Huge wedding problem :(

If things were so bad between the bride and the OPs wife she wouldn't have been invited at all.
And if the issue was not wanting the kids there surely the Op and his wife could have asked this six months ago.
And got an answer0 -
It's plain and simple in my mind. Who matters most to you - your wife or your friend?0

Said exactly this earlier and got called quite a lot of names for it. Controlling, made someone ashamed to be female. Bitter. No wonder men stay single due to people like me.0 -

Hope your wife has a nice evening infront of Xfactor and see it for what it is at the end of the day.
Time to all move on:)
Oh, you and your logic.:)
Why should this thread end when there's a chance to repeat the same thing ad nauseam?Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi0 -
This thread illustrates how childish and spiteful women can be, when you think they should have grown out of playground 'leaving out' behaviour.
The bride sounds like a right madam.
OP, just go for your mate, but possibly miss the evening do as it sounds half-hearted.Member #14 of SKI-ers club
Words, words, they're all we have to go by!.
(Pity they are mangled by this autocorrect!)0 -
I didn't mean for the thread contributors to move on. I meant for the OP, wife and friends0

Oh my god has she not been punished enough that she has to sit through X Factor!0 -

It's not actually a choice of that magnitude - not like choosing between having a relationship between two different people. It's much more -
Which matters most to you, one of the most important days in your friend's life or your partner being a bit miffed for a couple of hours? Puts it in proportion, I feel.0 -
Sounds very childish. If this happened to me I'd stick with my partner. Don't allow the bride and groom to treat your partner like second best. If you go it seems you are choosing them over her and publicly stating it's ok that she wasn't invited. Won't people at the wedding ask where she is? How will you answer?
If I were in your partners situation I'd feel awful at the reception. Like the bride is laughing at me. To be honest I doubt I'd go.
So if I were in your shoes I'd not go. I'd meet up with the groom for a few drinks a couple of weeks after and stay in touch with him but that's all.0 -
