Today I am grateful for a quiet day, for being able to walk, for dh meeting up with me, for not getting too wet in the showers, for dd loving her swimming, for sewing up a penguin sock, for dh cooking tea, for dd talking about things that are bothering her.

  • Evening all, here's my update:

Spent a big chunk of today helping a young man who lost his passport at our weekend event. Thanks to the power of Fb a lady who works at Mr T phoned to say that one was handed into the store on Saturday. The young man was 25 minutes drive away so I ran to Mr T and there it was! Rang the young man to collect it. He then turned up at the office and gave me a hug and a bottle of wine :) He is going on holiday tomorrow - it was really nice to be able to help. I'm not a fan of Fb but sometimes it can be a power for good.

On the budget front - all meals from stores. Did some washing and it's drying on the rack. Cheque received from friend for some tickets I bought for us both. Have bought another birthday gift for DD1.

Gratitudes - managed to get out for a walk before the rain; free bottle of wine!; caught up on PT role over lunch.

Hope things get sorted at school dolly - how horrible for you and DD

    Deni xx

    Hi all

Minimise: Minimised a book to CS & sold 2 items which have already been posted.

Bills Looking to get some secondary DG on our old windows to help with heating this place. This will be a long-term project IMHO. To that end:

Clutter: Lots to clear before even survey to do windows could be organised. Keeping going with the clutter, a little every day. I WILL get this house cleared. More clearing done, hoping that the 'puddles' will eventually join into a lake..will do another bit after this post.

Spending: Need to budget for groceries. Starting with £300 including pet food. Have receipt ready to file, but about £35/300. Spending today as weekly shop but did have 2x£5 vouchers off..

Unnecessary spends Just ordered a cert for my FH research so technically not necessary. However, items ordered at the weekend arrived & as predicted will be going straight back..

Waste: No waste today - used up some freezer stock.
    Maximise:
Dreams (dream big): Would like to fit the DG as mentioned earlier, also need the driveway doing but would be a very large amount of cash as it's so big....Clearing the clutter will help enormously with this, both financially & in the long term. Outside painting needed now, will be a big job & need scaffolding. This again will be £££. Sold & posted 2 items.

    Fruit and veg intake:
Definitely need to increase F&V consumption, on this. 3 portions of fruit today but very little veg.

    Getting niggly jobs
done Painting inside & out, get builder to fit cowl on chimneys, get chimney swept, painting outside as well. All our jobs are niggly, but DH did get some outstanding ones done. Still need to see if the DW will work with the new hose he bought x weeks ago...will remind him yet again tomorrow.

Health: Lose approx. a stone & a half. Am trying with this, helps that DD is not here. Feel slimmer - does that count? Weigh in shows no loss - no gain either though!

Meal Planning: Need to meal plan as tend to go with the flow, and it doesn't always work out. Have plenty of food in but still need to plan. Still need to sort rest of week.

Moving more - Most exercise taken as gardening. Todays exercise was shift in CS.

    Time with those you love:
Nice to see friend & catch up.

    NSD: still 9/15

Ah, sorry f0xh0les, I missed it was your birthday the other day. I hope you had a lovely day and no body would blame you if you scuppered a NSD treating yourself to something.

Yesterday was #9 of the month for me. Today could be, if I decide against a potential night out will colleagues tonight. Dinner + a movie. Which shouldn't be expensive on the face of things but they certainly can be, especially the movies these days.

lauren - you are doing so well with the exercise I hope it pays off on the scales but don't be to despondent if it doesn't, take notice of how your clothes feel.

calling - yay to your pension, boo to the sneaky ways the goverment take our pennies.

deni - that was one lucky chap.

The Student Support Officer rang me yesterday, she was really concerned and had all the girls in individually yesterday, DD promises me she has told her the whole story so we will see how things go now.

Early finish at school today for the open evening and then two days off for inset days, I am working but DH is off with the kids, we were supposed to go away camping but I only work Thursday and Friday and don't have the days holiday spare.

Shrewbie - let us know how much of the Camino you get to walk in a week.

I'm hoping to walk the last part which I believe is around 120km from Sarria in Lugo to Santiago de Compostela. I need to do some training though!! and wear in my new hiking shoes and socks.

In reality I have 7 days plus 2 days breathing room so the idea is I won't have to rush!

Didn't manage a SFD today, decided to go to local cinema tonight. Cheap one £6 to see The Keeper wanted to see this for ages. Not as flash at big chain cinemas but cheaper.

Niggly job - bushes in front garden cut yesterday- Happy that one is out of the way as my hands aren't great and always ache after doing that.

Otherwise nothing else to report, need petrol but need to shop around - sneaked up in price.

  • Hi everyone
Been to one of my self employment roles today; ditto tomorrow and Friday. Had a full on meeting and now have 20+ pages of minutes to type up. Got lunch provided and going to eat dinner from stores so this is NSD#5/15!
It's payday tomorrow and i'm well in credit thanks to early payment of self emp invoice & limiting my spending. I shall pay off some of my CCs later (that doesn't count as spending I believe/hope?!)
I have put some washing on the line as it's a nice evening.
Gratitudes - smooth journey to work; free lunch and biscuits too; a dry evening so potentially a walk depending on how my work goes...

    Hope everyone is well
