Hello!
Boiler control panel whatnot decided to become a disco light, so not knowing if it was the unit, or it actually had a problem somewhere, I had to bite the bullet and get a man in. It ended up costing £140, but that is what the EF is for isn't it? When you can't turn the heating on, or heat the water, and when the man goes, you still have some money left in the bank the week before payday.
So, yesterday was not a NSD, and today was food shop and I manged to come in at £52 with all meals planned until next weekend. Huzzah!
I am going to try and kill the frog list by the end of the weekend. Get rid of those current frogs, and start working toward getting more things off the other lists.
So, here I am, checking in, quite a bit poorer, but still solvent, with heating, food in the house, and motivation aplenty.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

Well done f0xh0les.
Well after a few days of sleeping and dozing, last night was can't get to sleep. Somewhere around 4am I decided to concentrate on staying awake and to just plough on through (had set the alarm as I had an appointment).
The appointment might have been worrying me. Doctor Dan has referred me (with my consent) to the Specialist weight Management Service and although I knew no-one was going to say "Who ate all the pies .... and followed it with chocolate cake", it felt a bit last chance saloon and pathetic.
Bought most of mum's shopping last night, made a special (very difficult) trip to B00ts this morning, only to find they no longer do rolls of cotton wool, only make up pads, larger pads and tiny cotton wool balls (about a quarter of the size of proper balls - think I've seen bigger peas). The two assistants were very helpful, went to look upstairs and tried to order it specially but no go.
Was hurting a lot, so stopped at the taxi office and went straight to the infirmary rather than coming home and phoning from here.
Appointment went well but over-ran (all the appointments had so it got later and later). I had asked how long it would be when booking so that I would have enough time to get to film club. Tried to phone mum when we were up to the finish time with a million forms to go but could not get through.
I now have appointments with dietitian/ physiotherapist and one with the occupational therapist and a six month review. They also do a couple of group things, one exercise based. We are also going to ask my gp to refer me to the sleep clinic as I may have sleep apnoea. My ex husband always insisted I did and it would account for my poor sleep pattern and it messes with your hormones making it difficult to lose weight.
Basically I do have lots of good sound reasons for losing weight, it is something I can take charge of rather than having thrust upon me but I do tend to put other people's needs first and when life gets busy, my plans go to pot.
Occupational therapist may be able to suggest equipment and adaptations which could help me so I want to write a list. The frog I mentioned last night was cleaning the windows (inside). The bathroom window is not too bad (someone has drawn a turtle which showed up when we had that day of sunshine) but cannot remember when I did the kitchen windows. Can't even remember when I managed to reduce the pile of pots and other stuff so that I could get to the window (sill anyway).
Once upon a time I would stand on the draining board to clean the big window. That is no longer an option. Having got the clothes washing and pot washing under control and as I clear more small areas, I am noticing jobs that need doing which have been waiting for 'a good day' and I will have to accept that some of them are now simply beyond me. Someone else needs to do them or find another solution.
On a happier note, despite having confessed to numerous bad eating habits (eating when sad, bored and even just in pure frustration at not being able to do simple tasks) and having eaten 3 boxes of chocolates earlier this week, I have lost 4lbs since the doctor weighed me on January 8th.
I arrived at the library just before the film started (spent 5 pounds on taxis to make the appointment). It was "Whistle Down the Wind" which mum had not seen (I've seen it at least twice). Very good, sad and funny and very 'northern' (filmed in Burnley). Afterwards mum headed for the taxi office and I came round the other way to collect her shopping and waited with her until her taxi arrived.
I'm now back on the bed, have munched my way through a bag of celery sticks with leftover party dips and have sandwich makings (took wraps out of the freezer last night) and a bag of bananas. Planning to sloth and then make lists.
Today I am grateful for the weekend starting here, good food, a good meeting and managing to turn my head in a positive direction (thanks to the Pogues, REM, Bobby McFerrin (sharing his video with Christopher Reeves and Robin Williams), Bruce Springsteen, The Travelling Willburys (sans Roy), James, Van the Man and Sinead O'Connor).

Today I am grateful for:
Being able to go to bed before 9pm and hopefully get a good night of sleep.
My fantastic friends and family who rally round to help me do two jobs at once during exam time.
You lovely lot, helping me to keep the faith even when I haven't got a spare 5 minutes in the day.
Thanks for offering to run February Mothernerd.
My financial management has been a bit non existent since I got sick. Not that I'm wildly spending, just not keeping track. Mind you there have been wild spends on medicines of all varieties - who knew cough syrup could cost £7 a bottle, and that I'd need 2 bottles? Other than that though I'm on expenses for most of this week so happy daysNot giving up

Hi lovely turtles,
NSD today as I've got a lesson. So still on 18. I could probably still count it but I won't as its pre budgeted. on 18.
Didn't get paid yesterday, I got a text at 2pm saying they'll pay us next week. Its fine, as it happens, but honestly I think it's cheeky! What if we did need the cash:mad:
had our friends over last night with all their kids to make pizzas with my boys, didn't cost a fortune & the kids enjoyed themselves.
parents are taking us out for tea tonight0
