Does anyone know whether this ..starts 4th. Sep but with limited coverage...will also work on their normal 3G network or just on these upgraded 'Turbo' networks?
Obviously will be slower, as data card.
If not then they are going to have lots of unhappy bunnies signing up and paying for a service they can't get for one, two, three months minimum.
Also anyone know if contains any roaming allowance (data card does) ...3 site temptingly refers to 'excessive roaming usage' re new service.
Thanks
ps asking here as usual 3 Indian response!

Couldn't find your link but checked it out and it simply does not say anything about roaming outside uk - which might be good news as possibly included. Might just have to try and see - tempted...
Some info on 3's rollout plans here.

1GB usage limit on the £10 package.
10p per MB that equates to £10 per extra GB. Ouch!
£15 package 3gb £25 package 7gb, again with £10 per extra GB.
Still if you are mobile it is not a bad package, but how much of the UK it will truly cover.
It is not clear what happens if you are outside the Three's Turbo Network, whether you will get slow speeds or nothing.0 -
If you click on the "Questions" link you can find the answer to what happens outside of the Turbo area -
You will experience our fastest speeds when using Mobile Broadband in areas where we have Turbo coverage. However, outside of these areas our 3G network still provides good speeds for internet browsing across 90% of the UK.Please note: Although you can use Mobile Broadband in the UK when you roam onto 2G, the speeds are much slower.
So it will work at dial-up speeds using the 2G network. I'm on the T-mobile version of this. Coverage does not seem as comprehensive as T-mobile, but the tariff looks like a better deal for the light user. Might be work keeping an eye on any cashback deals that pop up from the usual lot (mobiles.co.uk, onestopphoneshop, mobileshop, phonebox direct etc etc) for bargain price broadband for the light user.0 -
If you go through quidco.com you get £55 for signing up to this offer.
Also if you currently have a 3 mobile you can refer yourself as a friend (I was told by customer service this was ok to do). Which means both you and your friend (you) get £30 so thats another £60 saved0 -
I'm having issues!
They are going to try and charge me for exceeding my data limit (3gb), however the program that comes with the modem still says i'm barely over 2gb, they claim I've used about £50 extras worth (so around 3.6gb). I think there's a ridiculous difference between the (at the time) 1.9gb on the program and the 3.6gb that they claim. Am I right to kick up a royal fuss about this?
But getting it sorted is a nightmare, tried calling the bangalore help desk who were admitedly very understanding of the problem, only problem is they tried to solve it by calling me and leaving a voicemail on my 3 USB modem (can't phone them back).
So have emailed them using the feedback tool on their website, and have also made a screenshot of the program showing its usage combined with the BBC news website showing the date.
Do you think I'll be successful in getting them to scrap this charge, or will they just try and beat me through the "oh he'll get bored eventually". I think next step might be to write to them?
Anyone had similar situation, and any advice for getting the best out of 3?0 -
Hello All,
I have moved house and am looking for a broadband provider. All of them need a live BT line to provide broadband (I am not in a Virgin cable area). And after wating for 25 days BT today has told me that the line is not active and the activation charge would be £125.
I am considering 3 as an alternative as they dont need me to have a landline. Do you any of you have experience with 3 - wireless broadband? How good is it?
Thank you,
Vengie0 -
mine is good, no probs since feb on any aspectSO... now England its the Scots turn to say dont leave the UK, stay in Europe with us in the UK, dont let the tories fool you like they did us with empty lies... You will be leaving the UK aswell as Europe0

Hi,
I read your post and we have exactly the same problem - BT want £125 just to re-connect the line! We use our free minutes on mobiles to communicate and so have no need for this line except for broadband. Ive found out that you can get a wireless router that will pick up radio signals instead of using the phoneline. You can go through 3, or i think The Cloud will also let you pick up frequencies when out and about. I have no idea still so if you do find out, please can you let me know? We have managed to connect to someone elses but this isnt long term and im not sure about security issues!
Thanks for the heads up!

I would also be most interested to know of other users of Three's broadband internet. I've just moved into a flat with no live BT line and the Three offer looks very tempting and flexible starting at around £10/month. What are Three customers' views of mobile coverage around the country - I'd need to use it both in the Devon and Nottingham areas. Has anybody had any problems with Three in setting up this newish form of broadband.0
