I'm taking books out of my Amazon system and making a bigger and bigger pile to take to the Oxfam bookshop, and telling myself how much I'll enjoy the extra space.

Sales must be good today, as I've just gone and spent far too much on Amazon Marketplace

It's um market research. Am also trying out Green Metropolis' system as a buyer too.

i had an email yesterday from an amazon customer:

"Dear Sirs, Since receiving my new nano in January I have only managed to import 5 albums on to it. This has caused me to lose interest but recently I have been trying unsuccessfully to sync my ipod. I am very exasperated and unhappy with this product and have had no real pleasure from it all. I have asked various friends to try to sort it for me but without success even though they themselves have similar ipods. So, unamimously they believe it is defective. I would appreciate a reply as soon as possible."

when i listed it i said that there was 12 months manufacturers warranty so should i be pointing her in Apples direction? or do i have obligations to refund after this amount of time?

    Hi Pinkgem

check out this help page on Amazon http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/help/customer/display.html?ie=UTF8&nodeId=3149431

I think the important sentence is: If the item is shipped as used and is defective or damaged upon receipt, the buyer should report the defect/damage to you within 7 days of receipt and make return arrangements. If the item becomes defective more than 30 days after shipment and is under warranty, please assist your buyer in pursuing a warranty claim with the manufacturer.

Personally, I think you are in the clear - you might want to talk to a Sellers' Support Assistant - you will find the link on the right hand side of the screen. They are usually quite good at offering assistance/advice - make sure they make a note on your 'file' so that if the buyer contacts them later there is a record that you have discussed this and agreed a course of action with Seller Support.

Good luck - let us know how you get on.

    Hi there, another newbie here!
After looking throught this thread ( a weeks worth of reading) I've taken the plunge and listed the stuff that was lying about the house.
I've sold 6 books so far, which I am delighted about, although profit margins have been varied!
I've got a quick question which is really buggin me - how can I find the listing for an item that I have a SDN email for? I really want to include a full description in the email to buyer, exactly as per listing, but cannot seem to get back to it after 15minutes exploring all options - please help!
    Thanks :)

    Hi PPPingu
Go to your sellers account and to "view your orders" Click on long number above the book title to get the specific order up then click on the title of the book.

    Welcome to the thread!

    Cheers
  • I have just listed a CD as a practice...can someone please explain the breakdown that Amazon gave me..I'm a bit confused.
Postage charge to buyer on your behalf (if sold):
Learn more about the Postage charge £1.24 for delivery within the UK*
    Amazon.co.uk Marketplace fees (if sold):
Learn more about Seller Fees (£1.36) for delivery within the UK* VAT on Amazon.co.uk Marketplace fees:
Learn more about VAT on Seller Fees (£0.21) for delivery within the UK* Total you will receive (if sold): £2.16 for delivery within the UK*
Can someone explain that? I understand that I will recieve £2.16 if this is sold..but where does the £1.24,£1.37 and £0.21 come into it? :S Please explain.
