Should I ask OH to leave?

these threads nearly always denigrate men which on this occasion might be correct but is not always the case.the ops marriage sounds as if it died years ago and they should not stay together for the children, also he does sound a nasty piece of work but he is not on here to defend himself.i am not saying the op is telling lies but usually in these cases there are 3 sides to the story hers, his and the truth
They are like a bunch of old hags doing some knitting and gossiping whilst waiting for a hanging.0 -
Tightrs, thank you for your reply. I do completely agree with you there are always three sides to a story and we can only every see things from our own point of view.
Out of fairness to OH I'll let you know how OH defended his actions when I found out more yesterday. OH said DS also called him nasty names and provoked him. My take on it is as people have said here nothing gives you the right to threaten a child. There are other ways to deal with this situation and he is for the first time ever accepting he might not be entirely right in what he did, so there is hope yet.
The posts by Kurt are a bit upsetting to me and probably others, could anyone tell me if there's a way of getting this thread deleted?
Thanks,
Em

OP, I really feel for you, but you MUST get rid of him. The picture you paint is not a good one. There is massive support, and if this comes out, and there is even a whiff that you stayed with him, knowing, (or even having a light suspision) that it could put either of your children in danger, then the consequences could well be more far reaching.0

There will always be people on every forum who like to stir things up, disagree with the common opinion, rattle a few cages etc. some people are just after a good argument.
(We have them over on our aquatic hobby website- I mean, it's about caring for your aquarium, for goodness sake!)
Then there are the people who seem to go out of their way to deliberately upset people who are already in an emotionally fragile situation.
I someimtes think that some of the replies are too close to the truth for the irate poster's comfort, and that's why they stir things up-
who knows- perhaps they are looking for someone to agree that it was acceptable behaviour to physically threaten a 13 yo just for a bit of cheek, because they think it's acceptable themselves.
As with every other reply on here that you don't agree with, feel free to ignore it- freedom of speech is a wonderful thing, some folk just don't know when to shut up though!!
I hope your hubby sees the seriousness of this situaiton, and genuinely tries to turn over a new leaf. Do start trying to make back-up copies of banking info, passports etc, and keep a little emergency money with a friend, or in a safe place where hubby can't know about it, this empowers you more, knowing you have choices.Best Wishes!Member of the first Mortgage Free in 3 challenge, no.19

Hai Lily,
Just to let ya know, you dont have to tell her that, there are a number of automatic things that happen when you get a PM so that you see it.
Hope this helps you silly pants.
Oh, and to the OP, get the child out of bleeding nappies.0 -

Thanks for that useful piece of advice.
The "number of automatic things" only happen when you are logged in. A few users pop in and out without logging in and don't spot that they have a PM. I wanted Nonny to get the message quickly as it is fairly urgent. I didn't want her to miss it if she's browsing without logging in, hence the message on the thread.
Oh, and please remember that zero is a number. People who say "a number of things" without making any attempt to quantify what that number is look really moronic and under educated.
Hope this helps you silly pants.
