NSD No 13
Lunch and dinner from freezer plus I have put some stuff in the food recycling. I honestly don't know why Himself keeps it. There is not a hope of it ever being used. I'm getting better at portion control though so there's not so much going in now.
Didn't manage the dreaded cupboard under the sink but did a few more drawers (stealth decluttering so Himself wouldn't find out). Looked out some more things to go to the charity shop tomorrow.
Enjoy the evening CCL. You deserve it.Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.0 -
NSD 15/20 Was an NSD today. Did get a few food treats from M&S, but had a voucher so spent no money. Did have a special treat on my loyalty card, managed to get 2 floral hand washes for free. That was £7 worth.
Set - Done the budget for the month.
Use - Will definitely be doing this. Still trying to using up things already in.
Revisit - Am going to set new goals. Made a list of goals and bucket list.
Vacation - Not going on holiday. Planning to have some days out/experiences. Done 2 days out already.
Inspire - Will try.
Value - Will look into other ways to save for days out etc.
Every - Have done. Grateful for:
Enjoying drinking the bottle of wine given to me by the head, also eating the free food treats from M&S.
The lovely gifts from work.
Now having time to start working on my goals and to relax.
Doing self-care today.
Jump - Will definitely do walking as it will help my mental health also. Walked from work to bus stop and around the school doing errands.
Unless - No need today.
Lose - Done decluttering for now. Still need to sort out items put aside to be recycled to cs and recycling centre. Put some more bits into the bag for the cs.
Yearly - Have made a list as to what needs to done or going out trips/experiences/voluntary work for rest of the year.Frugal Living Challenge 2025 Mortgage free as of 1st August 20130 -
Kerry Woman -have you now finished working there? Have you anything else lined up or are you taking a well-earned break?
Today I am grateful for a long walk, for my kettlebell workout, for the Tour, for lavender, for dd finishing for the year, for dh being out all day (I love having the house all to myself!), for making both gingerand cinnamon biscuits from ingredients we already had in, for an email from big sis, for a cooler day.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
Hi all :j
Will try for 13 NSDs & hope to get nearer to 20....still 10/13 as expected went shopping today with DD who is back from hols.
Set your budgets nope
Use Most definitely want to do this; have a mountain of food & stuff to clear. Lots of things sold on FB & are gradually leaving the house, money is accumulating which is also good. Another item sold today, plus DD sold some more of hers.
Revisit Targets were like other peoples I think, to lose weight (not really); to declutter - some progress; to stop wasting money - also some progress there..will list any weight losses/stuff leaving the house/money gained by selling...when it happens.. Still £44.26 so far..plus £5 voucher for doing a survey; £49.26 Another £3 voucher today: still £52.26. Have more to add, just need to total up. Still £134.12, less postage. Have more than £300 now although didn't list much today. Have to concentrate on clearing a bit as only a week till hols....Over £400 now, lots more to go but will have to start holiday prep before sales...boo..intend to list some more over the weekend before I will have to stop..
Vacation Have already booked to go to Ireland for 3 weeks from July; aim to sell some stuff to pay for spends over there. Will also be planning some days out & at least another visit to the Old Country later in the year, probably 2. More progress in clearing especially in our bedroom & the living room.
Value Always do try to use cashback sites where possible, and find value for money in shopping. Also have a card which gives me vouchers; and do some work which pays in vouchers too. Use cheaper supermarkets & have HB & Fultons here as well, which are both good for some stuff. To 2 Tescos in search of some ice cream for DD; one or two bargains to be had & also a visit to Fultons which always gives us some decent buys.
Every Checking in 18/31
Gratitudes: Cooler today & we actually had some rain; A doughnut - can't remember the last one I had & cost all of 5p; DH offering to get up at 5.15 am so I don't have to..
Jump No jumping here either but in the garden every day when possible. Do try to drink water but struggle with this. No watering needed to be done today but will be doing a lot more gardening over the next few days till we go away.
Unless budgeted, no takeaways, coffee shops, lunches out etc. F&C supper tonight.
Perhaps keep track on here of items/ lbs lost and £s made:
So far have put on a pound in weight & made £134.12 - more to come. Lost the pound I put on last week..more sales will update when I know the total. £300+ and lost another pound, now over £400.
Yearly we are halfway through 2018. Good idea, will have a big list of outside jobs that need doing/big/small & in between. List needs updating as some jobs done..updated list. Need to make lots of list for jobs to be done before we go; things we need to take etc..

Good morning Turtles
I’m at work later so I thought I’d pop by now
I’ve only managed 9/15 NSDs so far but plenty of fresh stuff in so hopefully will have a few more yet
I’ve got a biggish chicken defrosting for tomorrow which will do at least 2 meals and at probably 3 lunches and a tub of tomato sauce made from mainly wrinkly tomatoes, onions and some left over peppers which will go on spaghetti for tonight’s tea.
Yesterday we went Campervan hunting. We’ve got the size we would like worked out now. We don’t do a lot of miles now OH is retired so will use it as our daily driver so still only one lot of insurance, tax etc. There’s only the two of us so don’t need anything too big and if anyone else wants to come they can sleep in the awning. We’re not lie on the beach type of people and this means we can have a couple of days here and there and can take food with us (which will help the diet) There’s loads of places in the UK and Europe we want to visit. Supporting local areas in the UK .Now all we have to do is to keep looking until we find one we like and can afford.
I’m grateful to our neighbor for the cake he brought round (the postman leaves parcels with us when our neighbors are out. No problem we’d do it anyway and they’d do it for us but a lovely gesture) Also for the last couple of nights being cooler (I’ve slept like a baby) and OH cooking more now I’ve got a job ( my feet and back complain a bit by the end of my shift but I’ll get used to it)
Nothing to go to the charity shop this week but I did do one shif
I hope everyone is keeping well
Better go

Morning all
I haven't checked in for a few days, so really just popping on to say hello
We have an old campervan Cuddlymarm, a small, old, pretty basic one, and it is a moneypit, but we love it :heartsmil It is so much fun. We don't 'do' holidays apart from camping, and because it is so small and basic we only tend to go for a few days at a time, which is a bit limiting. We could afford a bigger /better one but parking is an issue where we live, so introducing a huge lorry- like affair wouldn't go down well with the neighbours. And I don't like leaving the garden to its own devices for more than a few days (especially this weather!) as one of our moneysaving strategies is growing as much of our own food as we can in our little garden. We do have a car as well, which lives in the garage. The camper van sadly won't fit in there, as it is slightly too tall.
Up to 6 NSDs (not really a priority for me, as I prefer to shop little and often, but counting them is useful because it makes me think harder about spending). Hoping for another today. Charity donation done for this month
Like Sashanut I am going to prioritise decluttering a bit more. I did have a purge a while ago, but can see it building up againMade a start yesterday by taking a nice skirt that I have never worn, (and sadly can't do so now because of a recent operation on my tummy) to the CS

Morning :coffee:
If you can imagine having a hangover whilst still being drunk - that is how I am feeling today. I'm not still drunk, but my poorly ear makes me feel drunk permanently at the moment.
I thought I'd been quite sensible but clearly not - however, I had planned just to write today off anyway. I've managed to wash the dishes, hoover and change the cat litter and I am also playing the role of taxi for the kids to see their dad. Apart from tv, crochet and this then I think that will be more than enough for today.
Not giving up
Working hard to pay off my debt
Time to take back control

Hope you're feeling a bit better, CCL.
NSD No 14.
The Boy's washing has all been done and dried on the line. Hardly anything needing ironed.
Took quite a lot out of the freezer. Soup and bread for my lunch. Pizza for himself. Scampi for dinner and two little individual apple pies for pudding. A free range chicken defrosting in the fridge for tomorrow. Sneaked a bag of something into the food recycling. No idea what it was or how long it's been there but I know it was inedible.
Nice quiet night watching Midsommer Murders, I think.Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.0 -
Another day of no spending for me today ( NSD 17/20 ) and I have to say I'm getting a bit stir crazy not spending
Saturday is usually my gallivanting day but there's no point when you've no money to spend. I have about £17 left in my budget but its dgs' birthday on Friday and I'm going to see the new Mamma Mia film at the end of the month so things will be really tight.
USE - I used up a tin of mackerel in tomato sauce from my storecupboard for lunch. It wasn't that good and to make matters worse as I was opening the tin the lid pinged and I was covered in tomato sauce . I rushed and changed and spent ages scrubbing and soaking my top in vanish. Eventually I got my top cleaned. I won't be buying that again!
JUMP - No walking today but I did cut the front hedge - that was a good job done.
INSPIRE - I was moaning at my friend this afternoon about how fed up I was not spending and she inspired me to keep going
GRATITUDE - funny how even when not working there's something special about sitting watching a dvd on a Saturday night with a packet of cheese & onion crisps and a drambuie and ice. CHEERS xxDebt free - Mortgage free - Work free ( in that order)

apple muncher - My contract at the school is now finished. I have no other work lined up. Am taking a well earned break and going to start working on some of my goals/bucket list.
NSD 15/20 Was a spend day. A tiny food top up. Did buy female products through an ethical company which are plastic free. Brought a few but will last me a while. Also a box of bamboo toilet paper.
Now planning to make a start on my goals/bucket list.
Inspire - Will try.
Value - Will look into other ways to save for days out etc.
Every - Have done. Grateful for:
Having a chilled out day.
Spend a couple of hours round a friend's.
Doing self-care today.
Jump - Will definitely do walking as it will help my mental health also. Walked to and from shop, all together about 25 minutes. Walked to friend's.
Unless - Did give in and brought a take away for my friend and me.
Lose - Done decluttering for now. Still need to sort out items put aside to be recycled to cs and recycling centre. Put some more bits into the bag for the cs.
Yearly - Have made a list as to what needs to done or going out trips/experiences/voluntary work for rest of the year.Frugal Living Challenge 2025 Mortgage free as of 1st August 20130
