Well my 5th N95 is on it's way back to 02 for good. Getting a different handset out of them as this keeps failing...0

Existing Customers - "You'll need to start a new 18 month minimum term contract and pay for your iPhone handset but you can keep your existing number. So everyone will know it's you when you call them to brag."
I found this here http://www.o2.co.uk/iPhone-Availability.html under the tab "Existing Customers"
Thanks, I did find this as well. What Chilpill said was that:everyone has to buy it at retail price.
this is the bit I would like a link to.
I would guess that those on a low tariff would get a small discount, and those on a high tariff to get a bigger discount(still small).
This is what happens now, and would expect it to be the same with the i-phone?Well life is harsh, hug me don't reject me.0 -
Off the top of my head, I don't think it's stated anywhere other than in the link above, however it is common knowledge that Apple forbid any form of subsidy on the iPhone - hence the reason everyone has to pay £269.0

interesting article <shock> in the sun today http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/news/article418610.ece
apparently it is illegal to lock a mobile to one network in france so you can buy the iphone simfree over there.0 -
Everyone has to pay the £269. Except staff of course

You can buy the iPhone unlocked to any network from those that have purchased them in the US.They sell for around £300.Just dont update the phone with itunes software and it will be a PAYG iphone.0

The best advice anyone should give regarding the iphone is to steer well clear it is a big marketing con and a legal one at that. the gadget is practically useless without 3g for surfing (if like me, you have 3g mobile internet will know how bad the signal can be at times even on the most powerful of laptops which is why HSDPA+HSUPA (HSPA) is now popular if you can afford it instead and the battery life is dire. Later on they may well update the features and make it worthwhile but at present this is not even remotely offering anything of use. I might get one free with a new laptop in which case as I cant stand the thing I will just sell it to someone less clued on to technology and save money on the laptop cost instead.
I suggest anyone interested in the iphone try the w960i from sony ericsson instead it has 3g, smaller touch screen which even recognises your handwriting using the stylus, 8gb of memory and infrared and bluetooth and sound experience thrilling to say the least.
I already have the older 4gb version w950i which is already superior to the iphone and best of all has reliable operating system loaded on the phone. Also has an push mail so I can if I really need to access my yahoo email inbox with 100's of messages on it. The music videos are really clear to watch with great sound.0 -

customer service, in my experience, is very poor. people are already importing and unlocking the i phone.
It is better to be thought of as an idiot than to open your mouth and remove all doubt0
