I had my hair done today so that cost some money but that will be it until just before we go on holiday at the beginning of January. I finished off the Christmas shopping so that's it definitely all done and wrapped.

Himself had to go to the post office today (a good 40 minute walk) as we had a letter that had to go recorded delivery (we don't have a local post office any more) and came back with two packets of liver that he found on the reduced isle of Aldi. As it was only 25p I've let him off with spending money on food we didn't really need.

Plans for tomorrow include defrosting two freezers, cleaning the fridge and tidying the larder. I think I'd better get up early.
Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.

thrifty - better to know about your son's teeth now when you can still save his adult teeth.

lauren - I used to suffer badly with IBS and the main culprit was white bread, I can eat a couple of slices but if I have more the next day I would be in agony.

Super foggy here for the journey to work and the one home was in torrential rain. Ran last night and was going to tonight but there is no way I am going out again in this weather.

Filled my car up with petrol yesterday and then bought DS a food tech ingredient today but other than that nothing spent.

  • Hello
Busy busy heading into the end of the month. Work feels never ending, with millions of deadlines looming and badly behaved children everywhere at school.
Bagged 2 more nsd's and am eagerly counting down to payday on Friday - not that I'll be any better off, just another load of bills and debts paid. However, I am grateful that I can afford to keep the roof over my head and feed my kids.
Hope everyone feeling under the weather is surviving.
  • NST will aim for 15. 11/15 another one claimed for Sunday, don't think I will get to 15 but will give it ago will be happy with 12.

ORGANISE your time. Will try and find a balance between studying, household chores, family time and me time. Really struggling to balance OU course and everything else. Its getting to the stage of been all consuming and the only breaks I've had are to go shopping, short dog walks and sleeping. Need to rectify this as it also makes me want to snack too which is not good for my already larger than it needs to be waist. Also all the sitting is making my hip and knee ache, so from tomorrow I'm ging to start doing my yoga again.

VALUES. Ultimate goal is to continue to OP the mortgage but to keep in mind ethical, environmental and family values. Sunday's TT didn't happen as numbers were already rounded up, so did it today- £4

ENJOY yourself. Try and do something everyday that I enjoy. Not happened the last couple of days. Was due to go out with a friend tonight but she had to cancel as she is ill. So might light some candles, glass of wine and a long bath instead

MAKE an inventory of the food in your cupboards, fridge and freezer at the start of the month. Meal plan and shop from the cupboards, freezers and allotments first before visiting supermarkets. Still doing this but started to get bits and pieces of food and drink for christmas also. Food bank also supported this week

BUDGETS should be set before the start of the month. Already done will log spends on here and look at, at the end of the month. Will aim to buy something for the food bank every week. Not sure what I've spent these last couple of days as needed some winter clothes for DD2 and bought Christmas lubricant.

EXERCISE will aim to walk for an hour everyday with the dog.Dog walked but didn't litter pick as did it in the dark.

IN case of emergency Add any items you might need (torch, shovel for snow, old carpet for traction, extra coat or blanket) to your car boot. If you don't belong to a breakdown organisation, make sure you have phone numbers for friends or relatives who might come and help you. Make sure you and your children can be seen if walking or cycling. still need to sort the cars. think snow will have to fall before this gets done, but I have booked both cars in to get their winter tyres put on next week

NOW is always the right time to start.will aim to have more faith in myself.

NO takeaways, coffee shops, vending machines, canteens unless for a special event. Take your own food and drinks to work, hospital appointments and days out where possible. None today been a good girl

EVERYONE should know their debt free date continuing to pay bank of mum (Nov 2019) and OP the mortgage (another 17 and half years). TT of £4. Had to email Mortgage adviser yesterday as realised I'd given him the amount of DLA we get for DD2 and not the amount for CTC for mortgage so hoping deal is still available.

WINTER proof your home, if you haven't already done so. Need to hang new thicker curtains in dining room- still on the list.

YOU should cook from scratch when you can (unless time is short or it costs more to make) and batch cook. Will aim to do this at least 5 days out of 7.2/7 cheese, crackers, fruit and red wine for tea tonight
OUTSIDE It may be cold but wrap up warm and make the most of the available light - it will help your immune system and your mental health see exercise

    REPORT i'm here

KINDNESS costs nothing. Everyone you meet is carrying some sort of burden, so try to be kind, especially to yourself.sister still really upset over wedding dress mishaps, lots of supportive text messages flying between the 2 of us (she was at work so couldn't ring)

    NSD today - 19/20.
The painter/decorator did not stay too long as he said he was having issues with his back - pain. Was grateful for what he done today. Gave him my Mum's walking stick in case he needed it. Did ask and he said yes that would be helpful.
That gave me time to go to Mum's grave to put down the Christmas artificial flower arrangement.
Went round a friend's flat near where I live. Had a nice chat and laugh. She is the mother of someone who I went to school with.
Only walked to/from bus stop/Mum's grave.
Still trying to do surveys when I can. Did convert what I had in one survey account onto my loyalty card for MrS. So I now have £40.89 to spend in store. Another survey account I have £54.25. Will be cashing in some of it for my favourite shop for food at Christmas.

Not NSD - Sainz shop, although did use £9 off voucher.

Cooked from scratch - banana oaty pancakes, falafels and couscous and salad and chilli and rice - hm for all 3 meals :) No takeaways etc

Prep for Winter - very glad second radiator is being re-fitted in kitchen tomorrow - one is just not cutting it in this weather - esp as it's the smaller of the 2

Exercise - Very quick walking on the school runs with the appalling weather! :D Fitbit shows 160 active mins, 20 floors and just under 3000 calories burned - lots of housework done to try and keep warm!

Kindness - gave my mum a bottle of red wine as we have lots. Apparently it's an award winning £16/ bottle one - so hopefully it will taste nice! :)

Payday tomorrow, so will look at Dec budgets then....

Greent - I have discovered that if I wear my fitbit on my wrist (in the night time holder thingy) whilst knitting, then I can rack up 1000s of extra steps!

Today I am grateful for a day off work, for balm tissues, for a snuggly duvet, for poirot, for dd going to school as her medical ministrations involve doing things for you every 5 mins whether you are awake or dozing!, for dh earning some extra money, for hm soup waiting for me in the fridge, for clean fresh water.

Wrote a post early on which was No Inspiration Just Determination but the internet went down as I tried to post (add hunt for phone number for DS3 to list).

Feeling dreadful this morning - lurching dizziness, multiple body parts not doing their jobs. Getting out of the bath was quite a challenge - the only thing keeping me inching forward was that it would be more painful to give in and fall back and I'd still have to do it all again.

Diet and exercise are the only things within my control so going to go hardcore on cutting out anything 'bad' and get moving even if today it's only lurching from one piece of street furniture to the next.

Posted letters for mum, took 2 things to the charity bin, put out the paper recycling and took the bin to the collection point. Got splashed by cars 6 times waiting at the crossing and was standing 5' back from the pavement edge.

Money out of the bank for mum, bought 2 requested birthday cards and food for me - I was going to treat myself to a baked potato but the baked potato van now only does sickly burgers and chips and several other hot food places were closed (one very optimistic cafe still had little tables and chairs outside).

One of the market stalls had pot herbs (chopped up cabbage, carrot, leek, onion and celery, some swede), similar with cauli in and a courgette/ pepper medley so bought 4 (pot herbs are normally used to make 'broth' but I will be eting them raw with a tiny drizzle of low fat salad dressing). They also had bags of chopped onions so I might add them to my regular shopping spots - would save me a lot of time and effort (pressure on my arthritic shoulder) and would be a useful veg base for many meals.

I was hoping to buy the remaining 2 throws mum needs but cut short the list due to rain, soaking, and knee repeatedly going . Taxi to mum's. Couple of things tackled and have an idea how to fix a 'problem' - two of us tried to sort it a couple of weeks ago and we said we would go away and think of something else. Too wet to try today.

Hoping for an early night because I'm feeling wiped out (a certain amout of involuntary whining and yelping has gone on today)

Today I am grateful for keeping going, that all my limbs work most of the time and for convenient post boxes, charity bins and other facilities.
My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.
