Happy weekend everyone
.
Managed to limp to 10 NSDs with a little bit of month to go (phew!). Big shop this week so we are now fully stocked with bog roll and tins, in the events of ... events.
About to head out for a run then off to meet a friend.
Today I am grateful for: good friends, my comfy dressing gown, coffee.0 -
Hi everyone.
Managed 5 NSDs with a few days left. So hoping for another one or two. Have been eating out of the freezer but will need a serious shop soon.
I’m grateful every day for my nice warm home and half decent health, happy job that I love, fab family and friends.
I got paid yesterday and sorted out my savings first.
Done lots of jobs such as cleaning out fridge and decluttering. Looking forward to February.All my views are just that and do not constitute legal advice in any way, shape or form.£2.00 savers club - £20.00 saved and banked (got a £2.00 pig and not counted the rest)Joined Store Cupboard Challenge]0 -

Chill out – even if it’s only 15 minutes a day Iron broken!:eek::eek: Only 7 months old (previous one lasted 13 months...) and cost £220:eek::eek: Being repaired under warranty - they will collect it some time next week.....
)
So sorry for your loss. And:eek::eek: to that price tag. Maybe this is the universe's way of telling you that you do too much ironing (I know you love it) and that you need to find 'new to you' ways of relieving your stress (urgently if they aren't even coming for it until next week). If you are in danger of hurting the children, remove yourself from the situation and Breathe. I can recommend cross stitch for chilling out. Or put on some music on and dance around the house (not in front of the children if they are likely to take the Michael).

Hello everyone
Motherned - Happy belated birthday
People doing the 1p a day challange I am just crossing off random days with left over change. I want to use the money to pay off CC would you wait till you have it all and pay it off or once a month or 2 months empty it and pay off the CC? Most of it is 0% but just over £1K I am paying interest on.
Grateful for: Not being really cold today
DS dad actually being kinda understanding about CMS
Fan at work (heating is set to Bahamas I think!)

Re your CC - if you paid £50 off it, does it reduce the 1K that interest is charged on, or does it reduce the 0% bit? If it reduces the balance upon which interest is charged then I'd be paying it off the CC as soon as possible - it will make a difference to the total amount of interest charged in the end. If their t&c are such that the 0% balance is repaid first in its entirety and then the payments reduce the 1k interest accruing part, then I'd leave the money in a savings account xxI am the master of my fate; I am the captain of my soulRepaid mtge early (orig 11/25) 01/09 £124616 01/11 £89873 01/13 £52546 01/15 £12133 07/15 £NILNet sales 2024: £200 -

thank you xx

It was supposed to rain here today but it didn't actually start until 4pm so I am glad we went out for the day. We went for a riverside walk which starts from our favourite little town, I took my lunch as vegan food is quite overpriced I find, DH and kids had a sandwich, crisps and a drink plus DH got a 4 pack of Mars Bars for some reason. All this amounted to £11.50 plus DH bought a top for the gym in the charity shop for £2.50. I am feeling quite smug about not spending anything. BTW our money is joint so if he spends we both spend and vice versa.
Made vegan spicy pulled pork wraps for tea. Will have a glass of wine and my last vegan magnum later whilst snuggling up in front of a film.Debt Free and now a saver, conscious consumer, low waste lifestyler

HUgs for when you need them.:D:D:D Thank you - I've borrowed an iron from my mum - I'd have bought a cheap one otherwise (I could have given it to one of the student children afterwards) - I am not going to send my children/ myself/ my husband out in unironed clothes! I'm really not in any danger of harming my children and if I was dancing around the living room they would laugh - but with me as they joined in!
And for me cross stitch would be torture - my eyesight for close work isn't brilliant and I'd want it (the finished item) to be 'just right' and I wouldn't know what to do with a finished item

Make plans for the month –
Always pay your debts first yep
List your frogs – 22 completed. Slipping a bit...
Little savings - transferred most of a month's council tax payment to hol fund as it's not due in Feb
Chill out – even if it’s only 15 minutes a day Chilled &lazy Sat so far. Will iron to Casualty.
Helping others –– Organised some things and put aside for school tombola
Always be grateful write down three things you are grateful for. a lie-in, DS2 trying several new foods - and finding 1 which was acceptable! :j, a lazy day
New to You
Get involved –check in Yep
Exercise Would like to average 10k steps/ day over the month Today has been abysmal! :rotfl:
Sort it out – food cupboards and stores. DoneEaten from stores
Spends (for my benefit to keep track)
* Food - 363.92 (includes some things for students + gpig food stuff + some Brex1t-apocalypse stocking up!!)
* Bdays/Xmas - 10.70
* House - 134.67 (includes bathroom scales, stocking up on loo rolls, WM repair, cleaning items, some things for students + DIY)
* Toiletries - 2.41
* Children - 27.75 (inc new calc for DS2 + Chimp book for DS3, school trip for DS3)
* Grrrrrr - 35.00 - penalty notice received by OH
* Social - 82.74
* Travel - 164.20 (parking + fuel) (will be partly offset by some reimbursed mileage expenses for OH)
* Self-care - 66.50 (barbers OH, DS1 + DS2, my hair, my eyebrows)
* Clothing - 11.00 (DS1 PJs)
Food isn't bad, considering - I spent maybe £30 at start of month for students (and then they had a lot of stuff we already had in) and another £30 on some stocking up items. We have been using things up too - but have replaced spaces with other items, so it's more a case of stock-rotation than making space
Bdays/ Xmas - most of that was taken up by DS2's bday cake
House - avoidable cost was scales (but they are being used - it was all very well me tracking calories, but I like seeing the numbers on the scales change too!) WM repair - unavoidable & essential but hopefully not repeated in the near future!
Toiletries - deodorant + a spare handwash (latter is unlikely to get used until March, I would guess)
Children - DS2 apparently lost his calc months ago.... I consider the purchase of a new one essential. Book was interesting and enjoyed by DS3 (a rarity!) School trip - I could have put half of the cost off until March but didn't see the point - there's bound to be another one to pay for by then!
Grrrr - avoidable. 'Nuff said
Social - meal for 6 at Nand0s for DS2's bday (cost lessened by having 1 meal free) which also tied in with the day before the students went back. I'd say value for money at that price
Travel - 2 lots of fuel for OH's car (162) + small parking cost for Nand0's trip. However, OH has £300 in fuel expenses to claim at month end :T
Self care - there's usually at least 1 barbers cost per month (11.50 or 10, depending upon age of person) Mine (32) hadn't been done for around 7 months, though
Clothing - I'd say that's a low spend month on clothes! (DD has bought herself 2 pairs of jeans today - but used a Xmas gift card, so no cost to her or me)
