Re cookery books - I've only sold a few but reckon its worth looking out for the older more established 'names' if you are checking charity shops. I sold a Robert Carrier one on Morrocan cookery for about £18. It wasn't a really big book so postage not too bad.

My sales seem to have picked up a bit - sold 2 on Friday [one was a 1p Mills & Boon] and a pending converted today :j . Am well chuffed as its an ex-library book only acceptable with faults listed in detail. Has gone for £19.99 so just hope buyer has read the description  Mind you it was the only UK copy on Amazon and the US one was a silly price.

Am hoping sales generally are picking up again - giives me the impetus to list some more.

    Good luck everyone

I've sold 2 today having switched my listings back on last Thursday, one of them was one I listed when I very first started on Amazon.

All my recent sales have been books I listed about a year ago or earlier. More recent books that I thought would go are still there  . Still, a sales a sale

I generally email the buyer to check that they are aware of the condition when it's not so good. I had a bad experience with a buyer who did not read the description once which taught me to! I've had positive feedback from doing so as well. :)

    Hello everybody,

First time post, but I've been following versions of this thread for a while.

Quick question - I want to get my hands on one of those slotted pieces of plastic that the Post Office use to check the size of your package (so I can decided which books to list and which to ignore) any ideas were I might find one?

The second thing is that I was interested in using amazon's sales ranking system to decide if I should keep a book in stock (space is an issue for me) and I found this analysis very interesting - I thought I'd put it on here in case anyone else was having similar thoughts.

    Thanks,

    Joe

When the shipping says "standard", does that mean you have to send it first class or can you send it second?
