Well if i was making assumptions then you would be able to point out where i was wrong and show me your source of information to back this up.
The only condensing one here is you who seems to think your superior because you don't keep up to date with mobile phones and you think people who do are "won over by mass stupidity and gullibility".0 -
Are not contracts only for poor people who cannot afford a phone ??
HP by another name ?0 -

Not sure about the use of the word 'poor' - maybe financially illiterate? Although ultimately the one probably leads to the other.
Certainly you're likely to be better off buying the phone outright, along with a SIM-only contract.
The widespread use of contract phones, though, is doubtless what's driving the purchase of new phones every year or two - just as PCPs are driving purchases of new cars every 2 or 3 years.
Both might be regarded as madness by someone (like me) who keeps both cars and phones for as long as they continue to function well.0 -

About 5 years ago i when i was buying a phone i actually got a 12 month contract which worked out with a lower total cost than buying the phone outright and it included a reasonable allowance for calls and texts (but not much data).
Now when you look at current deals you are paying a premium to buy a phone on contract compared to buying it outright (i did work it out as a percentage in another thread not too long ago).
It is a bit strange that the majority of people can go and out and get the best phones in the world. But in almost every other kind of product the best in the world is unobtainable unless your well off.0 -

I think this Huawai business is a real warning shot to any international customer, not to trust US software providers, hardware firms, cloud services, data services, etc. The Yanks are willing to cut you off at any time.0 -

More assumptions. I don't have to nor claim to justify anything by using hearsay and guesswork. You're (that's the correct version) the one making all the "factual" statements and labelling the "minority". I also don't lkike condensed milk.0 -

I've looked on Google and found figures for the average length of time someone keeps a phone and also see in the real world how old people's phone are, no hearsay or guesswork involved.
If you think your not in the minority by used a device over 4 years old then prove it. But you seem to be saying your right and you don't need to check any facts, yet somehow my posts are the one's that are wrong :rotfl: .
But it seems the only thing wrong you found in my post is the use of the word "your" instead of "your're" so it seems everything else is correct.
But at least all the words i used in my post are real words; remind me of what "lkike" means again? :rotfl:0 -
At a guess the google search would have only covered thode in rich countries .
Very sure that in many countries phones are not updated every four years .
Likewise many less well off UK customers dont change phones every four years .
Anyway it matters not a jot . You change every four years jolly good . I change only when i need a new phone . Thats not for bling or oneupmanship or needing to have the latest . ( more power to them as do as they put profit into so many companies ) .
5g phone might be a temptation next month though .0 -

Not the only. You obviously don't undestand how statistics are compiled and used. You haven't proven anything and I have no need to. Would be like debating with Diane Abbott; pretty pointless.0
