Evening everyone,
Just a quick check in to declare that the Peppa Pig show was a hit with the wee one, first time he’s ever sat still for a hour!
Was quite spendy though as I got a taxi back home, and got sucked into buying ice cream and a lighty thing at the theatre.
Will tot up the spends tomorrow, I’m cream crackered as little one was up just after 5am so it’s an earliesh night for meVSPC 2019 #10 - £168.80/£100 VSPC 2020 #4 - £262.03/£200 VSPC 2021 #9 - £242.88/£200 VSPC 2022 #3 - £188.03/£200 VSPC 2023 #7 - £0/£2000 -
NSD - not left the house. Various bits are not working properly but, as this is the new norm, I am doing what I can and working through things (slower than the speed of treacle but forward is forward, even if you can only crawl). Found some notes I wrote out a few months ago about building up routines and it has made me feel better - just write down the absolute essentials (forget about cleaning the light switches) and write simple routine. Only when you can manage that (every day not just every now and then) should you add anything extra.
Have filled a (very heavy) paper sack, started all the usual rubbish bags (stuff for brown bin will have to wait until after the collection - it should have gone out the week we were away on holiday and although I did tell DS3 he didn't think he would remember, so 6 weeks of rubbish for that bin) I pulled all the tin cans out and squashed them flat to get a bit more in but the new ones can wait until Wednesday.
Bedding and bits of clothing have gone down for washing, pulled out the previous load but want to wipe the rubber liner before doing another load. Think the anti-biotics are working - type I have never had before and they made me feel ill for the first couple of days.
Today I am grateful for getting things done (slowly, slowly), for easy food - wraps, finished a dip off with most of a cucumber, then haddock and wedges from the freezer (and an ice lollly), for having a plan, for being in better mood than yesterday. My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage0 -

I am so sorry to hear about your friend. I hope there will be a good outcome.
Hi, I have the Tefal Actifry and I love it. Chips in 20 minutes, roast potatoes in 30 minutes without parboiling first. Mixed root vegetables are terrific. I will say that chips are not quite so crisp. You can cook lots of other things in them but mostly I use it for vegetables.
I bought it after my friend raved about hers. Since then 3 friends and my DIL all have them and would all recommend them. A lot of money but if mines broke tomorrow I would go straight out and buy another.
Well .......... maybe not this month as it would blow my £50 budget :rotfl:Debt free - Mortgage free - Work free ( in that order)

Good morning Turtles
Today is NSD #7. I have £35 left after my shop last night. Hoping I have enough food ,milk etc in to last until Friday at least & then that will be enough to get one last shop in & get me to payday
Did the race for life "pretty muddy" yesterday- good fun but I pulled my back on the last slide I think & my back seem to have locked. Hoping a long walk later will help ease it off.
The family fun day was OK, not as good as last year. But there was a free bouncy castle & the kids got to sit in tanks etc. It killed an hour or so.
Swimming today - the last one until September , quite glad of the break.
Not much else to report , I hope you all have a chilled Sunday0 -
Popped into town yesterday so DS could trade in some xbox games and his old console, he now has £68 credit to spend on games. I got a pair of Topshop polka dot trousers for £2 from the CS, DH needed deoderant, DD needed foundation and she used her £5 Love2Shop voucher that she got from school for getting 100 positives.
I called into the health food shop, I had a £10 budget but managed to get everything for £8.63, I got vegan bouillion, hemp seeds, cranberries, chia seeds and golden linseeds. I also wanted vegan garlic mayo but that would have taken me over so it will have to wait.
Walked the dog in the evening and found two cherry trees which were loaded with gorgeous dark cherries, I must have passed them many times and never noticed, when I got home I got two ice cream tubs I use for blackberry picking and went back, they are now filled with cherries. I never buy them in the shops due to the price so I was very pleased.
Cycled yesterday and may do so today (it will have to be soon as it is getting warmer by the minute), other than that a lazy day with a dog walk by the river maybe.Debt Free and now a saver, conscious consumer, low waste lifestyler

Good morning - I love this weather!
Yesterday turned out to be very spendy as I went shopping with DD. We had a good bonding session though so fingers crossed that it was worth every penny. Most of the things that I bought were either food or towards my business plans - book, essential oils, two tea infusers.
Today will be spent writing the reports to finish off the exam marking and getting an early night as it will be a 4 am start tomorrow."A thousand candles can be lit from a single candle without shortening the life of that candle."

NSD 12/20 today for me.
LOSE - TIME !!! I had a long lie this morning which is very unusual for me and I just didn't get the time back all day. Really lazy day for me
USE - Arabica ground coffee I bought for Xmas. It was lovely - a real treat. I must remember to use it before next Xmas :rotfl:
JUMP - I went for a leisurely walk today and got home just as the rain was starting. First rain for ages but it's still warm.
INSPIRE - While the oven was on for Sunday dinner I made Oaty Almond Squares. I believe it's a wartime recipe from when there was a shortage of almonds.
Line a Swiss roll tin with shortcrust pastry and spread with jam. Then cover with filling which is ; 3 oz porridge oats, 6 oz caster sugar, 2 oz melted marg, 1 egg and 1 teaspoon of almond essence. Bake at 170 degrees for approx 20 mins. It's lovely as a cake or served with
custard.
YEARLY - Didn't have time to check the Xmas pressies so it's on my list for tomorrow xxDebt free - Mortgage free - Work free ( in that order)
