So if there’re not happy with its origins, it will go back to the person I sold the watch to? So he would of basically got the watch for free and I’m out of pocket great!

    That would be madness.

If they think you're laundering money for someone, they don't send it back to the person and say "Sorry, mate, you'll need to launder your dirty cash elsewhere. Try Barclays."

No, they'd send it back and say "Sorry, mate, you'll need to launder your dirty cash elsewhere. Try HSBC." ;)

Been to branch today and they are still not let me take the mo year out even with the letter as it’s still under investigation? What else is there to investigate I’ve sent them the receipt from the guy who bought the watch from me from his end and proof of delivery?! I’m so co fused now, what’s the point in sending the letter if they give me the money stating they will?
I reckon the money movements of the recipient will be investigated now. This could take a while, especially since the recipient is not in the UK.

Sorry, I’m a bit confused? So they would give it to me and just basically tell me to pee off with the money and go elsewhere? If so that isn’t very professional and I hope that doesn’t put a CIFAS on my credit file as I haven’t done anything wrong but they seem to think I have. I don’t want their business anyway after treating me like this especially when I have a 14 week old baby! I’m going to ring Finanial Ombusmans service today and see what they say about all of this

Only if they determine the money is legitimate. Obviously not if they think it's dirty.

I’ve opened one with Barclays but haven’t received anything in the post yet. I had an email the day I registered for one and they said they will write to me in the next few days with the results of my application?

So Lloyd’s would keep the money for themselves then if they think it’s dirty? It’s really stressing me out as I haven’t done anything wrong, just sold a watch! Have they not got anything better to do and try and catch real criminals

When Lloyds resolve the issue do a switch to another bank and get the switching bonus.

The general advice on the Forum is to have several bank accounts so that you have some flexibility for when these frozen account problems arise.
