    Unsurprisingly DS3 is at home.

Got a phone call before 11.30 so came to get him. He is very chatty, has had his lunch and a bath, and is watching the Blue Planet in his pjs on the sofa, and hoicking through the decorations.

I managed to get the trees assembled , the lights checked, and five cloth advent calendars tied to the middle floor balustrade.

So, going to have to go all Hong Kong Phooey on this one. By day, a mild mannered housekeeper, by night (after kids in bed) the Crime fighting Christmas Fairy who makes a noise when tiptoeing, like this ..................................

Achieved all the things on the list and a bit more. Freezers, fridge and larder all clean and tidy. Feeling really pleased with myself. I now know exactly what we have to use up. I confess a lot of it is leftovers that Himself has frozen because he can't abide any sort of waste. He has honestly been known to freeze one leftover sprout

Dinner tonight is liver and bacon casserole made with the liver Himself bought cheap yesterday and some bacon that was hiding in the bottom of the freezer.

Lots of things to do tomorrow.
Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.

  • You lasted longer than I did f0xh0les - I left work at ten past nine this morning because ds is poorly. Just a cold but a headache that seems to be particularly knocking him off his feet. He was poorly last night but tried to go in this morning - however I knew by the time I was ready for work he wasn't well enough so I popped in to collect some stuff and went straight home via Mr T for some more Calpol and some flavoured water to attempt to keep ds hydrated.
We've had a day of naps and Christmas films which has been lovely.

  • NST will aim for 15. 11/15 spendy day

ORGANISE your time. Will try and find a balance between studying, household chores, family time and me time. had a day off from OU and managed to fit in 10minutes of yoga. Another one here with a child being sent home due to stomach pains at 1:45pm.

VALUES. Ultimate goal is to continue to OP the mortgage but to keep in mind ethical, environmental and family values.

ENJOY yourself. Try and do something everyday that I enjoy.10 minutes of yoga

MAKE an inventory of the food in your cupboards, fridge and freezer at the start of the month. Meal plan and shop from the cupboards, freezers and allotments first before visiting supermarkets. Still doing this but started to get bits and pieces of food and drink for christmas also.

BUDGETS should be set before the start of the month. Already done will log spends on here and look at, at the end of the month. Will aim to buy something for the food bank every week. Not sure what I've spent these last couple of days as needed some winter clothes for DD2 .

EXERCISE will aim to walk for an hour everyday with the dog.Very short dog walk as school phoned just as I was about to take her out .

IN case of emergency Add any items you might need (torch, shovel for snow, old carpet for traction, extra coat or blanket) to your car boot. If you don't belong to a breakdown organisation, make sure you have phone numbers for friends or relatives who might come and help you. Make sure you and your children can be seen if walking or cycling. Screen wash purchased

NOW is always the right time to start.will aim to have more faith in myself.

NO takeaways, coffee shops, vending machines, canteens unless for a special event. Take your own food and drinks to work, hospital appointments and days out where possible. None today been a good girl

EVERYONE should know their debt free date continuing to pay bank of mum (Nov 2019) and OP the mortgage (another 17 and half years). TT of 85p. Emailed Mortgage adviser with info they wanted to secure deal.

WINTER proof your home, if you haven't already done so. Need to hang new thicker curtains in dining room- still on the list, but bought curtain hooks today just need to find spare rings.

YOU should cook from scratch when you can (unless time is short or it costs more to make) and batch cook. Will aim to do this at least 5 days out of 7.3/7 Homemade burger and chips with salad for tea tonight
OUTSIDE It may be cold but wrap up warm and make the most of the available light - it will help your immune system and your mental health see exercise

    REPORT i'm here

KINDNESS costs nothing. Everyone you meet is carrying some sort of burden, so try to be kind, especially to yourself.Mum asked if we would mind if she went to her brothers for christmas lunch so have arranged for her to come for a sleepover on christmas eve

Hope all poorlies get better soon - whether big or little :) x

Winterproof home - Had the second radiator re-fitted in the kitchen today - so it's much toastier in there now :) Also had boiler serviced :T

In case of emergency - decided that I'm also going to add some rain ponchos to the gear in the car - we've got several acquired as freebies from uni open days in Wales :D Could be handy if the worst happened on a motorway and it was raining - blankets are all very well - but not if they're wet! Will put at least 3 in - covers me and the smalls

Have been stuck at home today - boiler/ radiator chap (arrival time was between 11 and 1 - he arrived at 1 and literally finished as I needed to go out on school run for DS3) and 3 parcel deliveries - first one of which was scheduled within a 2 hour window from 9.30, so came straight back after school run. Lots of running up and down stairs (inc up to loft level) - putting laundry away, hiding Xmas deliveries, helping to turn radiator valves on and off. That's it on the exercise front! :D

Cooked from scratch - porridge, hm falafels and salad, pasta with a thrown together sauce of bacon, heaps of mushrooms, masses of garlic, 2 huge handfuls of spinach and 1/2 punnet tomatoes (not exactly cordon bleu cooking - but very, very tasty!) (and cheap, and filling)

Haven't spent anything today - do need to pay the heating chap, but I can do that tomorrow and retain today as a NSD :)

Extra - invigilation pay arrived (didn't think I was working anything at start of month, so it's an extra!) so have rounded it up and transferred it to holiday fund :) Listed a huge bundle of things as one lot on fb00k and reduced a couple of items already on there

I hope all the kiddiewinks feel better in the morning.

NSDs - 8/10 Spend day today as I bought next year's panto tickets. They were only released yesterday and not many left for the day we like to go. I also left my eye make up remover at home and had to buy some more (luckily it was half price) as I have looked like a panda all day. I also picked up a couple of half price gift sets for my friends daughter's birthday in January for £8 :)

ORGANISE your time - brought my Christmas cards away to start writing

VALUES - didn't use the CC to buy the panto tickets

ENJOY yourself – I had an early night last night and a nice chat with my Mum today. Listened to the last couple of podcasts of Desert Island Discs. Looking forward to reading my book later with a cup or 3 of rooibos earl grey

    MAKE an inventory -Done :j

BUDGETS – will finish Dec budget when I get paid on 30th. MY EF is intact and there is money in a fair few of my YNAB pots

EXERCISE - non today as away with work and no gym in the Premier Inn!

    RULES – back on track

IN case of emergency – DONE

NOW – never eat great when I am away

    NO takeaways – None

EVERYONE Aiming for June 2021 (while I'm still 50) at the latest

EXTRA income – nothing extra done to earn extra

WINTER proof your home – DONE

YOU should cook from scratch - away with work so not possible

OUTSIDE – horrendous weather in Scotland today

    REPORT – I'm here

    KINDNESS - nothing specific

FROGS - no progress to report
    Save £10,500 - £2673.77 - 25.5%
    Pay off £7000 - £1743 - 19.4%
    Make £2021 extra income - £99.75

Today I am grateful for a colleague squirrelling away my balsam tissues when I accidentally left them at work on Monday so they were there for me today, for my classes being mostly considerate of me, for time outside doing me good, for it not raining much whilst I was outside, for getting stuff done, for a good afternoon, for a chat with dh, for still not needing to wear socks, for a very simple tea.
