I think this Huawai business is a real warning shot to any international customer, not to trust US software providers, hardware firms, cloud services, data services, etc. The Yanks are willing to cut you off at any time.
Should also make licensing technology from countries where there's a semblance of rule of law more favourable than dealing with the US.0 -
This thread could be a lot more useful if a small number of people could stop their squabbling and do it by PM if they have to.0

I looked at the new Huawei Y6 2019, just out in CW. After reading about this, I cannot bring myself to replace our ageing Wileyfox phones with a phone that answers all our needs, with a great model for a great price. I cannot believe the stupidity of the worst PoTUS that America has ever had. Does he not understand that his attempts to "Make America Great" are going to end in American job losses, bankrupt American companies and a loss of technological know-how? Will his supporters and voters realise this in time to end his White House residency?
Now the UK chip manufacturer ARM have been dragged into this mess. They are a British technological success story and their chips are in so many products all over the world, including China. They are being coerced into denying access to their products for Huawei and Honor.
My detestation for the Plastic PoTUS increases with every stupid move he makes.I think this job really needs
a much bigger hammer.

Hi all.
I purchased a Huawei Mate P20 Pro from O2 at end of January 2019. I have the phone 4 months. Due to the recent Huawei scandal and Google black listing Huawei I find my phone is not fit for the purpose of which it was sold to me. I don't want a phone that can't get updates to software and security. I don't want an Android phone that can't use Google apps. Anyway....
I have contacted O2, on 3 occasions now. Each time I was put through to a call centre in India.
I have asked for my phone to be replaced, I was laughed at once, hung up on 2nd time and 3rd time was told O2 will not replace my phone, it was Googles fault..
Can anyone give me a number to a UK O2 call centre or management?
I have also went onto the O2 forum and posted my concerns, only to be trolled and insulted by the people who are running the forums {who all have Indian insignia against their Indian names} , even had my posts blocked, removed and my account frozen..
Like is this the normal customer support from O2? These members of staffs are treating me with complete disrespect and don't give a damn..
I would really like to communicate with someone in UK who understands and cares about their customers and our consumer laws. When did O2 decide it was better to nilly and harass customers with genuine concerns.
Can somone please advise me without trollng me or insulting me..
I have a 850£ Huawei phone, on contract which is no lo get fit for purpose of which it was sold to me and O2s staff don't give a damn.
This is really stressing me out.
Thanks

Why is it no longer fit for purpose and why are you surprised people are laughing at you?0 -
I did say, I'd rather not be trolled and one pops up instantly.0

How exactly is the phone not fit for purpose TODAY?0

It might surprise you to learn that I’ve been offered full refunds on two Huawei phones by an exceptionally good retailer.
No names - unfair on said retailer - but there are some excellent retailers out there, some of whom are particularly responsive and deserve future custom and loyalty.
Guess where the replacements are coming from?0
