  • Hi all

Just a quick post as I'm in Birmingham. DD and I are going to Crufts in the morning. We left home early this morning and arrived at 2pm. My DD is in awe of city life as we live rural.
On a frugal note I packed all our snacks for the three days. We walked where possible saving money and increasing my step count. Hoping to stay within budget, so far so good.

JoJo77 I feel your pain. I love and adore DD, she is so enthusiastic about life she constantly chatters. She is 11!!

Hugs to all that are still feeling poorly.

    Good night all. Xx

An okay day in the end. Walked round to the taxi office and there was a driver in there, waiting for a job. Asked him/ receptionist if he could possibly take me to the infirmary, wait whilst I went in to collect my prescription and then take me to mum's. Agreed. Was expensive but less than cost of 2 separate journeys and saved time (and probably money because I might have been tempted by the little cafe again but held on till I got to mum's and had some toast).

Felt totally wiped out but had a chilled morning and a new haircut (mum was having a perm and the hairdresser fits me in whilst mum is 'cooking'. Mum paid for the haircut so only a small spend as part of the taxi fares. Came home early just before the afternoon school run started and mainly read and dozed since then.

Have several areas I can work on over the weekend - looking for more diy things and putting them in the yard for a start. These are things like small pieces of leftover trim from the new bathroom and kitchen bits done 3 years ago - if I haven't needed them in 3 years, they can go. They are only bits because the sink backsplash and the wall above the cooker were done with leftover bits of bathroom ceiling cladding and trim. Putting them in the yard doesn't take a lot of effort and they can all be kept in one small area.

Today I am grateful for a new haircut (told her to cut it short enough so I only have to ruffle it with my fingers - don't even need to comb it for a few weeks), for all the grab bars on mum's walk in shower (had to lean against the wall and feel for them at one point whilst washing my hair) and for a good lightweight feel good read.
My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.

    Hi all :j:j

Just a quick check in tonight, ate in for a change with food bought mainly YS the other day. Did spend as had lots of trousers taken up - both for DH & I - at the local (Russian lady) dressmaker. The trousers were bought v cheaply at an MnS outlet, all the right waist size for DH but all with mega-long legs, which he doesn't have :rotfl: Now he has a whole new wardrobe, very happy.

Will be a going out day tomorrow to a market quite a way away, but it's very nice there.

ccl - another thing I used as well which might help was This Works pillow spray, you may have tried it already but it has very good reviews.

lovelifeloveliving hope you enjoy crufts, I’ll be there too today. I’m so excited!

Yesterday was a good day. SFD number 4, resisted all temptations to spend and ate out of the fridge and cupboards. Did lots of little jobs at work and taught and then ran an optional lesson after school (on a Friday) and 23 students turned up! That made my week! Will be doing the same again each week but alternating days to give everyone a chance to attend at least one. Then had a very chilled night on the sofa cuddling my dogs :) More PADs made and can’t wait for payday to pay off the next big chunk.

Have a lovely day all, I’ll be cuddling dogs all day :)

It's not selfish to love yourself, take care of yourself and to make your happiness a priority. It's necessary.

Make yourself a priority. At the end of the day, you're your longest commitment.

    Hi all,

I've had a week of being unwell (again) with sore throat & ear ache, the kind I remember getting as a kid but Im feeling much brighter now.
I've managed to stay in budget, my cat took ill & needed £60s worth of treatments from the vets but weirdly an on going complaint from m&s bank was also resolved this week & they credited my account with £75 :T So it all balanced out.
I have £170 left to my name for March but I have over paid my loan & Im on track to over pay by another £200 next month.:money:
Goodness knows what today will bring , the weather is awful so baking with my boys & Teddys picnic I think! I was definitely led on by the nice weather last week

It's my birthday today and I was hoping to get out walking for the day but that won't be happening thanks to the weather. Not sure what we will do really, not much probably.

I now need to find a way to stop my 4 year old from talking non-stop so I can think about learning. OMG!!! I love him so much but it is relentless!!

I remember walking the legs off mine just so I knew they would pass out on the sofa for 2 hours in the afternoon, and I would be able to get on and do stuff more efficiently. That and 45 minutes in the pool after a (very) early lunch guaranteed a fast asleep tot all afternoon. When they get to the teens, and you only really see them at mealtimes, you do miss the happy incessant, joyful, little chatterboxes. Mine are at peak invisibility right now. I did check their bedsheets were not made of velcro, but it seems they can escape them, should they want to:rotfl:. They just don't want to, so enjoy them, cos they don't want to talk to you forever. :(:(:(.

2 kids at pingpong already, I have a 4000 points if you spend £40 at Mr M's Shopping Emporium loaded onto my card, so £40.01 shall be spent today, I have a list. I am going now. Lovely sunny coldish morning in Le'Shire, it will be chucking it down by afternoon, so laundry on line this morning (already washed), and I have written my trusty list of doom for Saturday.

On your marks..... get set...... Go!

    Happy Birthday, dolly!!

Still full of snot - can't sleep properly as a result (vix type stuff not doing it for me) and am so lethargic this morning. Was lovely looking when I got up at just after 7 (was awake before then but just tried to rest in bed) but is now tipping it down. Only myself and DS3 up at the mo - but OH needs to get up, as he has to go into the next town to collect his new jacket and waistcoat - they were altered for free and bought in clearance and we had free vouchers (raffle prize from several years ago) so he paid c £30 for the 2 :T He wants to wear them out tonight - we are out for a meal with bestie and hubby. Frankly, I'd rather stay in and veg out on sofa but friend has a voucher to use by next weekend and we have a voucher from tcb cashout and we have an easy sitter for smalls tonight (DD) as opposed to getting my mum next weekend (she is doing school runs am and pm for me most of next week, so I can't take the mick)

Routines have fallen by wayside this week due to my cold and being tired. However, the bones are still in place, so can rebuild on those when I have more energy :) Have not been tracking food and also been lacking in steps (same reasons) but will get back on that too. Some decluttering still going on, though - took some unwanted Xmas present mugs into work, along with a pile of scrap paper and have a full box to take to CS (although about 2/5 of it are things from my nan's house)

Food waste - had to throw half a pack of bacon - not been eating it where not feeling right and hadn't paid attention to fridge contents. Annoyed about it, as was an easy save earlier in week by throwing into freezer instead :( Also got rid of 1 pineapple ring which has been sat in fridge for 10 days - again, I could've frozen it..... Am normally all over this :(:(

Hmmm - since starting this post the weather has gone from dark skies and heavy rain to bright blue, with a few fluffy clouds and definite sun!

Off for more liquid refreshment - cup of tea number 4 :D
    xx

They come back :) - my eldest 2 when they come back from uni are chatterboxes in the kitchen around the table - I literally have to send them away so I can go to bed/ go out or something! It's lovely, though - although the increase in noise level takes some getting used to again at first! (If they're back for a while or (like DD this week) have a lot of work to do they do still go and hibernate in their rooms again - but when they *do* emerge they talk more and they are much more appreciative of cooking/ cleaning being done for them nowadays! ;):D
