Grrrr - WM on the blink again!! Managed to open door and get sopping wet laundry out - have rinsed it twice in kitchen sink and hand wrung it (very badly - have trapped nerve in left wrist so can't twist with that one and grip is poor) and hung on line. Have called local fix-it place and they are coming out tomorrow. Did a shop at A5da - did have a list which I stuck to except I also bought a (not needed but very cute) flamingo mug for £2 - in the mug shape I like (am quite particular - 'rejects' get relegated to guest mugs or taken to work) Did buy my tomato seeds, though :T - along with courgette and carrot ones (haven't got either and usually grow both of those) Also bought some RTC gift tags in plain colours which can then get used with random paper in stash and a 'landscape' gift bag (as opposed to portrait way) also RTC which I will use for my mum.

Leftovers for lunch :) Although I did throw several small orange-y things (clems? sats?) in the food waste bin - OH is the only one who eats them and he has ignored these and they were dry and shrivelled :(:(

ETA: 3 'outs' yesterday - sadly all to bin - 2 baskets which are broken and were second hand when we got them 8-9 years ago and aren't being replaced (as have no need for the storage, due to having got rid of stuff :T) and a large sports holdall/ travel bag which has ripped and isn't repairable... :(
I am the master of my fate; I am the captain of my soul
    Repaid mtge early (orig 11/25) 01/09 £124616 01/11 £89873 01/13 £52546 01/15 £12133 07/15 £NIL
    Net sales 2024: £20

    Hello turtles
I'm still on 1 NSD. Was doing quite well until yesterday when I had an unexpected cost which I will have to chalk up to bad luck... so I am unfortunately €15 over budget for last week. I had already spent €15 on clothes in the charity shop which I would not have done had I known but never mind.

thanks all for your ideas on reusing plastics - I want to start doing this more. The bottle greenhouse sounds awesome Mothernerd Perhaps it will be the only way to carry on until the system changes (hmm when will that be)

    Have a great Monday everyone

    Waste management
    Food

No food waste today. Used the left over chicken for sandwiches at lunchtime, Having chicken salad tonight and have made chicken stock.

    Plastics etc
I'm becoming aware of just how stuff there is that can't be recycled.

Positive note in that after numerous phone calls the council have eventually taken away the rubbish that was dumped at the end of the road.

    Utillities
Trying but it is still a little bit cold (actually a big bit cold today).

    Money
Can't believe we ran out of coffee. Stocked up now and bought a few other things that we would have got later on in the week.

    Invest in yourself
Basic looking after myself a bit better started.

    Needs not wants
Succumbed and bought the herbs. But they do look nice on the porch and they will probably be easier to look after than flowers.

    Simplicity
    Getting there, I hope.
Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.

Today is one of those days where I just try and keep my head down and let it all pass. Hopefully I'll be back to normal tomorrow - as long as I get a good night's sleep. I'm tired and grumpy and just a bit generally fed up still. Following the self care thing though and doing what I need to do for myself. I've had dinner, am in my jammies and seeing how the evening goes.
Not a nsd - bought ds a breakfast at the golden arches this morning. I abstained even though I love their bacon sarnies and treated myself with a cup of tea at work! :

F0xh0les - I have found Momox to be the best for selling books

Problems again all of Sunday with telephone and internet. Managed a NSD. My sister has had a major clothes clearout so I have some new-to-me clothes, and some to try and sell on Bay of E.

Today was spendy as it’s weekly shopping day and I always get fuel. Got some ys chicken sausages which we eat anyway. Had faggots for dinner which I told LO were meatballs, lol! He loved them:rotfl:

Posted 4 items sold through Bay of E and need to put some bits on Free Eagle. 1 washload nearly dried outside. Broke the 4 minute mile when I heard the patter of rain on the caravan roof and dashed out to retrieve the washing!

Plastic recycling not going well. After explaining to DH that I was collecting stretchy plastic to take to Morris’s Son, I walked in to find he was now using the recycling bin as an ordinary bin and it was full of teabags, peelings and porridge (there is a limit!)

Thought I might try and wash my hair every other day with a wash down in between. Bit concerned though that I might be too stinky!

Grateful today for seeing all the beautiful bulbs in flower, friendly staff in the shops, days without needing the heating on and my hilarious LO:A

Today I am grateful for seeing more daylight, for a good day at work, for a yummy sch lunch (I always have tuna mayo + salad), for getting almost all of my marking done, for not aching too much after falling over yesterday (brain is 12, body isn't and body came off worse in a game of freeze tag), for hm chips, for a big bag of clothes from a friend for dd to look through, for good things to read.

    NSD achieved - 3/20.
Finally posted somethings to my brother and sister. Have been putting this off over the past year. Somethings that they might like to keep. Already had stamps and envelopes in.
Walked to the post box then went into the park and walked 2 laps of my usual route.
    Finally started doing cross stitching.
Done self care and did a few bits in the flat. Put out the recycling which can go into the communal recycling bin.

  • Hi all :j

    Waste management
    - Food waste - Using up bits from the fridge and freezer.
    - Plastics – Trying to recycle or reuse.
    - Utilities – Done some batch cooking yesterday and ensured the oven was full.
    - Money – Need to update my budget.

    Invest in yourself
    - Do something every single day that makes you happy.
    Spent a little time reading.
    - Do something else every single day that takes you a little bit nearer to your long-term goals (and now is a good time to set some, if you don’t have any…)
    Achieving 10000 steps a day.
    - Learn a new skill or re-start an old one.
    Still thinking.
    - Can you grow any food this year?
I will try and start with some herbs.

    Needs not wants
    - We all know Martin’s mantra. Be consistent in applying it. Learn to distinguish between what you truly need and what you want to have now and simply cannot ever live without…
I will make a huge effort to focus on this mantra.
    - Appreciate what you have and enjoy it.
I am grateful for a good day at work, my son and his chatter, the brighter evenings and an early night.

    Simplicity
    - Put routines in place that keep your life running smoothly and make things automatic.
I need to develop a cleaning routine, a pamper/beauty routine and exercise routine.
    - Simplify your stuff. Just get rid of the unnecessary stuff. Donate it to a charity shop. Freecycle it. Give it to friends and neighbours.
Decluttered a few bits for the charity shop.
    - Make space for yourself.
I will look at the space I have and make the best use of same.
    - Cut out the extra noise in your life. This might be computer games, the Interweb, tv, radio, certain people. Allow yourself peace and quiet to simply be.
I have managed 15 minutes per day to be still.
    - Be frugal in your needs.
I haven't purchased any cleaning products, toiletries or clothes.
    2/15 NSDs.
    3/12 Lunch to work.
    No vending machines purchases.
    Savings £300 this month.
Paid £200 of credit card debt.

    Good night. Xx
