Hey everyone :hello:
Apologies for my absence, again. I'm genuinely just so busy with work and marking, and really, really tired. This is my busiest week though and it should be all easier once I get to Wednesday next week. I'll still be busy but should be less busy than I have been this fortnight.
I'm up to 4nsd's, which I'm pleased about and finally things seem to be settling a bit on the home front as well so it's all good. In which case I really can't explain why I feel so miserable tonight. Must just be tired I think, but I'm quite tearful for no good reason. Still, I am remembering to be kind to myself and accept it for tonight. I'll hopefully sleep it all off.
Nothing else really to report. Things are just ticking along here. Not giving up
Working hard to pay off my debt
Time to take back control

Hi all :j
A Ask yourself 'Is this necessary?' Before purchasing anything. No purchases today, still tempted but resisting - stay strong!! When you make a 'to do' list (is it realistic or even possible); No clearing done today by me, DH though clearing stuff from cellar, mainly very ancient paperwork. I seem to have spent most of the afternoon cooking..
J June challenge runs from 1st June to 30th. Aiming for tough target. Now 6/20 so far..
U Use the food you have in the cupboards, fridge and freezer to base your meals on. Meal plan (for the month or for a few days at a time, whichever suits). Cook from scratch (short cuts permitted if you are feeling stressed) Takeaway F&C was suggested, AGAIN, as it is 'fish and chip friday' . Well I made spag bol instead & there is plenty left over for another meal. Also made 2 sourdough loaves, do have an unfortunate 'cowpat' appearance (!) but should taste OK. Each loaf is double the size of the ones from L*dl, which now retails at £1.19. It was so small, DH wanted to know if it was a roll...:rotfl:
also made a strawberry tart from stocks in.
N No takeaways, coffee, chip or pie shop purchases. None today.
E Eating well is a form of self respect. Pretty good today, other than the strawberry tart..
O Offer help and encouragement to other turtles and people you meet. Be kind to everyone, especially yourself. Waves pompoms wildly encouragingly!! Trying day today, felt defeated. Attempting not to show it though.
D Debt or savings payments should be made first - live on what is left No debt other than cc I use for all purchases to get rewards - which is paid off in full every month. Will need to get the cc bill down during the month with payments made daily (PAD thread) to avoid large bill at end of month. Made first PAD yesterday, another today.
E Exercise according to your programme or your ability. Minimum of 3 times a week. Try to get outside every day. Into greenhouse before it got too hot, did lots of planting etc. Then a shower, but it didn't make much impression.
S Set all your budgets before the start of the month. Food, travel, social, diy, other. Have all receipts in shoebox awaiting DH revival of spreadsheet..
S Someone, somewhere is worse off than you. Donate to the local food bank or other charity of your choice. Clear some of your clutter and donate the goods to charity. Will be amassing stuff to take to CS as I clear the clutter; also intend to sell better items to pay for hols booked for August. Have taken photos of shoes & will list tomorrow. Donation made to vets bill; patient is slightly improved, but I think they have found he is very ill..
E Every day check in is recommended, especially when things go wrong. 8/30 here I am..
You are the most important person in your life. You are your own longest term investment. You matter. Read this and the daily quotes, take on anything you find relevant and helpful, ditch the rest. Reading, learning & inwardly digesting

Hi everyone
SFD 2/10 so pleased as Ive eaten from stores and picked my first strawberries from the allotment.
Been pottering on the lottie for exercise and although it wasn't sunny all the time, it was nice enough to sit down there with a drink and listen to the birds.
At home Ive been looking everywhere for a book, I only had it on Tuesday and cant find it anywhere, its so annoying Ive even looked in the bins!!!! It'll turn up when it wants to show itself to me, I suppose.
Nothing else to report, its the open day tomorrow at the lottie site so I will be going down there in the morning, and I can have a nosey around other peoples, its always interesting to see how other people do things differently from me, and many of the plots are behind solid gates and hedges so you cant see much unless the gate is open!!!!
Well better head off upstairs, wonder if that book is under my bed? it shouldn't be but I may as well look

Six best doctors: EXERCISE
EXERCISE is the most potent and underutilised Antidepressant. And it's free
I'm working on MYSELF for MYSELF by MYSELF
In two weeks, you'll feel it
In four weeks, you'll see it
In eight weeks, you'll hear it (losing 10lbs)
Sweat is just fat crying
Exercise not only changes your body. It changes your mind, your attitude and your mood.
Exercise because Zombies will eat the slow ones first
Run like there's a hot guy in front of you and a creepy one behind you
I've been looking at a lot of exercises for people who are (very) overweight and tired. They use your own weight to help you lose it. They are good for people with reduced mobility/ flexibility because they are modified so that eg push-ups are done against a wall or using the arm of the sofa so you don't have to get down on the floor and then lie there worrying about how you get up again.
My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage0 -

Can I join your 'mislaid book club' nannygladys?
Can't find the flippin' thing anywhere so picked up another one until I find it, but keep waking up in the middle of the night wondering which character is going to turn up dead on a beach next.... possibly not the best summer reading choice.
This weather is making me tired and grumpy.
Baby plasterer has cancelled on me again, he will be here on Monday. As he had to take 4 days off with a V&D illness, he is behind with his work, and tbh the lady yapping at him because she booked a kitchen fitter for a few days after the plasterer. She must be crazy! Or has never had a workman in the house. They really are not the most reliable are they? It is like trying to organise kittens.
At least my job is purely cosmetic and although DH is being grumpy about it (he can't find his earphones and won't pick things up to sort through them), it is a minor inconvenience, and will be sorted in the June list of stuff that is finished.
Having great free fun with the FREE DuluX visualiser app on my phone.. It works! You can check out what your room looks like with black walls!!! I am veering wildly between ribena berry purple, a dark teal, or a deep green for the living room. Very dramatic!! And totally free! Simple pleasures!
Grey and dull here today.
Will remember to breathe
DH is working today, and as it was the first week back at school I am letting the kids chill out and not drag them around the place.
My courgette plants are looking good. I wonder if my tomato plants will actually produce a tomato? Stranger things have happened at sea.......4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

Good morning all
Not caught up with all the posts yet - will do later. I hope you are all OKwe just landed back yesterday & I am up to my eyes in washing & house work. I WILL get this sorted today though.
Lovely holiday & managed to come in well under budget. The only issue was our travel agent neglected to pay the airline for my baggage & that cost me 70 quid. I am going to phone now to get a refund. We were really sensible while still having a fab time. the kids didn't get a single thing all week & saved their money for something decent on the last day. We took water bottles & our own snacks & we really had an amazing time without buying rubbish. Although I did get them a balloon and a some popcorn final day for the parade. I daren't tell you what those cost :rotfl:
Budgets have now been set & I have 140 left for the month providing I get this refund. Really feel refreshed & ready to get back into the swing of things. put my name down for a days overtime while on hol as they emailed me & agreed with hub that I will start going YS shopping again now I'm back.
Grateful for; lovely memories, the rhubarb going crazy while I've been gone , my roses coming through & my boys new found love for toy story0 -
Spendy day yesterday.....
Planned night out for dh's presentation.
It was quite fun but also he spent quite a lot.
It's ok though we can still manage the month without going in to savings.
Other than that, went food shopping for the week, spent £49, not to bad for 5.
Paid £45 off my n3xt account. I've decided to concentrate on paying this off first, so that its out of the way. There isn't a huge balance (£350) but none the less it's a balance.
I need to get dd a rain coat, possibly today.
She hasn't got one with a hood, which is a problem at 13 and you've spent an hour straightening your hair every morning.....:rotfl:0 -

Morning all, and thank you Mothernerd and Greent for your kind words and support.
Yesterday was another spend day though on things that I needed and not wanted. Spent some more time tidying the garden up, although it was not sunny it was pleasantly warm.
Today's plan tidy up the downstairs and my daughter is helping to do upstairs.
I really need to go into my bedroom and have a good tidy up and de-clutter the draws and wardrobes. Though I will plan this over a few days next week probably Thursday and Friday since I am in work Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.
Today I am grateful for this group who help and support with words of wisdom thank you all xxMFWB#2
