NSD number 15 here, have finally hit my target for the month :j although I haven't done very well in terms of what's left in my account! Nothing much to report today, managed to get some studying and chores done this evening, about to settle down for the night. Just waiting to see my payslip so I can work out my exact budget for December.

    Hi all:j

Mess cleared up just in time for gas man to come here after he'd been to DDs house...fire needs a part which is only £33, her fire however needs another part, although it's working now - and that will be £88

    NSDs Now 12/15

ORGANISE your time. Now trying to make lists, this week is a bit of a no-no with various bits of days being taken up by events or visits. Must try to fit some stuff around, so that the day is not a total blank.

VALUES Differentiate between needs and wants. No purchases today

ENJOY yourself. Was enjoying making a gift for my uncle, but the cat must have got hold of my needles - and chewed them, the beast. He has also taken to balancing on the very high top banister...2 flights of stairs. Today he knocked off a door curtain that was draped over there, which fell down into the hallway & knocked everything off the console....he's a kitten still, but a huge clumsy one..

MAKE an inventory of the food in your cupboards, fridge and freezer at the start of the month. Frog. Lunch was a YS salad shared with DD & made a chilli for supper, plenty left.

    BUDGETS
should be set before the start of the month. Frog alert!

EXERCISE 4 times a week, 20 minutes a day. Outside with furry beasts. Only a bit of exercise today, although on the go from early morning.

RULES Turtle rules can be difficult at first. Following the plan as best I can.

IN case of emergency Add any items you might need Made a small list but not been shopping yet since we got back from Ireland. Shopping today but no emergency stuff. To do with shopping Tuesday.

NOW is always the right time to start. Not too bad today.

    NO takeaways, None today

EVERYONE Am DF but always could do with more savings towards experiences or holidays. Have some funds I need to pay back to business account, also for items bought in last spending spree... so need to account for those items by December 31. Pending. Frog.

EXTRA Have a ton of stuff that needs to be sold. Back from hols but not dealing with as yet, after weekend out will do. Frog Alert.

WINTER Not been fine for ages so can't finish panting. Will probs be fine whilst I'm out sometime this week.

YOU should cook from scratch Done.

    OUTSIDE Briefly

    REPORT
    regularly I'm here..

KINDNESS DH bought & put together some Christmas everlasting candles, he felt sorry for me because a craft light we bought yesterday doesn't even fit together..grr

Not much to report over the last few days. Don't know if it was the cake decorating (lots of fine motor control) but my arm was really painful on Saturday and knees and ankles were not in good working order. Slept a lot (could only find the heavy painkillers).

Did my best yesterday but did not get very far. Did buy the mattress for their new-to-them bed (which is currently in lots of pieces in the front room). Mattress to be delivered on Wednesday between noon and 6pm.
So that's their main present sorted.

Went out shopping late on yesterday (had already bought the mattress so thought I would make the most of a spendy day) but Icyland weren't delivering so only bought sandwich fillings for me aand bread and milk for mum.

Poor night's sleep but have been to mum's. Have ordered some things she needed, have a list and birthday cards to post. One appointment has been brought forward a week and our March holiday has been put back a week so made changes in my diary.

We have been invited out for lunch on Boxing Day but mum's hoping we can stay at home (her home).

I have started a list with mum of things she will need - going to try to do several staggered home deliveries to both houses to cover the next few weeks. Mum will need toilet rolls and wants 4 asorted big 'tins' of choc to hand out so with normal weekly shopping I can easily reach any minimum spend requirements.

I wrote a rough to do list on an envelope on Saturday (when I was still hoping to get something useful done). My back up emergency plan is to ask DS3 to take my office chair downstairs and I can trundle round the kitchen on wheels (might even raise and lower the seat to give me easier access to whatever I'm cleaning).

Today I am grateful for the sandwich fillings I bought (have a pile of wraps which were ys'd to 10p), for a young man who called me sweetheart and angel and for the town Christmas lights - not spectacular but adding a welcome bit of colour and sparkle.
My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.

    NSDs on 13 now.

ORGANISE Still very busy but now getting used to my schedule and starting to find time again for spanish study... yay. I am moving house next month, need to find a spanish housemate which should help immensely. Although I'm a little worried about living with randoms again after 7+ years of living with friends.

I'm going to be staying with BF until I fly home for Christmas. He's a bit of a clean-freak (one of the reasons I like him) so this has inspired me to get rid of some junk before moving there. Cleared a huge pile of paperwork on Saturday and took some old shoes to the charity shop... although I did buy a coat while I was in the charity shop... €11 bargain for a padded (I think down) long coat.

VALUES Spoke spanish at lunchtime yesterday.

ENJOY I really am enjoying the 'small' things at the moment, being able to snuggle on the sofa after work etc.

BUDGETS I'm doing well, but actually need to spend some money for christmas soon. Probably this weekend.

EXERCISE None so far this week

    RULES - doing ok.

NO takeaways etc - we had an indian on Sunday. The BF brought food back for us 2 and announced he'd spent €27!!! But he said I can give him €10.

EVERYONE - I realised this week that by the end of November I will have worked all the hours needed to pay off my debt. so super chuffed with that, and will have extra income coming from my writing work and extra teaching hours on fridays.

YOU should cook from scratch. batch cooked at the weekend - lentil soup with shedloads of spinach to get some goodness into me quickly.

REPORT Trying to do better with that!

KINDNESS Need to speak to a student who is struggling. Will try today.

    Thanks Mothernerd for the inspiration

  • Another NSD yesterday - too little to late to hit 15 but pleased my total is going up. Budgets going well, although I’ve more or less ignored the C word so far. I was hrateful for the kindness of others yesterday rather than being kind. Organise: need to meal plan and look at planning the next few weeks tonight.

    NSD 12 sorted!!

Payday on Friday, £20 budget til then.

Foggy here in't Shire this morning.

Bit of coving painting going on here this morning - will finally swallow the back legs of this seemingly endless frog=ephant

Bored of answering questions about when trees and advent calendars are going up. How many times do I have to say Friday before they believe me and just accept that it is happening on FRIDAY!!!

Should be another NSD today as I will be up my ladder waving my arms about the place. (exercise??? dunno, it blimmin' aches after an hour though)

Cleared the fireplace mantel in readiness for greenery
Moved a sofa and put a coffee table down the side for the tree to go on. Nobody has noticed. ha ha ha, ho ho ho. he he he.

Lots of emails to tell me the books I ordered (with survey vouchers) have been dispatched. Will await the postman with great excitement. Wrapping will commence as and when they arrive..

Going to clear out the Christmas cupboard while the kids are not here so they do not rob all the good stuff and put it in their rooms!

    Good morning Turtles,

Today is NSD #14 as we ran out of cat food yesterday, doh.

My child benefit went in so I paid a couple of things early & did my budget for December.

Got up early again, had a brew, did some ironing & made the beds. all I need to do tonight is tidy down stairs.

LO has been chatting to me about telescopes so tonight I'm going to paint some toilet roll tubes with them. I think kitchen roll would be better but I haven't got any. Maybe tomorrow we can go star spotting once they've dried. Also going to print some Christmas cards out at work for them to colour.

yoga tonight to get me moving (slowly) as hub is out so its probably the best I can do.

I hope everyone has a nice day :o

No SFD yesterday as we made use of the cyber Monday deals for things we had on our christmas list for the kids etc. Spent but got good deals and stuck to the list.

Not a SFD again today as I needed toilet paper and I thought for once I might buy some presents in town rather than in Tesco or online. I don't do shopping, can't remember the last time I set foot into town never mind on my own.

But I went in my lunch break and it was actually rather nice and successful. Got quite a few stocking fillers sorted (marbles, mini 3d puzzles, nail varnish). The kids always get new cosy jammies for St Nikolaus (6th Dec) and they had super cosy and cute unicorn onesies in Debenhams. But I resisted spending £30 on them and found the kids super fluffy jammies in Primarni.

Although I'm getting confused now with what is budget spending and what comes out of Christmas savings etc. as it is just one card but two accounts. I'll tally it up at the end of the month, so far number still look ok. Although my signature is not accurate anymore.

Might repeat that one day next week and get my list finished.

Hopefully tomorrow I finally manage to get up early again. Despite being in bed early I managed to sleep through my alarms the last two days.
