Not a NSD. I had 2 hours to kill so bought last few bits for stocking and some new rugby boots for DS for Christmas. Took a Christmas decoration back that doesn't work and also got DS a new mouth guard as his is too big and he has a match on Sunday. Should bag one tomorrow.

Had a maccy dees for breakfast as ran out of time but have had no dinner at the hotel as not really hungry (I'm away with work).

No exercise and not been outdoors. Not doing well today!:rotfl:

Greent - I have discovered that if I wear my fitbit on my wrist (in the night time holder thingy) whilst knitting, then I can rack up 1000s of extra steps!

Today I am grateful for a day off work, for balm tissues, for a snuggly duvet, for poirot, for dd going to school as her medical ministrations involve doing things for you every 5 mins whether you are awake or dozing!, for dh earning some extra money, for hm soup waiting for me in the fridge, for clean fresh water.

:D:D Yep - have also been the beneficiary of extra steps when doing something - although not today (currently at 9.3k) - fitbit is on my left wrist, which is strapped up, as my trapped nerve is playing up, so it's in a splint and not been waved about much :)

Bless DD! - gotta love it ometimes when they want to 'help' and all you want is to not be disturbed xx Feel better soon!

Oooh - just thought of something from my fitbit this month - as I've been tracking all food I've eaten a LOT less sugar/ rubbish snacks - my resting hr has fallen from 72 to 61. Definitely not from exercise improvement, as I've not really done much! I g00gled it and sugar rushes can apparently have the same effect as adrenaline on hr - so another reason for me to carry on (will be a lot more temptation around next month, though.....)

Talking of next month - love the theme :)

Day 28 (putting it up now in case of further internet failure)

Phone a relative or an old friend for a chat

Offer your seat to someone on the bus or train

    Offer someone a lift

    Be patient

Give someone a compliment, it will make their day

Give flowers or vegetables from your garden or make cakes for a new neighbour, or an old one

Write a letter - nicer than an e-mail

Pick up litter instead of walking past

Tell someone when they've done something well

Bring your loved ones a drink in bed in the morning

Hold the door open for the next person

Remind your loved ones how much you love them

Bring healthy treats to work - no more cake

Lend someone a book or dvd you think they might like

Offer encouragement to someone who is feeling low

    Be a good listener

I've found 2 library books I was worried about and 3 books for the charity bin + 2 extra items. Lots of washing at the bottom of the stairs so I think my suggestion about cleaning their room (to make room to put up the new to them bed frame as the mattress comes tomorrow) has been taken on board.

Baby steps but they all help.

    Hi all:j

Busy day today & also a few spends. Supermarket shop before CS shift, then a few things from CS, then out to BnQ purchased paint, more paint & radiator paint,

    NSDsStill12/15

ORGANISE your time. Did better today, got up early & also did some prep last night before bed, makes it so much easier in the morning. As it was I could prep lunch, as I don't get back till 1.30pm & then can't be bothered to make something. Will try & do the same tomorrow, have already got chicken out of freezer for supper.

VALUES Differentiate between needs and wants. Purchases on food, lots of DIY stuff & fuel. Rationale is that I don't have to pay someone to do the work, so although paint etc expensive, not bad if I provide the labour.

ENJOY yourself. Shift was good at CS & supervisor was very kind & let me have lots of things very cheaply. We had a donation in with dozens of pairs of shoes, boots, flats etc, nearly all unworn & with labels, mostly costing £6-£80 per pair. The lady apparently said she was going to sell them but then couldn't be bothered. Cue we all got new shoes, those that fitted into them, there was a range of sizes though. My new boots were £3.50, very happy.

MAKE an inventory of the food in your cupboards, fridge and freezer at the start of the month. Frog. Lunch was a pasta salad for me & egg mayo for DH, supper just chips beans & burger for him, fishcake for me but all from stores.

BUDGETS should be set before the start of the month. Frog alert!

EXERCISE 4 times a week, 20 minutes a day. Just the work in CS today, no other exercise.

RULES Turtle rules can be difficult at first. Following the plan as best I can.

IN case of emergency Add any items you might need Got a couple of packets of hot lemons to stock up as some got used.

NOW is always the right time to start. So-so today.

    NO takeaways, None today

EVERYONE Am DF but always could do with more savings towards experiences or holidays. Have some funds I need to pay back to business account, also for items bought in last spending spree... so need to account for those items by December 31. Pending. Frog.

EXTRA Have a ton of stuff that needs to be sold. Back from hols but not dealing with as yet, after weekend out will do. Frog Alert. Helped DD sell her bag we bought her several years ago & she has never used on a FB selling page. She is very happy as it was easy to do.

WINTER Not been fine for ages so can't finish panting. Will probs be fine whilst I'm out sometime this week. Now have paint in so can strike as soon as it stops raining, probably next June.

YOU should cook from scratch, Partially today

    OUTSIDE Briefly

    REPORT regularly I'm here..

KINDNESS Sent a message to friend who is having a major op this week.

    Go Turtles !!!! :j

  • Morning all :). NSDs at 11, not going to make this month's target but not terrible either :).

Xmas win today: Eldest finally decided on a present, did a bit of research via AmZn but ended up buying the same model direct from the supplier via eBay - extra Nectar points :D. Now need to get Xmas pjs and stocking presents with the rest of the budget. Trying to keep festive food spending down too, will start picking up the odd treat with the weekly shop and putting them away. We should only have Xmas Day and Boxing Day at home so no need for piles of food.

Exercise plans on hold as my trainers died :(. I have snowflake feet but managed to find my usual expensive trainers on eBay for a third of the price (brand new) so an unplanned but necessary spend. Money was in the clothing budget so not too bad.
  • Bit of an interesting night. Let's just say bunk beds and children being sick is not a good combination:eek:.

DH is off with DD today and I'll have to take tomorrow (48h exclusion from nursery) by which time she'll hopefully be ok and we can get some stuff done in the house :o

Better get moving to get two days work in one

Yesterday was NSD 12 as I was up a ladder waving my arms about.

Coving looks fabulous in daylight, and artificial light - had to point out to everyone it was done and they obliged me with oohs and ahhs. i know they do not care! I cannot stop looking at it and smiling. Looks like a freshly iced wedding cake, and it makes the ceiling look whiter too, oddly, so I can stop wondering whether to paint the ceiling as it does not need it now. yay!
I would recommend chalk paint, it was nearly a pleasure to use .

Kids complaining about stomach aches which is worrying as there is v&d going around the school... so may get a phone call to come pick up kids, which will put Xmas on hold as I can't do sneaky stuff while they are out of the way and the school have a '48 hour clear ' policy which would take me up to Monday.

So, getting prepped today and hiding stuff.

Saturday I will get my 'Ho ho Ho' on
