Books back to the library, chose some more, continued across the road to post a card from mum to DS1, then on to the cash machine to make withdrawals (mine and mum's), back past home to mum's cousin's to post info on DS1's new (married) name and address in case she hadn't written it down.

Mum of twins and the babies (twins nearly 2yo and her twin sister's little boy, nearly 3yo) were just leaving as I got to mum's. Mum was having her nails done. She has passed on the latest batch of paperwork (one to file, travel vouchers for next tax year to order and holidays to consider - if we both buck up in time to enjoy the Lake District in 2 weeks).

Took food with me (and drinks). Need to do another food order for mum (and hunt out another couple of letters as I really really want to spend a whole day being put on hold and lied to in hopes of recovering a couple of quid).

Have been given tomorrow off as I am meeting mum on Wednesday at the dentist (hygenist this time as they would not let her book it to follow on from the dentist) to take her to Icyland after and then back to hers to do the remaining March and April birthday cards.

Major bag attack tomorrow - it's working quite well as I can sort through quite a lot without moving very far and then bags can be delivered to appropriate rooms/ locations afterwards. Using my enormous bag for life collection too.

Today I am grateful that I was indoors for the worst of the rain, that I was able to joke with mum about her behaviour last week (having recovered sufficiently to try catching up on the past few weeks by telling me to run in six different directions at once) and for just getting through some days recently.
My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.

    Morning all,

Spendy day yesterday and rule broken on a takeaway! Sister came round and we both wanted a cheer us up treat after some worrying family news yesterday. All within budget so I’m ok with it. Busy day at work and today as always will be the same. Dog back to the vet for a check up tonight, so just want to get today over with.

  • Hope the vet appointment goes well today Fmess.

Not much to report on the MS front, up to 3 NSDs but may miss today as we need cat food. DH is doing well, his phone has developed yet another fault and he's still a few months in contract so would need to pay to upgrade. He's ordered a spare part to see if that will fix the problem.

That reminds me, I need to check when my phone contract runs out. I currently lay nearly £30/month for handset and data, I should be able to reduce that substantially. Phone is an iPhone SE and still perfectly usable.

You cannot get through a single day without having an impact on the world around you.

What you do makes a difference, and you have to decide what kind of difference you want to make.

NSD 2 achieved, today should be NSD3 as I have everything I need and will not be lured into dangerous swampy territory (shops)
Just a girl and her drill, putting up 3 more shelves in a kids' room, which is a) decluttering the woodpile, b)making storage, and c) recycling, all at the same time.
Then a house tidy and hoover in preparation for the pancake fest which is mandatory on 'pancake Tuesday'. Had to laugh, school is doing pancake day on Wednesday instead - erm .............. hello? as the least religious person in the history of people, I have told the kids if they want to celebrate the pancake deity, they have to give up something for lent (something they like) ...... they are now officially horrified.:rotfl: :rotfl:

    Ruined a NSD yesterday completely needlessly. A short story;

Next to my gym is a communal car park in which everyone pays for. However if you're a member of the gym, you can get your little plastic chip verified and you get 2 hours or parking free!! So, last night after I left the gym, I forgot to do this and then was confronted with a £3 charge as I was leaving. Very frustrating.

Further to this, I was thinking about it as I was driving away and grumbling to myself. The fact I'm annoyed at a £3 spend I think shows how far I have come since the days of my debt. My mentality has completely changed, every penny has a job and it really annoys me when something silly (and avoidable) like that happens.

Anyway, I'm still stuck on NSD #1

I think a lot of people are moving away from contract phones now, spending so much money per month to upgrade your phone to one which does the same job seems pointless, the new phones don't really do anything different from the last ones now.

Yesterday was a NSD and today should be apart from petrol which I don't count. Applied for several jobs yesterday, turned down an interview for one today, it was 21 hours over 3 days and was a temporary position initially but the location whilst not far in miles was probably 45 minutes each way on a normal day which is just too long. Then I found another job, really lovely but it's 5 full or part days with a non negotiable 5.30pm finish - leaves very little evening at all after eating and cleaning up.

    Food £37/£100
    Fuel 0/£40
    Going out £3.5/£40
Hair 0/£60 - Yes due for a long awaited spring sort out.

Clothes none this month well £10 jumper in sainsbobs but used survey gift card. Needed for work mine were bobbly and charity shops here are so expensive.
    Bdays 0/£50
    Dentist 0/£200 .

Today is when I have to pay the dentist for the 3 weeks of pain caused by her overdrilling, really not happy about this. Hopefully it is settling done finally. Not sure I can claim it back from Medicash as think I might be up to my limit. Will try anyway.

Feel so much better being accountable on here. Leftover stew had for tea last night, today probably soup as think I have tonsilitus courtesy of grandkids. Love them but they are germs magnets. x

Will be a spendy day with dentist and also off to a gig booked last year, daughter owes me money so she can buy me a drink. Driving so cheap on drinks front.

F0xh0les Your posts always give me a giggle. So what are they giving up?
Specky I feel the same. I used to not give it a thought but now I hate spending money on silly (and sometimes not so silly) things

    ]NSD Still 2/15

    Waste management
    Food

Used up the rest of the chicken for sandwiches at lunchtime so no more added to the chicken mountain in the freezer. Himself had something that looked quite tasteless for lunch. I think it was some kind of chicken nugget thing that's been in there forever. Having salmon for tea and the Boy is having bolognese so a few things removed.

    Plastics etc
    Nothing today.

    Utilities
Keeping an eye on the usage.

    Money
Got some YS tomatoes in Aldi. I love tomatoes and eat lots so always try to get them when they're reduced. But why oh why do I take Himself with me? We really did not need the chocolate biscuits that appeared from the basket at the checkout.

    Invest in yourself
Got my new glasses today. Amazing how much better I can see. I must find something to do with the old ones. Our optician used to take them but doesn't seem to any more. Plodding on with the basic skin care and reading my book.

    Needs not wants
See chocolate biscuits above. Honestly not my fault.

    Simplicity
Himself is going out tomorrow so I'm hoping I can do some moving about/tidying up/ rubbish disposing of whilst he's not here.
Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.

Another NSD. Dropped LO at nursery, drove an hour and a half to work meeting, had meeting, got back just in time to pick LO back up from nursery, home to walk the dog, cooking dinner then off to my evening class. I feel shattered! Both knees, one ankle and both wrists are swollen and painful. Will have to go back (again) to the GP as something isn’t right and I’m taking far too many painkillers

Think I’ve managed to find a dog groomer who will groom our anxious dog. Not MSE as I don’t care about the price providing we can get through a whole groom without me having to collect him half trimmed. He cries and cries and everyone gets stressed!

Feeling a bit behind with everything but hopefully I’ll catch up with my good intentions as the month progresses:(
