List your frogs – I have listed my frogs. I’ve been working on them and noticed that I’m picking off the little frogs and avoiding the big ones. I need to do better on this.

Little savings – I am taking my own lunch and am avoiding buying coffee this month. For each day that I don’t spend, I’m transferring the money to my savings. Day 10/16 - v pleased with this one and v grateful for the group on here. Knowing I have to report back is definitely keeping me on the straight and narrow:p.

Chill out – been using headspace more this last week. I love the new sleep section :). I know this isn’t for everyone but it def helps me. I’ve fallen behind with the crochet along though.

Helping others – I add extra items to my shop specifically as donations for our local food bank.

Always be grateful – I write in my journal. Doing this daily. I’m grateful for good family and friends and being lucky to have supportive people around me.

New to You - I am recycling old yarn for the CAL I’m doing, instead of buying new yarn. I’m determined to resist buying, even though the yarn pack looks so pretty! (It’s the CAL from attic 24, if anyone’s interested / also doing it).

Get involved – Hello again! And a late Happy Birthday to mothernerd!

Exercise – I signed up for RED January (for Mind). I’m keeping up with the walking but really should be doing more of it.

Sort it out – planning to do more this week. Didn’t get around to sorting anything last week! Still behind on this one :o

    Hi all

NSD-Today is NSD number 17/20. Although its taken some will power because I've really felt like spending money today for some reason :rotfl:
Make plans- asked my friend if she would like to come to the cinema next week. Tickets are 4.99& I'll take my own snacks:)
    Frogs- none today.
Little savings- all extra is going on the car loan except for our 2 help to buy ISAs.

Chill out- about to get in the bath.

Helping others- gave someone a lift before.
Gratitudes- for microwavable hot water bottles, slippers & blankets keeping us all snug (heating is on but goodness me its cold). For having plenty of food in ( DS came back down stairs at 7.30 & told me he was hungry & hes since eaten an apple, an orange & half a tin of peaches & then skipped off back to bed -I swear he will be a butterfly by morning! ) & for my neighbours just generally being a lovely bunch!!
    Get involved- here
Sort it out- still trying to use things up.
Think that's it for me!! :money:Have a nice evening all :D

Quiet day. A NSD. Mum phoned to say I need not go (trying to snow) but I would have lain awake all night worrying that she had fallen on the path trying to put her bin out.

So I went and did the bin, put salt on the path and all around the door and the tops of the bins (so the lids don't freeze shut).

Finished reading my book, mum started a puzzle, I made tea, mum has taken some of the bits (carrots, peppers. mushrooms) to add to her planned veg lasagne at the weekend and I've brought the leftover salads and dips home. I had fruit loaf toast there and brought back half the scones and ginger cake - mum kept saying she would let me have some of 'her cake' and I kept saying it was my birthday cake.

I sorted more jigsaw for mum - completed the edges and picked out most of the bits for the building in the middle. Further sorted into roofline (half sky/ half roof tiles), roof tiles, windows, creeper growing up the side wall and the sign all across the front. If she tackles those bits first, she should be able to fill in the gaps.

Lovely relaxing day (ankle nagging again) and plan to hibernate for the next two days. Today I am grateful for lovely food, the snow not settling (ice on the handrail and tops of bins when I came home) and deciding to put my own bin out early on (really don't like those pavements and I do have a track record for falling on ice - even DS3 was worried about me).

Saw a good one yesterday with 2 lovely girls which I've said I'm interested in, so waiting to hear back. Grateful for nice welcoming people and a free hour at work. Take care walking around in that weather you're having guys!! x

We had snow! for all of 3 minutes. maybe twice.:rotfl:I love hearing 'Snake Pass is closed' on the radio. We were moving house -2 houses ago-, and were half way along when it was closed due to snow and a lorry slide, and we had to turn around and drive back to an unfurnished house, full of boxes and no food - luckily we had just moved the mattresses over so we did not have to sleep on the floor. The kids were so excited! Had to drive back the next morning via Woodhead pass as the keys to the house had to be with the Estate Agents and we needed to move the rest of the stuff in a mad hurry. Happy days and memories. Still love the snow. Even though we dont have any:rotfl:.
NSD 17, hit the ys sale last night after school meeting that went on til nearly 8, so I have a freezer full of 10p bread and a fridge full of mushrooms and salad. :T

No frogs eaten, still in budget, keep warm Turtles - I am rarely to be found sat down without a hot water bottle, but it does mean I don't have to turn the heating on during the day as I am toasty! yay to the low tech solution:j

  • Happy belated birthday Mothernerd and glad you remained upright in the ice.

NSD 9/10 for me yesterday - I did buy some vitamins for Youngest on Mon but countingbthat as medical (also in the HB penny sale so 2 for 1).

Excercise - must do a run this morning. Am keeping up with extra walks at lunchtime, managing 12k steps most days. Have also lost another couple of pounds, despite eating pretty much what I feel like :rotfl:. That will likely plateau as I get used to the extra moving about.

Shop today and will be adding a few bits to stores.

Need to try and reverse my usual habits and have a frugal few weeks after pay day, as Feb half term is the week before I get paid. We aren't planning a huge amount, but it would be nice to have some leeway for the odd day out.
  • Today signals NSD 15/17.

I've brought HM soup with me for lunch and all my ingredients are in the house for dinner tonight. I've got football tonight which will cost £5 but as it's a recurring, weekly and budgeted spend, it thankfully doesn't spoil a NSD.

Been to the gym this morning and ran 3 miles (knackered now) and I've football training tonight, so I've definitely done my exercise for the day.

NSD – 15/15 – yeh hit my target hoping to exceed this as I want to save as much as possible this month

Make plans for the month – none

Always pay your debts first – budget for food set –all updated budgets updated

List your frogs – chewed a huge frog as managed to get the bathroom gloss done which has only been waiting to be done since October!!! Next big frog to be tackled is at the weekend as we will be painting the second half of DS2’s bedroom and again not much glossing to be done so I am planning to do our bedroom door as that got missed when we did our bedroom as I put my back out halfway through.

Little savings – continued collecting in my 365 challenge up over £30 now

Chill out – good chill out on Saturday and Sunday evening after working all day painting and doing normal weekend chores. Not really done much this week as have been shattered so good chilling.

    Helping others – will do

Always be grateful – 3 things I am grateful for are:

    - the snow coming and going quickly
    - for a warm house
    - for DS2 loving his new bed

    New to You – nothing

    Get involved – checking in

Exercise – steps done every day so far

Sort it out – need to rearrange freezers again as I bought some frozen bits over the weekend which need to be put away properly. Looking to buy a new freezer as ours is 12 years old and is starting to have lots of ice round the lid even though we defrost and clean it regularly.

Day off today. DH is at home too, we would have gone cycling or running this morning but it is too icy at the moment. DH has done the school run and is then calling to pick up a parcel we weren't in for yesterday, it is 2 new tyres for our trailer which I think he will fit later.

Plan for the day is to return an item and get a £5 refund, pay £20 of my Christmas money into the bank to pay for things I bought on ebay, walk the dog, clean upstairs, wax the freshly painted cupboard, call at the tip recycling shop, sort laundry, check bank, get the boiler serviced, school run and possibly a run later.
