunshine, for my first attempt at cooking a gammon joint in the slow cooker being a success, for getting oodles of marking done, for dd enjoying school, for being ready for tomorrow's fair, for my knees being better enough for me to tackle a modified workout.

Thriftylass, all the episodes from Til Debt Do Us Part are now on yootoob, maybe it's worthwhile to see a few together? You can check in the comments to each video if it is about a couple that has grown stronger, or that has separated; I only pick the positive ones :)
