  • I think we need a few more players in the game.

Competition should improve service and keep prices reasonable.

Mobile broadband is a good idea once they get it right.

One thing I like about regular broadband is that you can get monthly contracts so you're not tied in for two years.

    Hi

Does any body think they`ll be any decent cashback deals on this?

    Thanks

There is no cashback deals where you have to send your bills in for redemption but what I did; when I ordered my 3 mobile broadband was to go through Quidco and purchase from the 3 website and they give you £55 cashback.

Even though I connect at full HSDPA strength I never hit the connection speed of 3.6MB; the highest I have achieved is just over 1MB, which is fine for web browsing and emails.

There was a discussion on the What Mobile forum recently where a 3 staff member had said 3.6meg has not actually been rolled out yet and was only in Central London, as I recall. Most Turbo areas still have a max speed of 1.8meg.

As an aside, I frequently use my n95 on T-Mobile web and walk for connection to my laptop, some days I leave it connected all day and it works very well at HSDPA speeds.

That's sounds like a very good way to join 3.
  • went into 3 shop today, the salesman said that 14 day peice of mind has now gone down to 3 days,i said whys that, are you getting a lot of returns,he rekoned they only had 2 returned out of 20!so i said if its not doing what its ment to do i cant bring it back a week later,he said no youve got 28 days if your not satisfied,so kinda contridicts itself!also he rekons there bringing it out tomorow as a payg version,no contract, but have to pay £100 for the modem.
when he showed me it in the shop on a laptop it seemed to be fairly quick finding the page, but when he was on u tube playing a video it kept stopping every now & then whilst it was buffing, but mine does that sometimes with my wireless at home..still not 100%convinced,but spose if ur not happy with it i think due to your consumer rites you can take it back with in 28 days......

I don't understand the return policy but you are better off getting it on a contract because they charge you £1/MB and you pay £69.99 for the modem on a 12 month contract and don't forget to go through Quidco to get £55 cashback.
  • thanks fayraz,

Sign upto Quidco and log into your account and click on the link, which will take you to the 3 website and purchase your product. If your purchase is tracked succesfully you will receive the cashback to your registered bank account via BACS, which there is a charge of 5p per transaction, the only thing Quidco is charge is £5 per year from your earnings.

    Have a look at the links below for more information;

The link for 3 on Quidco is here: http://www.quidco.com/3-mobile/

To find out how Quidco works look here: http://www.quidco.com/help/22/

    Hope this helps!
