So pleased to hear your news Indigo :T
NSD 4 for me today (actually, yesterday)
Been awol due to illness, both mine and baby GS (means I have to babysit other grandchild while his parents take him to appointments etc). Hopefully he is on the mend now!
Did my food bank donation today
All food from home
Confession time - spent £12 on lovely French handmade soap today, 2 bars of lavender and 2 herbes de ProvenceA real luxury, but the bars are big, and the texture is such that they last far longer than supermarket soap, so I won't need to buy more for several months. It was £2 cheaper to buy 4 in one go than to buy individual bars as and when.

Evening everyone :hello:
I've almost made it - 3 more to go. Really struggling to get up in the morning now and get to work. I've felt dizzy for weeks now and I don't know if it's tiredness, the heat, dehydration, my antihistamines or what. I almost always feel better once I've first woken though so I'm inclined to think that it's tiredness.
Difficult day at work today - the kids are as ready as we are for getting away on hols.
Budget is looking very tight so I'm relieved to report that the exam board look as though they are going to pay up tomorrow. It's much needed, and now I have YNAB in theory I should be able to not fritter it away.
Mothernerd, please take care. Is it worth getting yourself checked out?
Indigo - pleased to hear about your flat. Not giving up
Working hard to pay off my debt
Time to take back control

NSD No 11. Just some YS sage and stuffing purchased.
First of the bags taken to the charity shop and lots of shirts washed and ironed to go on Thursday. Made an appointment at a new hairdressers for cut/colour next week. £30,00 cheaper than my normal one and closer to home.
I did have a few plans for decluttering this afternoon but was asked unexpectedly to look after the wee ones whilst their mother dealt with some things relating to her mother's funeral tomorrow. My heart is breaking for her. The wee ones were just lovely and I am so glad we can help out. Times like this really put things into perspective, don't they?
So plodding on and just grateful for being in such a fortunately position.Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.0 -
NSD 12/20 Was an NSD today.
Set - Done the budget for the month.
Use - Will definitely be doing this. Still trying to using up things already in.
Revisit - Am going to set new goals. Made a list of goals and bucket list.
Vacation - Not going on holiday. Planning to have some days out/experiences. Done 2 days out already.
Inspire - Will try.
Value - Will look into other ways to save for days out etc.
Every - Have done. Grateful for:
Getting a bottle of nice wine from the Headteacher and a nice rose plant from the learning mentors.
Having a laugh in work.
Being a little bit cooler today.
Going to have an early night.
Won a competition today - items from an eco-friendly/plastic free organisation.
Doing self-care today.
Jump - Will definitely do walking as it will help my mental health also. Walked to/from bus stop/work, also around the school doing errands.
Unless - No need today.
Lose - Done decluttering for now. Still need to sort out items put aside to be recycled to cs and recycling centre.
Yearly - Have made a list as to what needs to done or going out trips/experiences/voluntary work for rest of the year.Frugal Living Challenge 2025 Mortgage free as of 1st August 20130 -
Back again - twice in one day
Today I spent £5.20 on bread, milk, eggs, sweets and tv paper for next week. Most of the spends were for grandkids visiting tomorrow :T
VALUE - I bought 2 loaves for £1.50 in HB which was great. Don't usually buy 2 but at least 1 loaf will be demolished by kids tomorrow.
JUMP - More walking today and I'm sure my knee is starting to mend. I have a gp appointment for next week but might cancel it if things keep improving. Fingers crossed !!!129310;.
GRATITUDE - I'm so grateful to DIL bringing dgc through to visit tomorrow. It only takes an hour driving but it's not a good road. I used to drive to visit them but I gave up about a year ago as I was always a nervous wreck by the time I got there. I now go by 3 buses, it takes over 2 hours but I have a lovely journey. I go with my book, a flask of coffee and a snack and treat it like a little adventure.
USE - Today I baked Peanut Butter & Chocolate Chip cookies and used up some peanuts and peanut butter I had since Xmas. I also made cheese scones and egg mayonnaise and cheese salad to make up sandwiches.
I'm starting to think I'm not going to keep within the £50 budget - I think I was a bit too enthusiastic xxDebt free - Mortgage free - Work free ( in that order)

NSD 8/15
Last two day have been spend days, petrol and medication for my boy to take on holidays.
Very busy day in work, so an early night in on the cards for me. Sticking to my meal plan which I am pleased about. Not much else to report.
Have a good evening all.0 -
Quite a good day, despite all the wonky bits. Went shopping for mum (bought wraps and sandwich fillings for me). Whilst at mum's I finished the current jigsaw puzzle - she left me the building part that was stone and windows, decreasing in size across the puzzle.
Did some weeding and put the bins out, 4 loads of washing, dried all of DS2's, helped the woman across the road cutting a leyllanddiii down to size - only went to offer her the tree saw but took an umbrella to hook the inner branches down. She's only cutting it down to about six feet and had just decided to fill the green bin before collection tomorrow. We filled mum's as well and nearly got a commission from mum's neighbour - he was charged £120 for 30 minutes work (chainsaw and a chopper grinder thing (forgotten the name) last time he had a tree taken down.
Made tea for us both, set up a new jigsaw (12 doorways but all different colourways) in case mum wants to do some, watched a programme about owls (had seen the episode earlier in the year where a nasty squirrel came in and raided their nest). Came home and put my bins out.
Crafts tomorrow, back at mum's on Thursday - changed days again for the duration of the summer holidays.
Today I am grateful for mum having friendly neighbours, for all the things growing in the garden, for managing to get things done. ccl I have my physiotherapy consult tomorrow, hoping to get some good advice (especially as mum is now offering dire warnings about only being allowed two injections and then having to go on a list to have it operated on). Knees very creaky today. Ah well, many a good tune played on an old fiddle. My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage0 -
Hi all :j
Never happened before but just lost my entire post & too tired to do it again...so checking in & update tomorrow....
Will try for 13 NSDs & hope to get nearer to 20....now 10/13 (for Monday)
Set your budgets not yet done
Use Most definitely want to do this; have a mountain of food & stuff to clear. Done hardly anything but washing, drying, ironing & then listing..
Revisit Targets were like other peoples I think, to lose weight (not really); to declutter - some progress; to stop wasting money - also some progress there..will list any weight losses/stuff leaving the house/money gained by selling...when it happens.. Still £44.26 so far..plus £5 voucher for doing a survey; £49.26 Another £3 voucher today: still £52.26. Have more to add, just need to total up. Still £134.12, less postage. Sold 7 items so totals will be more healthy...6 have paid I think, will update when they do.
Vacation Have already booked to go to Ireland for 3 weeks from July; aim to sell some stuff to pay for spends over there. Will also be planning some days out & at least another visit to the Old Country later in the year, probably 2. need to get a move as all this selling etc is not getting the house ready or indeed clean..
Value Always do try to use cashback sites where possible, and find value for money in shopping. Also have a card which gives me vouchers; and do some work which pays in vouchers too. Use cheaper supermarkets & have HB & Fultons here as well, which are both good for some stuff. Made do with leftovers for tea, plus made some individual cheesecakes for afters. Also picked more raspberries as the dogs were eating them & making the rest hairy - ugh.
Every Checking in 15/31
Gratitudes: Time to myself in the garden this morning before it got too hot; DD off on her hols for a few days so a little peace; listing some stuff & it selling immediately..
Jump No jumping here either but in the garden every day when possible. Do try to drink water but struggle with this. Drinking more water as having cold infuse bags which encourage me to drink more..out this morning before it got too hot.
Unless budgeted, no takeaways, coffee shops, lunches out etc. Nope.
Perhaps keep track on here of items/ lbs lost and £s made:
So far have put on a pound in weight & made £134.12 - more to come. Lost the pound I put on last week..more sales will update when I know the total..around another £100 I think.
Yearly we are halfway through 2018. Good idea, will have a big list of outside jobs that need doing/big/small & in between. List needs updating as some jobs done..
Go turtles!New start JAN15 - NOT BUYING IT 2015 . Long haul DFW #145 : 2011 DEBTBUSTING : £5500 OD GONE, £2000 OD - GONE £93,610.30 cc & loan debt - GONE 27.6.14 FINALLY DEBT & MORTGAGE FREE :happyhear0 -
Indigo fantastic news !!
Today is NSD #7. Spent yesterday as the kids needed juice.
Put my name down for yet more over time !! Did budgets last night & it's all going on Xmas. Just £500 left to find now. On track to have Xmas & our weekend away sorted by the beginning of November but I'd love to get enough Over time to make it October. Did get something for my hub yesterday & googled "voucher codes " saved myself a tenner. Better than nothing
only have £25 left in the pot & that needs to last until next Friday, so we need to be careful. It will be a picnic for Beamish this weekend & no spending.
Lost 1.5 Lb at weight watchers last night. just 9 to go. I would love to get another 2 off this month. Feeling well for getting weight off & really trying to take better care of myself :j:j
I think that's all I have to report.0 -
