Probably, but it makes more sense. Why pay £35 a month for 200 minutes and 200 texts, just so you can have an expensive Ipod with a phone, when thier are tariffs for less money with loads more minutes and texts, just to have an overhyped gadget. Who cares if they make more money, so that you can save money?

So far logged on to Citibank (which has a virtual keyboard for password), British Airways for online check-in, and here which I got to through "subscribed threads" drop-down menu. This will do very well.
On Wi-Fi, the speed is indeed excellent and YouTube is great fun.
Yesterday I logged on onto Sky's new IPhone designed website on my IPhone and it took 10-20 seconds per page to load using edge.
Have you used the phone side yet? I would like to see how other people find it on a ten minute call.
One thing I would advise IPhone users to get is a silicone case. The phone can get slippery and no one knows what thier out of warranty repair service is like for dropped Iphones.
Also if you want to use different headphones or a standard FM transmitter you will need a TTY Adapter as the headphone socket on the IPhone is recessed.
Belkin do one, but only Amazon had 1 available as of yesterday.
I have got 21 on back order (thats all my supplier can get) as I need one and the rest wil go on Ebay....
Enjoy your 02 IPhone - You have it for 18 monhs..0 -
Hi I am seriously thinking of getting an iphone but of course it means going with o2 could anyone tell me what the coverage is like with o2 also what is their customer service like. thanks
I'm an O2 PAYG customer, my husband is a contract customer. We both rate them for price & coverage.0 -

You are missing the point. The O2 tariff on iphone offers unlimited data and free wi-fi (from cloud company) so price wise if you take that into consideration, it is about right. This is exclusive to O2 Apple iphone users only.0 -
With webnwalk @ £7.50 a month and an Hsdpa phone or Pda you can have broadband speeds and not have to sit on cloud 9 or be at home or suffer the 30% edge (slower than 3g) coverage area.
I use an N95 and a Vario 3 and can plug them both into my laptop and be up and running with broadband speeds in less than 30 seconds.
For a fiver a month i can watch any Sky sports package or Sky news as much as i want.
I can also edit or create Word or Excel spreadsheets and email them to anyone.
Oh i almost forgot. I didnt pay for either phone and am getting £180 allowance for calls texts or picture messaging and 1gb of data for £31.87 a month with my 25% discount.
I can also send a picture message from or to foreign countries with up to 1000 characters of text for only 20p a time.
With the Iphone i cant even send or receive a picture message.
I can also have Sat Nav on both devices using thier built in GPS and readily available navigation software for less than £80.00
The Iphones music features are excellent.
The asthetics of the device is excellent.
But in my view and as someone that deals day in day out with mobile phones and PDA's, that is where it ends.
I started typing this post on an Iphone but with the qwerty keyboard filling most of the screen you can only see 1 line of what you are typing. The Safari Browser is excellent but only as a browser. Not for inputting on a day to day basis.
This forum is called Moneysavingexpert, and I would love anyone to justify how an IPhone is a money saving device.
Especially when in a years time your battery will start deteriorating and Apple will want £55 for a battery replacement. A loan Iphone costs £20 a time for 10 days hire. http://www.apple.com/uk/support/iphone/service/battery/
Out of the 1 years warranty repairs are £159 for whatever reason. You would have thought they would cover you for the 18 month contract term. http://www.apple.com/uk/support/iphone/service/faq/
If you install third party software which apple class as a modification your IPhone will not be covered under the warranty.
Then there is the issue of updates. Many people have found that doing a software update on itunes has lost them all thier data.
The Iphone is an Expensive gadget. IMHO.
A comment i found on another forum, which i found quite funny:
design and marketing is what this product is all about...its what apple do best.
they sell cool to the uncool people.
they sell sexy to the ugly.
the good looking, sexy, freethinkers like myself can only look on and smirk
Also has anyone seen the IPhone Official Tool:

Did anyone who purchased an IPhone at 6.02pm on Friday queue for hours.
Did you then phone a bored sounding 02 representative, as they had an extra 1400 staff for the launch.
These are details and pictures of the mayhem that occured on Friday night: Lol.

Are you saying there was ever a time that PS3's were in short supply?

In fact.... i LOVE my iPhone. The GUI, touch-screen, interface, phone stability, music, video playback, web browser and google maps on the iPhone is truly like nothing i have ever seen before.... use it all the time to order Pizza.
Only the phone's camera lets it down (its not bad, just not as "good" as the 5MP on N95)... then again I dont like Nokia, and i didnt buy the iPhone for its camera....
I've never had any probs with O2, but i use Car Phone. The O2 iPhone contracts are totally over-priced in the UK. And the iPhone itself is £55 more expensive in the UK then in the USA and that includes all taxes - I only paid $400 + $36 in sales tax for mine!
Is this how you remove a sim card: http://crave.cnet.com/8301-1_105-9738138-1.html
what if you put an ordinary sim card in there - how do you then remove that?0 -
Hi Alex, Like your response.
Maybe it is due to the fact that my Iphone is a US unlocked version with all the bells and wistles, but as a phone I just cannot use it. Have you made calls on yours yet and not put people on hold, or muted the mic accidently.
Maybe it is designed to use mainly with the headset, but i just dont get it as a phone, when an 8GB ITouch is £199 with no ongoing charges.
What if you lose your Iphone and cannot afford a new one. Can you get another sim fom 02, buy a sim free standard phone and change onto a preferential tariff?
I think the poor response, to the launch, which most people in the industry predicted, will lead to a change in the set up in the next few months. A bit like THREE when they launched in 2003 and expected people to pay for a phone and a tariff just to get their killer apllication (Video calls).
Didnt take them long to realise that that was not where the money was....0 -
There have been better phones out for years.
The Iphone is a marketing hype.
The Orange spv m600 and m700 have served me very well the last 3 years with all the functionalityof the iphone plus Tom Tom satnav built in with the integrated GPS. WiFi etec etc all present and correct for years.
The Windows mobile 5 have loads of free applications to load up onto the phone.
Also the spv m700 is 3g a smaller more compact phone as well...and more apple looking in white than an Apple i phone looks already.
....people ask....."OH IS THAT THE NEW iPHONE!".....argh...no it isn't.....lol0
