CCL - Have you tried chamomile tea. It is supposed to help you sleep and relieve anxiety. I have a cup every night in bed. Might just be a placebo effect but I like it. The other thing which is supposed to help is sprinkling a few drops of lavender oil on your pillow.

    Might be worth a try.

Thanks Toni'sfriend - I will try pretty much anything, although I am funny with tea that isn't 'proper tea'. I can do some lavender easily enough though...

It's a bit of an acquired taste but really nice when you get used to it.

Thanks for all my bday wishes - I particularly like the idea of being 5 gain, as per f0xh0les' cake :D - so much more fun at that age!! :rotfl: Sadly, I need another 44 candles, which makes for a bit of a fire hazard! :D

Like f0xh0les, I have also been struck by the (early) Spring cleaning bug - bizarrely! I keep deep cleaning rooms - most unlike me! :D

Another NSD today (and yesterday) - work today and then aunt came here this afternoon with bday card and present (voucher for afternoon tea - yum - and no clutter except on my b*m! )

Got an unexpected bill by email today - school bus for next year needs booking and deposit paid by 18th March - so that's £110 I'm paying out next week which wasn't budgeted for this month :( In previous years it's been in July...

Have a lovely weekend - hope all of these bugs just go away for everyone (me included ;))

Was a spend day. Did a small food/household items top of shop. Had to buy printer ink as well - was running out but new ones should hopefully last a while. Also ordered the natural deodorant.
Did quite a bit of walking today. Walked to various shops. Also walked to and from free event I attended. Walking saves me money by not using my oyster - not having to keep topping it up.
Will be going to my friend's tomorrow and planning to have a take away. She cares for her Mum and brother, also works. It will be a nice treat. Is in budget.
Also attending a free event on Sunday in London. Planning to attend a few more free events this month.
Self care still needs to be done this evening and tidied up a bit in the flat.
Have added up what I have left in some of the categories.

Today I am grateful for a warm coat, for the hygienist saying there was only a bit of cleaning to do (I'd hate there to be a lot, I really didn't enjoy the experience!), for easy travelling and seats on trains, for the energy to walk plenty and buy nothing apart from food, for a chat with big sis, for a supremely quiet evening.

Happy belated birthday greent. We are the same age this year :)

    Waste

Food - Ate a rather unpleasant YS GF macaroni cheese. Reminded why I don't usually buy ready meals :( It's not a bargain if it tastes rank.
Plastics - made sure the cotton buds I bought were paper not plastic, recycled, took my jute bags to the shop
Money - Took an unwanted item back for a return, bought a small contribution to a school event, bought a book 2nd hand that DS wanted (2nd in a series)after checking not available through library as well as the 1st in another series by the same author for his birthday and with free P&P

Utilities - dried the item DS needed for World Book Day on the radiator and didn't use the TD

    Invest in Yourself

Happy - having a go at origami with DH
Steps Forward - menu plan and shopping list done to avoid overspending

New Skill - not started yoga practice yet 0/20. Completely forgot about it today!

    Needs not Wants

Gratitudes - 1) A productive day at work 2) A nice glass of red 3) MasterChef being on soon

Planned Expenditure - All spending planned although spent more of food budget than would have liked this far into month as needed meat and run out of a couple of things

    Simplicity

Routines - I haven't really got into a routine so far this month with the housework
Simplify your Stuff - Will find some more items for the reverse charity shop this weekend Make Space - See above
Cut out noise - Really enjoying reading more again

DFD - Feb 2022, aiming for Dec 2021 - payment made to a CC today :money:
Budget - Paid annual fee for YNAB and all present and correct :)
    Save £10,500 - £2673.77 - 25.5%

Had to throw out the last 2 pineapple rings from a huge tin today. Must buy smaller tins. Been really good with turning electrics off

    Invest in yourself
Bought a ‘Italian for beginners’ course in the CS. We go to Sicily in June so that is my motivation!

I now need to find a way to stop my 4 year old from talking non-stop so I can think about learning. OMG!!! I love him so much but it is relentless!!

    Needs not wants
I have to admit to buying a laptop today. I’m self-employed and work from home, and our tv is also our computer monitor so if someone wants to watch tv I can’t work. I have an iPad which I’ve had for years but I just can’t get to grips with it. It’s become really stressful and I’ve got behind with clients work so hopefully this will make a big difference

    Simplicity
Been enjoying the nice weather, a hot cup of tea and a good book. Off to Butlyns next week on a Tots Week. Will be lovely to spend some quality family time without the stress of work and the never ending building project!
