3 mobile broadband

A follow up to my moaning in December. Eventually I realised the modem just wants
to start the software itself. I let windows boot up, wait 15 seconds, plug the modem in, and it starts the software itself within 30 seconds. Then it almost always works. It's also very rarely slow to load web pages now so 3's service must have improved
since December.0 -
Who is the best/cheapest PAYG 3G internet provider - a mate is getting broadband set up but it's taking an age and he'd like to get something temporary so he can work from home.
He lives in Clapham so no problems with signals I think.0 -
T-Mobile internet is free for ten days (as a welcome). Get a sim card from a T-Mobile shop because they're free if you top up by at least a fiver. The View Belongs To Everyone0

I got 3 mobile broadband a few months ago, after being assured it would work in my house, which i explained had trouble getting mobile phone signal
Several months on and im angry and frustrated as it rarely works, i spend most of my time logging on and off, unplugging the dongle and moving my laptop around trying to get a signal.
Im tied into a 2 year contract but i want to cancel the contract altogether, as i feel im not getting the service im paying for.
Am i entitled to do so?? Im more than happy to cancel it, return the dongle and use the broadband i can have at home.Undefeated Wii Fit ski jump champion!

Hi,
I'm not sure whether you would be entitled to cancel but if I were you I'd certainly try and say just as you have that you are paying for a service you are not receiving.
Good luck anyway - I hope they release you from your contract and I'm sure someone more knowledgeable wll be along soon with some advice for you.
This was just the worry I had - I almost went for 3 as it was cheaper but I'd heard so many horror stories about them that I chose Vodafone's mobile broadband instead and so far (touch wood) it has been very reliable. I would recommend them (and no, I'm not connected in any way to Vodafone).
Kind regards0 -
I got a payg 3 dongle as a pressie a couple of weeks ago and it has been the most frustrating thing! Occasionally it works, but most of the time there is no signal or it stops in the middle of e.g. a transaction. This is despite being in a turbo area for signal. Even my hubby has tried it near the local airport which has a 5 bar signal and although it worked initially, it then just suddenly stopped and there was no received data. There continued to be a 5 bar signal though.
It is very hit or miss and depends on where you are and whether others are using the network. Not recommended.

I signed up to a 12 month light user (1GB) contract as a backup/2nd connection. It works about 70% of the time but during peak times it is very poor, taking ages to load a webpage if at all.
At 4am in the morning it flies along so its obvious that 3 cannot cope with bandwidth demand rather than it being faults with the dongle/network.0 -
Hi can somebody please answer foloowing two questions regarding the three mobile broadband:
1. I have a three mobile contract at the moment. If I order the three mobile broadband (1gb tariff) will I get a separate sim card with the usb modem or will I have to use my mobile sim card?
2. If I get a separate sim with the usb modem then can I use my allowance by surfing the net on my mobile phone or is that not included?
thanks in advance0 -

The USB dongle comes with it's own SIM

Mobile totally separate
