Hi all:j
NSDs – Aiming for 10 as am going away on 22nd for a few days (Christmas treat) : Now 4/ 10
Make plans for the month – Planned visit to Barcelona later in the month. Rail ticket & plane already paid for. No more plans yet.
Always pay your debts first – No debts but do use a cc which is paid in full every month...need to rein this in, spending has been frightful of late..CC paid off in full, now need to make sure it doesn't rack up to those levels this month. No more spends today & keeping them low from now on. Keep getting tempted by sales emails but so far have resisted all blandishments..
List your frogs – Need to do this, although dealt with a massive frog which was working out the amount taken out of business ac as it had to be paid back in order not to incur a lot of tax. Took me ages & was very shocked at amount needing to be repaid...will take this in hand as of NOW. OK took some time today & listed a fair few frogs at long last. Actually dealt with a small one, many more to come..Dealt with another small frog today (froglet???). Started another very large frog today, but am pleased with progress. (Clearing bedroom). During this also found a brand new sealed cover for the sofa bed promised to DD (could be 2 items out of the house!!) and also a brand new fitted jersey sheet....treasure. More frog dealing today & DH also asked for list of 'things he could do', made sure I found a few items for him..
Little Savings – Put in a £2 coin that I had in my change the other day, will get cash out & pay in to bank. Joined 1p challenge..Will add to moneybox tonight. Also have some money in TCB, meant to access for Christmas but didn't so it should have mounted up.
Chill out – working on this. One of my frogs is to start doing some complex knitting...as I am supposed to be doing a 'knitalong'. So far have not even started. Chilled out doing some gardening today. Actually planted 4 things that have been in pots forever. Again as weather good did gardening for chill out time, planted another couple of things, am on a roll..
Helping others –Regular shift in CS.
Always be grateful – Grateful for today:
- Fine weather
- getting some frogs seen to
- sticking to more healthy eating
New to You – Have more than enough of pretty much everything clothes wise etc but still looking online, forced self not to purchase. Will need printer ink soon as all run out. Will be shopping tomorrow but don't need much. Done food shopping but still will be going to the big store tomorrow with DD....do not intend to buy .. OK did buy so no NSD again today. However, DD wants a sofa bed so offered her the one in the sunroom...if it works will get more space & she gets a free item win-win. DD brought some packets of porridge she no longer eats but I will. Lots of things I will be able to wear should I lose some weight. Surely that should be an incentive? Have told DH no clothes handbags or shoe purchases this year....he said he is the same  Lets see if we stick to it! First day of healthy eating
Get involved – Late but here! Again.
Exercise – Out in garden today, did some digging & pruning.
Sort it out – Need to do this & will be eating from stuffed freezers & cupboards for January. Ate something from freezer for supper & made do with stuff in fridge for lunch. DH helped with jammed freezer drawers - it was on his list:rotfl:...caused by me going into unlit garage & fighting off 2 dogs whilst removing/adding stuff to upright freezer, then quickly shutting door. Not easy..But now have inventory of that freezer other than top drawer, amazing amount of food it holds!!
GO Turtles!!!!New start JAN15 - NOT BUYING IT 2015 . Long haul DFW #145 : 2011 DEBTBUSTING : £5500 OD GONE, £2000 OD - GONE £93,610.30 cc & loan debt - GONE 27.6.14 FINALLY DEBT & MORTGAGE FREE :happyhear0 -
Morning everyone,
Today will be NSD 4/17.
I managed to keep all my spends for Saturday; dads birthday present, upgrade my mums Xmas present, food shopping for the week and pay my gas and electricity bill. This was all coupled with eating lots of frogs; tidying the flat, organising my direct debits, sorting some letters, making a meal plan for the week ahead, budgeting for January and the remainder of the year and doing a ton of ironing.
Go to say, I do love being productive. I find it addictive. I want to continue in that vein, both in my personal life and in work too. So much so that I've been to the gym this morning (the earliest I've ever been, 6am) and I arrived in work early too. This level of productivity isn't perhaps sustainable but I'll try!!
My gratitude for today;
- YNAB. Gives me peace of mind that my finances are all in order
- My new Xbox game. It allowed me to spend time, online, with my friends from home over the weekend
- My football team. They're a great group of guys.
- The Hardcore History podcast. I'n nearly finished 5 hours of podcasting about atomic bombs. Not a subject I'm particularly interested in but Dan Carlin makes it interesting. Highly recommended.
Have a super day everyone!0 -
Morning all! Belated happy birthdays, congrats to all parents of birthday folk, get wells and glad you are getting betters!
I’m glad I just read Speckys update as I need to get my productivity hat back on...thanks for the motivation that comes through in your post.
NSD still 2/15
Plans for month - getting there. They all have a shape just not tied down to a date yet!
Debts first - PAD to both cc’s this weekend
List frogs. With no effort at all I came up with 107 tasks that were bothering me, over and above the daily chores. Amazing the mental load we all carry around with us of stuff to do. Have wiped off a couple and just been through and highlighted which involve £ and which are just time and effort. Surprised me that the majority fell into the latter category. So, no excuses!
Little savings - borrowed from pot I started at beginning of month for car parking. Over £1.50 in there already! Then repaid it as machine was only taking cards.
Chill out - enforced chill out time yesterday as was poorly! Reading rather than screens to avoid making headache worse. Before that, had a lovely walk on section of long distance path on Saturday, with a planned pub lunch at the start and a unplanned taxi ride back to start point as we had overestimated our pace on the hills and darkness was coming! Was happy though it was all an adventure. Unfortunately then became ill so it was a grim trip home. Better now!
Helping others - listened to a new friend, sorted more stuff for cs
Gratitudes - DDs company & her tenderness when I was ill, hot water bottles, medication!
New to you - am swapping various house and clothes bits with a friend today, win win.
Get involved - hiya!
Exercise - have managed some fun outdoor exercise every couple of days so far. Noticed how it dropped when I went back to work. Will try to counter this. But not today. Today is a day of rest!
Sort it out! - my freezer triage has been successful in encouraging DD and myself (separately and together) to plan meals around the use it up drawer. Have been working my way through gluten free porrridge oats some guest or another left last year. One more portion to go, I think. Today’s was with a almost past it banana. Planning to sort food cupboards out and bring odds and ends to the front in a similar way... soon!0 -

Morning guys
Not much to report here. But another NSD today for me so that is good.
I’m grateful for posting on here to keep me on track, for a nice cup of tea and for OH cooking tea because I’m on afternoons today and won’t want to cook when I get home.
I’ve still not done my list of frogs but will try to start it later.
Have a good day everyone

Did not go to bed until 3.15 am but I had clean sheets and very little on my bed but me (bed tray with cup of water, book I was reading and my glasses because I fell asleep reading). 3 pillows under my head, 3 under my ankles and had shower before bed.
Shortly before that I was putting together my raskogs. Was doing both but decided to quit when the first was completed - it is my new bedside table and I had fun filling it (pills and bits on the top tier, library books on the middle and large bottle of water, bulky things and stuff that did not fit on the top shelf. As I work my way through the old notebooks, transferring the bits I need it will improve.
Some of the other bits need refining eg put all 'sewing' bits in a small tin and put it next to the sewing stuff. At some point I need to put the bits in the proper drawers but decided doing that in the middle of the grand tidy was counter productive. Tried very hard not to rescue each sequin, pin and other tiny bits from the 'rubble' but did pick out all the pennies - have written down all money found and will transfer it to the toucan for the penny challenge When DS3 gets it down for me.
Found more money. I had told DS2 that I had his Christmas money from grandma but we agreed that I would keep hold of it until he needed it. He came back the following week but I could not find the card so gave him money from my drawer. So another 50 pounds reclaimed. Rubbish and recycling have gone out.
As well as the penny challenge I have decided to do a 365 giveaway to encourage decluttering. I have done the monthly ones before (donate 1 thing on day 1, 2 on the second etc) but 365 will be a challenge (but necessary). Atm I am not going to count normal household rubbish but may if I have to do a grand trawl for cans and bottles and I am going to count the odd lids and boxes when I sort the plastic boxes. Today I have taken 57 kondo folded carrier bags to one of the charity shops. They were accepted gratefully - replacing the look of fear in her eyes, any more binbags of donations and she would have been trapped behind the counter.
I ache this morning and still waiting for a warm glow of satisfaction (quietly content so far). AS I've said before, I don't mind the aches and pains if I have something to show for it (work/ effort = results), it's when I can't move and haven't done anything.
Today's challenge (not having any problems) was to buy paracetemol, bread and milk for mum. Walking was easier (no death grip on the walker handlebars) but I was very pleased to find out the pound emporium sells milk now (knew they did bread). My original aim was to get as far as her*n to save doing 2 shops in different directions but was so happy to have completed my shopping in one shop and head for home.
Today I am grateful for my fluency and expertise in flatpack assembly, for walking better and for my room being (reasonably) tidy. Just need to keep on and sort the last few niggles - frog fodder. My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage0 -
