dolly - our blackberrying trip yielded about 2 dozen ripe ones down here. it might be that it's been much too dry (no rain since the endof May) for them to ripen - there's plenty of fruit on the bushes, but it's nearly all green!

Spendy day today. Got my hair done but it was worth it I feel so much better.
Apart from that a quiet day. Got some more stuff ready for the charity shop and all the dinners and lunches coming from the freezer so at least that's going down another little bit.
Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.

Hi, I had to spend a total of £1.90 today on milk, tv paper and 3 bananas from Lidl. The bananas were not essential but I just really took a notion for them. I didn't buy bread as I have 6 slices in the freezer. I also found 3 pitta breads and 6 ready to bake croissants that I'd bought for Xmas and forgot about. That should do me till next Tuesday, if not I can bake a loaf. I love home baked bread on the first 2 days but then it changes and I'm not keen on it. I suppose I could freeze it if I could find room in the freezer :rotfl:

JUMP - I spent 2 hours in the front garden before I was chased inside by wasps. I have two hostas plants near the front door and they seemed to be attracted by that. I've had those plants for years and never seen so many wasps before. Must be the hot weather.

INSPIRE - I had chilli con carni from the freezer for dinner. After heating in the microwave I grated a little dark chocolate into it and it really enhances the flavour. Delicious :).

YEARLY - Its grandson's birthday on Friday. I bought his presents last month ( all minecraft stuff) and hoping to see him on Saturday. The things I bought him were not mega expensive but I just know he'll love them and I can't wait to see his face when he opens them. I put £5 into a personalised Minecraft wallet for him. I did think of just putting a £2 coin but I'm sure he'll appreciate paper money more :rotfl:.

Hoping to reach my 20 NSDs tomorrow xx

  • An NSD today so I'm up to 10!

Good / scary news, DH has finally agreed to sort out a joint budget. Good if we can both stick to it, but I'm a bit nervous about taking on more of the bills if he doesn't agree to track his spending. Deep breaths...

Another spendy day for me today but it was all planned spends and budgeted for. Been to the big Swedish furniture shop to get new drawers for dd and a new bed frame for ds. I wanted new plates but they didn't have the ones I wanted at a price I was willing to pay. I steered clear of all of the temptations and left with just the items on my list.
Also a very quick top up shop at Mr S while I was on with the spending - needed bread desperately. We don't eat a lot of bread but ds has a friend staying over tonight and I want to be able to offer them toast in the morning. :D
Nothing crossed off the annoying jobs list but I have at least been busy for most of the day. Little housework jobs all done and up to date.

Today I am grateful for an early-morning baking session, for my counsellor, for meeting up with dh and dd afterwards, for doing my kb workout almost totally with the 12K kb, for enjoying the yoga I have started to do in the mornings, for fresh rasps, for the space made by putting a few things away (who'da thunk it, eh?), for dd having fun playing out, for swallowing a frog email, for clean bed linen.

Sorry to have been absent for a few days, I'm in a strange mood.

My physiotherapy assessment was very positive. The shoulder is nowhere near as bad as my hip was (I hadn't seen the x-ray before) and the physiotherapist said I was doing an excellent job of keeping a good range of movement. So carry on doing as much as I can (using the left hand wher possible and sticking with putting pots in the cupboard one at a time - anything above my head is difficult, that's why I've opted for keeping my hair cut short) but stop when things hurt and don't be afraid to take painkillers as needed. Surgery could leave me with less movement than I have now. I have some exercises aimed as improving the strength of my arm/ shoulder joint.

I think I have gone over budget and have had lots of spend a little days. My main worries are DS1's wedding (6 weeks and 2 days to go):-
,have not lost weight - put it on and can't stop eating a certain chocolate bar atm
-not written my list of ailments for translation (main worry is my hip replacement setting off the airport scanner)
    - no idea what I am going to wear, think my trainers are nearing the end of their life which leaves me with a footwear choice of walking boots or wellies
    - lots of 'girlie stuff' I normally ignore but it's making itself very visible

Still wrestling with the kitchen and my bedroom. Counselling has helped me get to a zen like state of indifference - I've done what I can, forget the rest but worried how little that is and dreading 'being ill' as I barely have it under control and it wouldn't take a spanner in the works to bring it grinding to a halt, more like a feather or a straw.

With my positive head on I have managed to do the most urgent tasks each day this week and I am quite pleased about today (even though I spent money). I wrote a list of 3 small tasks from the bigger list.

The first was to take 2 books to the library which are due back tomorrow (out all day with mum). This turned out not to be a 'small job' as one was awol (thought I had returned it) so turned the room upside down to find it (determined to sort everything back onto shelves before bedtime).

I needed to buy painkillers as I only had 4 left. Had a wander round the store (last 3 times in there I have marched through and only bought what was on my list). I bought 2 more medicinal items (did a stock check yesterday as I need to order a repeat prescription) and 2 pan lid organisers which I am hoping to use to sort my baking trays and make them a bit more accessible (they will be pointing slightly upwards when I open the cupboard door - still thinking about adaptations I will need and possibly bringing forward the replacement kitchen but any minor modifications I can do will help).

Third on the list was a small Icyland shop, mainly items for next month but the freezer is at the lots of some things/ none of others stage and DS3 and beloved are quite capable of eating all the expensive stuff without all the 'sides'. Stuff will be delivered tomorrow so they can put it away.

On the way back I called at HB (another 'wander'). Useful as I remembered some of the kitchen light bulbs have gone so bought those and 2 notebooks - a slight extravagance but saved myself buying something unhealthy - an alternative healthy treat.

Today I am grateful for getting mine and DS2's washing done at mum's yesterday and nearly all completely line dried, for seeing DS2 as I was coming home (he had just picked up his washing), for hearing from DS1 and his fiance via fb and messenger, for the beautiful begonias outside the Town Hall and for shopping trolleys (more for me to lean on than to put things in) and shops which deliver (might do HB online in future).
My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.
