Today I am grateful for dd sleeping well, for my morning stretches, for headspace, for getting a couple of loads washed and mostly dried outside, for remembering to water/save the fuchsia in a pot that I was only given 3 weeks ago - oops!, for being able to go and see dd at a sports event at her school, for remembering to post big sis' bday present so it'll arrive for her bday.

  • Evening everyone!
been spending on some food supplies over past 2 days but keeping budget planner up to date and all on track so far. Buy eggs from a local farm and they deliver to the door, so they will arrive tomorrow. Tomorrow need to pay for next pilates course and it's gone up for the first time in about 5 years! Have been walking each evening and today I stopped my busy brain for a few minutes and listened to all the different birdsong - it was lovely and relaxing:) I've eaten more veg. My friend has passed my number onto a handyman to see if he can do my ceiling repairs.
I am grateful for - phone call with DD2 who is still at uni; laughing with my work colleague at the ridiculousness of our workplace; messenger chats with my sisters who live 200+ miles away.
Nite everyone and see you tomorrow

    Hi all:j

Sorry didn't get on yesterday as stupid amounts of prep left me tired out.. but all visitors now gone - hurrah!! Lovely to see them, but not all in the same week in future please folks..

    Minimise:

Bills Looking to get some secondary DG on our old windows to help with heating this place. This will be a long-term project IMHO. To that end:

Clutter: Lots to clear before even survey to do windows could be organised. Started in room that visitors are due to be sitting in on Monday..Progress in room 1 including removing some items, installing others. Clearing out fire grate where bird came down, ugh. Shoved old pillow up chimney (we don't light this fire) to stop any further problems until we can get someone to fit some sort of cowls. Got up early as still loads of cleaning to do before visitors arrived, plus baked a cake as well. Still it looked pretty good I think but more to do in the other rooms now DH has informed me he has a) set up an ebay account & b) found his old PayPal ac - in order to start selling things...I have both those things already so no excuse - other than no time atm. No progress today as dealing with visitor - who brought stuff rather than took away...only an orchid though.

Spending: Need to budget for groceries. Starting with £300 including pet food. Spent yesterday in Lidl. And in CS. Have receipt ready to file, but about £32/300

Unnecessary spends Try to avoid shop visits with DD who is an avid consumer. And then I spend when I didn't intend to. DD as ever went to shops but DH went with her - & he doesn't spend anything. No spends for me today. Possibly DD will not be shopping so much in future as her housemate is leaving at the end of the month, so that means a big hole in her - already stretched - finances. No spends today.

Waste: Do try not to waste, especially food but will be on it. Think DH is taking it too far when he is trying to stick together a cereal bowl he just broke - well it will be ok, it's only in 3 pieces. He did stick it together but had to admit defeat when you could still see daylight through it ! Mothernerd I think he just did it to wind up DD, I don't really think he was serious...but you never know! Had to throw away something that got forgotten & consequently had gone 'furry' ugh. Mission to clear out fridge(s) tomorrow, lots lurking in there - not all of it mine. Ate leftovers for supper, leftover buffet will be tomorrow's lunch.

    Maximise:
Dreams (dream big): Would like to fit the DG as mentioned earlier, also need the driveway doing but would be a very large amount of cash as it's so big....Clearing the clutter will help enormously with this, both financially & in the long term. Outside painting needed now, will be a big job & need scaffolding. This again will be £££. No progress today.

    Education

    Fruit and veg intake:
Definitely need to increase F&V consumption, on this. Not much fruit left but lots of veg included in Nasi Goreng we had for supper. Made a curry for supper & put in fair bit of veg, but could do better. Had veg in leftover curry half & half, and an apple plus blueberries with breakfast. More effort needed.

Getting niggly jobs done Painting inside & out, get builder to fit cowl on chimneys, get chimney swept, painting outside as well. No progress as yet. Too busy clearing/cleaning in prep for all the visitors. No progress yet. DH fitted new toilet seat yesterday, thankfully before visitors arrived as the seat was cracked, luckily he got it fitted as initially he said it didn't fit. Bravo HB! (& DH of course).

Health: Lose approx. a stone & a half. Probs no progress. See cake making & eating above. Same old same old. More visitors, another cake. Damn them all.

Meal Planning: Need to meal plan as tend to go with the flow, and it doesn't always work out. Plan for next few days so far. Tomorrow this is happening choose what.

Moving more - More exercise taken as gardening. Todays exercise was cleaning AND gardening. Only exercise cleaning in the last 2 days. Note to self, do not have visitors round when you have 3 very large hairy dogs (and a cat) and it has been raining.

Time with those you love: Visit of uncle & aunt today, great to see them & did get to discuss a bit of FH with uncle, so a bit useful as well. Visit of BF yesterday, visit of other BF & guest today. Was a hoot - and they gave me a gift card!! And an orchid, how kind. Wish all visitors would pay for their visits LOL. They also said 1. Your hair looks nice (!) and 2. Have you lost weight (absolutely not). They can come again, soon.

    NSD: still 3/15

    Good morning.

Today I'll start with my gratitudes. I'm grateful for being woken by birdsong rather than my alarm after a good night's sleep, the kids' bedtime running smoother in the last few days, and being less stressed. I think all three are actually linked in a cause-effect-cause.......way

Yesterday was day three of my "a little declutter a day" project. Took all the kids books that were in the living room to their room where the actually look at them. Streamlined the gazillion Lego boxes, tidied the stack of dvds ect into boxes under the coffee table that just contained junk etc. Looks so much better and calmer. Today I'll tackle the coffee table drawer and the drawer where we keep the pictures and craft projects worth keeping.

Will go for a run at lunchtime.

I might also make a big batch of pancakes and low carb pancakes to try. Kids discovered pancakes for breakfast and I kept buying the cheap ones from Asda. But it's time to make our own and freeze some.

That a from rainy dreich Scotland just now. Have a good day

Today think I may have wasted £21 as booked Chester zoo for Friday now weather forecast is heavy rain and thunderstorms, fingers crossed it changes by then as taking 2yr old round in that won't be much fun.

They have a wet weather map, that shows all the indoor stuff. We could have spent an hour with the bats alone - if you are really still they can be encouraged to land on you for a second, very cool. Also the tropical butterfly house is fascinating for tiny people. Don't miss it!

    Step-gran has had another fall.

Headboard woman did not turn up.
Nothing got done yesterday, apart from making a fab supper with leftovers and ys (ended up being a coconut & lemongrass, veg rice thing.
Today things will be done. But I have the urge to play hookey! So might go on a ys hunt on the way home (the budget still has £82/£100 for the week - on a Thursday! Really I should just come home and clean something (doesn't that sound fun! not)

Need to get f-i-l something for Fathers' Day (not something I usually do, but if he is ill, then it will not do any harm to suck up).
    I will also make jelly

    Good Morning,

Yesterday was a spend. So am up to 3/5 not including today.

I am trying to be majorly positive but I am actually overwhelmed and stressed.

So I got paid on Tuesday, paid all my bills etc and have realised I actually don't know where my money is going at all or what bills come out of what account. I have as it stands £34 left in my account except for therapy money. I have just checked the other accounts I have and have had payments come out which I thought was sorted and has now made me overdrawn on both.

I have a decently stocked freezer and plan to plough my way through it but, I feel like I should cancel tomorrows therapy session. :(. The problem is next week is the anniversary of the final contact with my daughters and thought of not having therapy is making me stressed and overwhelmed. Everytime I feel I am making progress I get knocked back 10 paces.
