Evening all :coffee:
I'm one very tired turtle teacher here today. Only 4 more get ups now and then I'll sleep for a week or more... Just about surviving but to be honest I am almost switched off. It's about 30 degrees in the school building and on top of tiredness and hayfever I'm quite sleepy.
Managed a nsd, which is lovely and I've also stuck to the meal plan for the day so I feel very saintly.
Did one job from the annoying jobs list.
Now sitting with my feet up and about to watch Unforgotten, wuth some crochet I'm desperate to finish asap as it's a gift for someone at school. Not giving up
Working hard to pay off my debt
Time to take back control

Great news indigo.
I'm not sure what to report. I am working on the house, clearing up the things that need to be done but I am so slow. My arm is quite painful but I don't want to moan about it. I will just keep plodding quietly, doing what I can.
Think my washing machine has died. DS2's has already died, so he's bringing his round here and Beloved did their washing last week - think they wait until they have no clothes left, the pile covered the space at the bottom of the stairs and rose as far as the third step. Yesterday and today I have been rubbish clearing and a bit of 'gardening' and could hear the machine (drum was only turning slowly and then it stopped to have a rest before doing a bit more - it's just like me). When DS2 brought his round it stopped altogether. I drained it, pulled his washing out and put a bit back to see if it could manage a half load - no joy. So have said I will take it to mum's with me tomorrow and do it there.
Today I am grateful for lovely food (from the freezer + some dip that was trying to ferment with a celery and the remaining mushrooms), for having a plan in mind (cadged it from someone else but it's very simple and basic) for being able to do some things, for having clean clothes (did all my washing last week and my bedding, and the bathmat and a bath sheet). My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage0 -
mothernerd - I don't find that washing machines last very long now, I had my first one for 12 years and left it in the house when we moved, since then I've had several.
I put sheets in our tumble dryer last week when it rained all day and it died after drying the first load, the drum won't turn. It is 15 years old so not totally unexpected. It is from a company about 3 miles away from us that manufacture them all on site so I will call at their factory shop for another one for winter.
Bought DD's school blazer at the weekend, she tried two on and said the bigger one was fine but has now decided it is too big so I need to go back:mad:. The blooming thing was £65 so I'm hoping the smaller one is a bit cheaper.
Sold an item on ebay and have two more with bids, I'm debating leaving the money in paypal and buying a new winter cycling jacket or moving the money out to savings.Debt Free and now a saver, conscious consumer, low waste lifestyler

Hi, I didn't getting posting yesterday as my good friend popped round for dinner. She was just back from a holiday of a lifetime to Israel - unfortunately her phone was stolen on her second last day and with it all her photos. Her " Cloud" memory was full and so photos were not saved anywhere. I pay 79p a month for Cloud storage and have often thought of stopping this monthly direct debit but now I'll definitely keep it. Her stories of Bethlehem, Jerusalem, Jericho etc etc were amazing and I am now thinking I'd love to visit there. Maybe once I'm getting my state pension and not always dipping into my savings.
YEARLY - I went through presents list and am very well organised. My main presents for all close adults is going to be quilted Xmas stockings personalised with recipients names. I have made 4 and have another 6 to do. I have most fabric but will probably need to spend another £20. Inside I shall put a small gift eg a bar of chocolate or box to Maltesers. All other smaller gifts are already bought from the January sales. I have not bought anything for my 3 grandchildren who are 3,5 and 8. This will be a big spend as I buy them :
Something to wear
Something to play with
Something to read
Something to watch
And something to eat
Next month I shall start looking into buying these gifts.
JUMP - I went another leisurely walk yesterday and my knee is holding up well.
I'll need to spend today as DIL and 3 grandkids visiting tomorrow. They arrive in time for breakfast. Then we'll go to the Country Park and have a picnic at lunch before they leave mid afternoon to try and miss the heavy traffic on their way home.
I am so looking forward to their visit xxDebt free - Mortgage free - Work free ( in that order)

When ours died it was 5 years old. When the next one had a fault after 6 months the mechanic told us that was way too early but most are built to only last 5 years now.
Even a few decades ago white goods were still built to last decades (good examples are the fridge and freezer that came with our house = 38 years old). Horrendous to thinks that all the modern ones go to landfill after just 5 years :eek:
Sorry, fell of the wagonbut will keep lurking for the month. I think I jump back one once these dreaded holidays are over and routine is back. Other parts of my life are working out good though (no drinking, gym, food, head space....:D)

Aiming for another NSD today (8/13) also a booze free day (and week) after an indulgent weekend. Why I'm not losing weight on my cheese, wine and chocolate diet is beyond me :rofl:0
