  • NSD - Happy to say that's me hit my target 20/20 :j

ORGANISE - Gave the sitting room a real good clean today ready for putting decorations up at the weekend

ENJOY - Surprise visit by a friend this afternoon and she brought two massive Chelsea buns :)

EXERCISE - Definitely exercised while cleaning - I even moved the furniture and found two knitting needles, a darning needle and a stitch holder ( wondered where they'd gone).

OUTSIDE - Weather he was very wet and windy so glad I didn't have to go outside.

    NO - no takeaways etc.

Glad I've reached my target as will probably be spending tomorrow and Friday xx
Debt free - Mortgage free - Work free ( in that order :) )

Today I am grateful for a colleague squirrelling away my balsam tissues when I accidentally left them at work on Monday so they were there for me today, for my classes being mostly considerate of me, for time outside doing me good, for it not raining much whilst I was outside, for getting stuff done, for a good afternoon, for a chat with dh, for still not needing to wear socks, for a very simple tea.

:eek:HOW??????? I've been in thick, fluffy socks for over a month - and am combining them with fluffy slippers. My feet are still cold when I go to bed!

I've had a weird day but am quietly enjoying myself. Had to wait in for the mattress delivery (+ 2 small items for me) so took books and charity donations before the waiting period started.

DS3 took over after he had had his bath and I went back when the delivery men phoned to say they were near.

We have had words this afternoon (long over due you could say). They dragged the old mattress to the top of the stairs and threw it down - DS3 was apparently intending to put it outside but if the binmen are to collect it, it has to be kept dry. It's currently leaning drunkenly against the kitchen table (very broken so taking up a lot of space).

I said I thought it should go underneath the new bed until collection can be arranged. DS3 then came to give me a lecture on how everything (in the whole wide world) was my fault - thy had only asked for a mattress and I had decided they should have the new larger bed frame which was a whole lot more work. my present state of decrepitude was due to me always doing things the hard way ie doing things in order and not leaving stuff where everyone can climb/ fall over it (and of course doing it all myself instead of 'paying a man' to do it).

I said they had the largest room and also occupied the front (living room), all I had was a tiny bedroom and the kitchen which was unusable atm and no way should their old bed be stored in my little space. I don't think I shouted, just spoke very firmly but the volcano was exploding.

DS3 tried to claim that they cleaned up after themselves and it was me who was hiding forks and bowls. I think Beloved had the sense to recognise a woman on the edge because he went back to their room and tidying (of a sort) has been going on all afternoon.

The only compromise I have made is to say the bed bits can go under my bed (no room under theirs) but not right now and they have to get them out again when collection can be arranged.

I am being quietly uncooperative. When asked to bring screwdrivers I just said 'toolbox' and when Ds3 came back to complain about a missing dowel, I told him where the dowels might be found. When he said they 'weren't right' I said would he like to go to the diy emporium to get what he needed.

I haven't offered to help or advise them and they haven't asked. I think they might be on a mattress on the floor tonight but it's not my problem.

Today I am grateful for free entertainment (listening to them struggle), for have said a few things that have been bugging me for a while and for not allowing the argument to continue too long (we are all still speaking).
My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.

In the summer, dd went as barefoot as possible, and she has continued it where suitable/possible. She will still walk home from sch barefoot! Even in the rain - she just turns up her trousers and goes right through any and every puddle.

I wore my trekking sandals a lot and simply carried on wearing them. Then moved to my vibrams (such a ch shop find!!). I guess we are both toughened up a bit. At the mo, when I do wear socks and shoes, I feel all hot and bothered and can't wait to get them off. I do occasionally wear socks in the house but not often. Not yet!

    Evening all,

Haven't posted for a couple of days but racked up another 2 NSD's. Yesterday the weather was frightful and I had to walk home in the rain - absolutely soaked! Also had to get some studying done so was knackered by bedtime. Today was a bit better, OH gave me a lift to work so I didn't get wet which was lovely and saved my bus fare too.

Work is still quiet, I know they're easing me in but I'm bored of reading policies so just want to get started (famous last words as we're the busiest London borough apparently!). But I took advantage of the quiet to get a bit more studying done, although it's a bit hard to concentrate in a massive open plan office. I have an essay to start this weekend which I'm dreading.

No news on the car yet, they're having to take it apart to find the fault so if nothing else I'm going to have a big labour bill  little bit unsure what to do, part of me thinks it doesn't make sense to pay what the car is worth just to get it back on the road, but the MSE part of me says that fixing it is still cheaper than looking for a new one! I'll have to see what the damage is when they finally find the source of the issue.

Think I get paid tomorrow, I REALLY need to get the rest of my Xmas shopping done ASAP. I've barely bought anything and haven't really been feeling festive this year so far. Normally I'm really organised so this has to take top priority next week.
