    Waste

Food - Nothing chucked out today. Ate the chicken dish DH turned his nose up last 2 nights
    Plastics - recycled milk carton
Money - diluted hand wash to get the last bit out, chopped DW tabs in half so I can wait another week before buying some more
Utilities - Cold here yesterday so sat with a hot water bottle while working from home to save heating a whole house

    Invest in Yourself

Happy - Seeing how creative DS is making his own costume for book day
Steps Forward - Sticking to budget, eating proper meals, adding a cashback cheque to our holiday spending pot

New Skill - not started yoga practice yet 0/20. Was going to do a morning but not really practical so may have to be lunchtime when WFH

    Needs not Wants

Gratitudes - 1) Finding everything we needed to make the outfit and DH remembering to bring his stapler home from work 2) Spotting an advert for a clinical trial which may help DH with a condition he has had since childhood 3) Still having £1 odd left in the food budget with 1 day to go
Planned Expenditure - All spending planned

    Simplicity

Routines - Didn't manage 45 minute routine last night due to buying materials and creating DS outfit
Simplify your Stuff - Doing 40 days of Lent for friends charity. It's like the reverse advent calendar but with clothing donations for the charity shopMake Space - See above
Cut out noise - Does sleeping in the other room last night as DH was snoring so badly count?
    NSDs - 1/12 - got one! :j
DFD - Feb 2022, aiming for Dec 2021 - no payments off today :money:
Budget - done in YNAB and all up to date :money:
    Save £10,500 - £2673.77 - 25.5%
    Pay off £7000 - £1743 - 19.4%
    Make £2021 extra income - £99.75

    greent - Happy Birthday.

Chucking it down here today and rather windy too. Grocery shop is coming this morning, all meals will be from what needs using up rather than the new goodies.

Busy week this week and not doing very well on no spends but should be able to manage today tomorrow and at least one day on the weekend.
One positive of being busy is that I have done lots of walking but one negative is that I am very tired and the weather has been a bit rubbish here.
Still keeping up with writing down three positive things that happened every day which is nice.

Seem to have one thing after another this year had 6 weeks of shingles, 3 weeks of toothache/ gum infection just settling down now tonsilitus and nasty cold. Compared to others I am fine keep telling myself but can't wait for the weekend and a lie in.

Spendy day due to hairdressers and going to transfer dd some pennies for her birthday next week she's in NZ.

Got heaps of veg lurking in my salad crisper so will make a huge pan of soup later rather than waste it.

    Being positive:):):):):)

Looking forward to seeing book day outfits today. GS an astronaut.
Daffodils still smiling in my garden.
I can see the weekend around the corner and my cold will be gone

    Belated happy birthday greent

:bdaycake: didn't know how many candles, so today you get to be 5:rotfl:.

I have refereed kids arguments, got them all to school on time, been to the tip, done shopping with £5 free money voucher, shopping came to £5 so I keep my NSD:j, hoovered, and have a relatively short list of stuff to do today. Trying a new recipe tonight - DH is still complaining of being tired all the time (but not tired enough to miss the work jollies, and pub trips:() so I am doing 'food as medicine' which he does not believe in. So tonight is a chickpea and spinach dahl (red lentil version) with chilli naan (ys). It looks proper lush.

With my trip to the tip, oops, sorry, recycling centre, my hall is now clear, the passage to the kitchen is now clear and much easier to walk through, the rooms have all been hoovered and tidied and look much bigger. I have even been cleaning the insides of the windows. The kitchen windowsill has been emptied of glass jars and lids that have been accumulating dust, and will be filled with all the random pantry stuff and herbs and spices that are bit packets all over the place (I have washed them - no more dust). As well as that, I seem to be on top of the laundry mountain. I have obviously been possessed by the Spring Cleaning Fairy, demonic possession is the only realistic explanation of this totally out of character behaviour. :rotfl:

    Waste management
    Food

Made some more soup for the Boy's lunches using chicken and rice from the freezer. Sausage and mash for dinner. That's us down to 5 packets now.

    Recycling
    Just the usual card, etc

    Utilities
Keeping an eye on the usage.

    Money
    Small spend in Aldi

    Invest in yourself
    Plodding along

    Needs not wants
Himself did it again. How many chocolate biscuits can one person eat? Actually, I think it's because he's given up drinking so possibly the lesser of two evils.

    Simplicity
    Confession. Did practically nothing today.

Hope everyone who is poorly feels better soon.
Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.
  • Hi all:j

    Greent Happy belated birthday :bdaycake:
    Hope you feel better soon.
Calling14 Hope you feel better soon too.

    Waste management
    - Food waste - Working from home today had yesterday's leftovers for lunch.
    - Plastics – Trying to recycle or reuse.
    - Utilities – Lined dried the washing.
    - Money – I too am going to Crufts with my DD. DDs Christmas present. Paid for in November and spends budgeted for. DD is soooo excited

    Invest in yourself
    - Do something every single day that makes you happy.
Going for a walk with my two besties at 7.:)
    - Do something else every single day that takes you a little bit nearer to your long-term goals (and now is a good time to set some, if you don’t have any…)
Hopefully I'll reach 12,000 steps this evening.
    - Learn a new skill or re-start an old one.
    Still thinking.
    - Can you grow any food this year?
I will try and start with some herbs.

    Needs not wants
    - We all know Martin’s mantra. Be consistent in applying it. Learn to distinguish between what you truly need and what you want to have now and simply cannot ever live without…
I will make a huge effort to focus on this mantra.
    - Appreciate what you have and enjoy it.
I am grateful for working from home arrangements, a rain free afternoon, my cosy stove and cuddles from my DD.

    Simplicity

-Put routines in place that keep your life running smoothly and make things automatic.
I need to develop a cleaning routine, a pamper/beauty routine and exercise routine.
    - Simplify your stuff. Just get rid of the unnecessary stuff. Donate it to a charity shop. Freecycle it. Give it to friends and neighbours.
I have decluttered a few bits for the charity shop.
    - Make space for yourself.
I will look at the space I have and make the best use of same.
    - Cut out the extra noise in your life. This might be computer games, the Interweb, tv, radio, certain people. Allow yourself peace and quiet to simply be.
No quiet time today as yet.
    - Be frugal in your needs.
I haven't purchased any cleaning products, toiletries or clothes.
    4/15 NSDs.
    5/12 Lunch to work.
    No vending machines purchases.

Have a lovely evening turtles. Xx

    Hello
    Belated happy birthday greent.
Hope those antibiotics do the trick sooner rather than later mothernerd.
Sasha - I cannot believe that you've bagged a nsd on holiday. Jealous :T
I'm pleased to report I'm feeling a bit better today than I have done in a while. Still struggling to find my motivation but it is amazing how much difference a good night's sleep makes. I just wish I knew the trick to getting quality sleep.
Super busy at work at the moment with mock exams, huge classes and my own lack of motivation. I left as soon as I could tonight but have brought over 100 exam papers home with me to mark. I'll do them a bit at a time but I'm much happier at home than at work at the moment.
Not a nsd as Mr S will be paying me a visit later this evening with the weekly shop - however, I'm keeping the faith apart from that.

greent - Wishing you a Happy Birthday.
    NSD today - 6/20.
Walked 2 of my usual lap around the park.
Made a fruit cake, used what I had in.
Did some cross stitching and self care.
Made arrangement to see friend on Saturday, just need to confirm time.
Did list of items to get tomorrow. Only a very small top up shopping.
Set up a new monthly saver account. It is 2% interest rate and can only put up to a certain amount each month. Will be for a year, then I will need to review it then. Paperwork will be coming through post. Will be transferring money each month from another savings account will has a lower interest rate.

have done lots of resting and sleeping and a little tidying. DS3 remembered lending me his old (third best) laptop a while ago and came to look for it. Did not find it but managed to upend a couple of boxes so more chaos than usual. Had pulled out the bed to look down the side and end of the bed so carried on and dragged everything out.

Mostly things that fall off the end or down the side but were also trapped in there because the old bed was stored there until I had the bulky items collection. Lots of rubbish, some empty bottles, one Christmas present and the turkey gravy granules.

I tipped the chair sideways and fell out on the floor but got myself up again (but now feeling the fallout). I'm moving some things out into the yard now that there is more space - old diy bits that weren't needed but have kept hold of (hidden behind doors but they occasionally jump out and hit you or trip you up). They will go in the bin or a skip if I end up getting one but can stay in the yard for now.

Today I am grateful for helpful neighbour who brought my bin back, for getting things done even if the results aren't visible yet and a visit from DS2.
My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.
