Hi all:j
Waste management
- Food waste - No food waste.
- Plastics – Trying to recycle or reuse.
- Utilities – All electrical equipment switched off when not in use.
- Money – Need to update my budget.
Invest in yourself
- Do something every single day that makes you happy.
Spending time with my brother, sister and families.
- Do something else every single day that takes you a little bit nearer to your long-term goals (and now is a good time to set some, if you don’t have any…)
10000 steps
- Learn a new skill or re-start an old one.
Still thinking.
- Can you grow any food this year?
I will try and start with some herbs.
Needs not wants
- We all know Martin’s mantra. Be consistent in applying it. Learn to distinguish between what you truly need and what you want to have now and simply cannot ever live without…
I will make a huge effort to focus on this mantra.
- Appreciate what you have and enjoy it.
I am grateful for spending time with my brother and family, for my brother's homemade pancakes, a pre prepared dinner and a pleasant drive home from work.
Simplicity
-Put routines in place that keep your life running smoothly and make things automatic.
I need to develop a cleaning routine, a pamper/beauty routine and exercise routine.
- Simplify your stuff. Just get rid of the unnecessary stuff. Donate it to a charity shop. Freecycle it. Give it to friends and neighbours.
Nothing done regarding simplifying my life today. Had a busy day at work and hadn't the time nor the energy.
- Make space for yourself.
I will look at the space I have and make the best use of same.
- Cut out the extra noise in your life. This might be computer games, the Interweb, tv, radio, certain people. Allow yourself peace and quiet to simply be.
I had a quiet 30 mins this evening to relax.
- Be frugal in your needs.
I haven't purchased any cleaning products, toiletries or clothes.
3/15 NSDs.
4/12 Lunch to work.
No vending machines purchases.
Good night. Xx0 -
Thanks everyone, he’s got another and stronger painkiller. So hopefully he’ll remain comfortable for a while longer. It’s hard because it’s in his throat so the rest of him is pretty ok, he’s just struggling to eat comfortably and produces a lot of saliva so dribbles a lot. Bless him.
SFD yesterday. Had pancakes for tea and chocolate all day. Can’t wait for this week to be over but each day is precious with my little dog so don’t want it to go too quickly.LBM = 07/09/13 Debt = £13339 (100% cleared)

Ooh so we have!
NSD 2/15 for me yesterday and a 20 minute run (longest I've run for about a year) yay! finally have a clear head after the weekend's antics. Need to take some time for myself and stop drinking so much at the weekends... Martin, if you're reading this, drinking is a low cost activity in Spain where I live! (well lower than london anyway) and I'm finding it hard to give it up although my body desperately needs a break. This girl can't do moderation.
Have a wonderful week turtlesStudent loan £5655

Got my new glasses today. Amazing how much better I can see. I must find something to do with the old ones. Our optician used to take them but doesn't seem to
All the Sp0ckSavers have a recycle bin for glasses, VisionAid or something, just hand them in at reception.
Yesterday was indeed NSD3 as I was wedged down the side of DS3s single bed putting up 3 shelves on dodgy walls. All stuffed animals now have a safe sanctuary, and bedside lamps and all the stuff an 11 yr old boy needs next to his bed, is now next to his bed (very very small bedroom - about 10' x 5') Very happy boy.
Pancakes flipped - my plan to make big ones so they would have less of them did not work - 3 each, but by the time I had made 15 of them, I really did not fancy one, so I did not have one, and I have managed to lose 3lbs so far courtesy of my food processor and raw salad-slaws that bizarrely are curbing most of my sugar cravings and snacking urges. yay!!!
So, today should be NSD4 - I have all I need for my plans for the day (does not involve drills), no food waste, not much waste of any sort really.
As for what the kids have given up for lent, it is still a work in progress as I used my right of veto over the suggestions of lino and skydiving.

Thank you for the quote. That has spurred me on this morning. No feeling sorry for myself today!
I have resurrected the plastic wrappings bin and had words with DH about not using it as a bin! No washing today as it’s due to rain all day but I think we can last a day without a washload and I don’t want to use the tumble dryer
Dinner already planned and bought. LOTS of work work to do today. Annoyingly have to go to th hospital at lunchtime which is not the most convenient. You get an hours free parking so you try not be early, but obviously don’t want to be late. It’s quite a juggle :rotfl:
Hope you have a grea day Turtles!0
