Thats very weird mate I check My3 everyday aswell to make sure I do not go over the limit and I always think that I have used a lot more than what it is actually stating.
  • checked my bill this moring for next month too, its showing no extra charges though its only a draft at moment so is subject to change- hopefully be no extra charges..

  • Signed up for the £15 broadband deal today and really not sure what to make of it. Half the time it runs really well and is comparable to the wi-fi hotspots I have been using. The rest of the time it sits there not moving data in either direction.
I've not quite decided whether to keep it on. The alternative is walking 20 minutes to the nearest hotspot, and then having to pay £2 for a coffee.
Have run the speed test a few times, but it doesn't reflect time spent waiting for the connection to start doing something again

They are very variable speeds looks like you are caught in the middle of a 3G and HSPDA area and it keep jumping between the two.

It does keep jumping from 3G to HSDPA (light on the modem keeps changing colour), although according to the coverage map I am well into the Turbo area.
One other note is that using the modem makes a big difference to laptop battery life, seems to knock about a third off on mine.

Yeh it will drain your battery but I have not noticed my usage time reduce drastically.

Have you tried using the modem in a different room to see of that makes a difference? Mine sometimes jumps between the two but only when its raining.
  • Hi

I Would be greatful for some advice.

I am thinking of getting a relative one of these mobile broadband packages as she does not have access to a LAN Line. With these contracts is there a maximum time you can stay connected. My question is, if we go for the 15.00 3 Network, and she forgets to disconnect from the internet will there be additional charges for that blunder.

I know this is vague, but she is not computer literate at all, so will not know what she is doing.

    Thanks

With these packages you pay for content downloaded, not for time connected. On o2 I pay 7.50 a month and get 200 MB per month. I do not use it all the time, but I do use it a lot and I have not stepped over this usage.HTH

If she does stay connected it will not use much allowance.

I cannot find this £7.50 per month deal on the O2 website. In fact, I cannot see anything about mobile broadband on their website and when I popped in to my local Carphone Warehouse store, they knew nothing about it. Can you give us some more details?

Edit: Sorry, just read post 2 and other posts so have realized that you have a mobile contract with a data package added on.
