mothernerd - well done for saying your piece but keeping calm.

apple - you must be tougher than me, I wear socks and slippers in the house, thick slipper socks in the evenings and have been doing so for quite a while now.

Called at the card shop yesterday for a calendar, diary and two birthday cards, I don't like sending cards but felt a bit mean not getting one for my children. It's DD's birthday on Monday and we were supposed to be having a day out Saturday and tea out in the evening but we had a massive fall out with her last night over her being given chilli and rice for tea - she was vile and I don't want to even look at her at the moment.

Grocery delivery today and I also called in at Lidl yesterday for biscuits.

  • You hv touched a nerve with today's quotes mothernerd. It is time to move on and realise it's the future that counts. I'm drawing a line in the sand and today it changes for better or worse lol. Time is precious but l seem to have forgot that and l needed a reminder. Material things became important and l need to stop. Thank you for reminding me of the important things in life this morning, we all need that sometimes xx

    Right. onwards!

Today I need to start to sort the tokens to go in the advent calendars on Saturday.

All kids back in school, all food from stores , all lunchboxes sorted so I should not have to spend another penny until December unless I want to.

Tomorrow is payday. All hail the mighty paycheque!

Does everyone know which day in December is their payday/ benefit day ? Our's (well, DH's) is on the 18th, which in a way is lovely, but makes it 6 weeks until January payday. So be aware! It is why everyone feels January is such a looooooong month.

So today will be NSD 14 still have petrol in the car, food in the fridge, chilli and baked potato here tonight with hummus for those who do not like chilli, not sure what to do with the one who does not like baked potatoes. It is either the 14 or the 16 year old, Well, it was the last time I made baked potatoes. It might have all changed since then.......

Honestly, you would have thought I had suggested he lick a frog. It is a potato!!

mothernerd - well done for saying your piece but keeping calm.

Absolutely! And let's hope they take it on board and start looking after their own space and maybe helping you out a bit.

Hope all those who not feeling too well are a bit better today.

Well, the house is all tidied up and clothes ready to go into the case so tomorrow I'm having a chill out day before we leave early Saturday morning.

The Boy is coming for dinner tonight but it's all under control from the freezer - can't believe how tidy those are looking. Think we'll have pizza tomorrow just to make things easy.
Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.

Not NSd, as stated earlier - paid heating chap and also went to A5da. Collected my order but they have sent totally the wrong item :( - phoned to advise and have a £5 voucher as a result - I pointed out that it meant I had to do another 2 journeys - 1 to return the item and another to collect the correct item sometime next week :) Bought Xmas Eve PJs for DD and DS1 and a random pr of PJs for DS2 (he has had 3 pairs go in ragbag within past month) Picked up some good YS items (inc some items which were on my list anyway) and a couple of fun Xmas tumblers for the smalls (not necessary in the slightest, but they made me smile! )

Sorted out the present stash and wrapped a few. Gave some to my mum and she will give me the money back. Have a better idea of what's still to buy now :)

Kitchen (and the whole of downstairs) much warmer now with the other radiator and the system being bled off - clearly everything is working more efficiently!

Cook from scratch - toast with hm bread, lunch was coleslaw and turkey rolls and I've also made cottage pie base (ie just the meaty bit) - although I think dinner is going to be some bargainacious YS kievs with wedges and salad. Have also baked a new loaf - yum yum :D

Another NSD today which puts me on 9/10 :) Close but no cigar ;) That will be it for me for NSD as I have a carpet cleaner chap coming tomorrow to sort out a spot the dog has peed on a couple of times and a couple of other rooms that get heavy wear.

DH is at the gym tonight and I am back home so may try and get a couple of bits done but after DS an I have shifted furniture around for the last hour I'm shattered!

Today I am grateful for my waterproof and brolly, for a nice day at work, for Fisherman's Friend lozenges, for a lovely chat with some colleagues, for getting new nose pads on my specs (1 had simply come off), for finishing 2 elephants, for dd enjoying taekwondo, for dd loving the Home Front bus visit, for a simple yummy tea.
