  • Thanks for the Dan Carlin recommendation speky I may give them a go. DH and I are history geeks and like stuff to listen to in the car.

Meant to be an NSD today but I popped into my favourite charity shop as they were clearing their clothing for £1 each. Got DD a lovely dress with the bluddy label still on! Boots as well (expensive for baby clothes) for £1 and a Next dress for 50p for spring. Also looks unworn. Who are the people that buy these things new?... Having said that I then visited the M&S sale for her and got her some PJs for later in the year for a couple of quid. Depending on how she grows I think she'll get 6 months use out of them.

Also had a £5 medical spend.

Other than that was picking up orders, returning things and taking baby library books back. So walking around with the pram for a few hours after a rubbish baby group this morning. I hate how cliquey women can be with babies. I'm an adult and have been for far too long to participate in such nonsense. My age is showing...

    Gratitudes
    - for a good long leg stretch
    - for getting all my "town chores" done so we can stay in tomorrow
    - for getting dinner made at lunchtime so all it can just be bunged in the oven later

Spend free days (NSD’s) – 4/20. NSD today. Brought my own lunch to work.

Make plans for the month – Planning to see 2 films at cinema. Will bring my own refreshments. The cost is £4.99 per film. A friend texted me about meeting up next Saturday. Just waiting to confirm details.

Always pay your debts first – Budget set. No debt. Do have savings, monthly DD already set up. Will add extra when I can.

List your frogs – No frogs done today.

Little savings – Any change from each week I will put coins into coin bags and when full will put into savings accounts. Also am always on the lookout for roadkill.

Chill out – This I already do. Will carry on with self-care, eg meditation, reading, wordsearch. This is very important for my MH. Only managed a small bit of self care.

Helping others – Will be looking into food bank donation. Cash donation already done to charity and some bits to cs.

Always be grateful – Grateful for: Temp work. Jessica Fletcher. Going to have an early night.

New to You – This I will be doing. Got quite a few cross stitch kits that I can start on.

    Get involved – Checking in

Exercise – I also have joined up for R.E.D. January. Done walking to from bus stop/school. Also whilst doing exam invigilating.

Sort it out – Will be making sure I am using everything up. Will be using up my toiletries – these I have really got down and monitoring them closely.

  • Hello :coffee:
Well, I have survived my first day back at school relatively unscathed. I'm a bit tired, but it's one out of the way for now :D Was nice to catch up with everyone again as well, plus Monday is a busy day for me teaching wise so it flew over.
Wasn't a nsd - got back to the car after school and noticed a bulge on the repaired tyre so I took it to the tyre place and had it replaced. Boo hiss, but better safe than sorry.
Swallowed another couple of frogs since I got home - I've been to the doctors and I've made another appointment that I've kept putting off.
    Today I'm grateful for:
getting through a full teaching day after 2 weeks off :rotfl:
ds having a cup of tea ready for me when I got in from the tyre place :happylove
prepping meals so that I didn't resort to takeaway when I've been so busy.

On 7 NSDs, used up my Costa loyalty points that had accumulated for a coffee to cheer me up. I am doing well, on the whole. Awaiting a refund on some returns seems to the thing I am most looking forward to at the mo... think I am officially sad!
Grateful for catching up with friends and not spending money in the process :)

Feeling surprisingly chipper for a Monday, I think its because I knew it would be an NSD :j 3/10

    Exercise and chill out done

New to you - Found some stationery stashed away that I am taking joy in using (rather than raiding Paperchase and the like!)

    Today I am grateful for:
Speaking to my sister on the phone
Saving a good podcast for the morning commute
That my partner managed to get our dog out of the fountain that she jumped in, and home and showered before I came home :rotfl:
It definitely gave me a giggle!

I'm grateful that my room looks so good - now that I've been out and come back to it. Quietly happy (hoping to build to deep joy). Good service from my taxi firm. Me: could I have a taxi please, Switchboard: ok love I'll send one round to you (no address or destination given) and the taxi was waiting when I was locking the gate.

  • NSD 6/10 today! Super pleased with that (even though I’ve been in bed with flu for 4 of them haha!). In all seriousness, I would’ve usually consoled myself with some online shopping buying something that I probably didn’t need, so it’s a definite improvement! I JUST NEED TO KEEP GOING AND NOT GIVE UP AT THE FIRST HURDLE! Being accountable on here is helping no end.

Things I am grateful for today... being organised (with finances, meal planning etc) it really does give me a buzz! Watching a lovely film with hubs and an extra half an hour in bed in the morning (even if it’s because I’ve got a dentist appointment before going in to the office!) :rotfl:
