3 mobile broadband

I'm intersted in any views of anywhere. Hubby ordered this for my son and was told all should be ok (SW9 area). Not really needed for mobile usage, but it will come in handy with his laptop if needed.
Also anyone used this via a mac??
If so did you need to install drivers??
We've been told at the shop the drivers for the mac are pre-installed.
We'll give it a try for a few days and if useless send it back. We've got 14 days but I believe you only have 3 days to try it out??
Incidentally, it has not tracked with Quidco as yet, though the deal could only be taken via their site so should be easily sorted.

have read elsewhere the b/b dongles are overhyped.. the sales guy in brighton shop was almost salivating at the thought of me signing up, though went distinctly cool when i said just wanted the PAYG version..

Got my kit saturday morning. Waited 24 hours & set it up/tried to use it. Nothing. So rang 0870 techi, read imei & sim codes - no account set up, told to ring 0870 accounts - they have account, no problem, ring 0870 hyper accounts - they'll manually set up accounts ( do I have one or not ??? ) told wait 24 hours and try again.

Monday afternoon try again - nothing. Ring 0870 hyper accounts, told to try again in 24 hours.

Mobile rings - it's 3 !!!!

I spoke to Sheila ( who is not allowed to give her surname )
I can't connect because the dongle they've sent out isn't mine ( imei code ). It actually belongs to another '3' customer who returned it to them because it doesn't work. Logistics at the warehouse don't yer know.
Me : can you send me another then ?
Sheila : No - we have to cancel your contract
Me : Why ? Can't you just send a replacement ?
Sheila : No - we have to cancel your contract
Sheila : We'll send you a pre-paid envelope to return everything, but you have to send it back before 13/08/08 otherwise you'll be outside your 14 day cancellation period.
Me : Even though you've sent me someone else's dongle, and you've accepted you've done this ?
Sheila : Yes
Sheila : Hopefully the direct debit won't be activated, if it is you'll have to write to us explaining why you want a refund.
Me : What ??????
Sheila : And if you decide to take out a new contract with '3', if you get in touch with me, I'll manually try to prevent you being credit-checked again.

How can you be "not impressed" with 3 wireless broadband, when you have not tried it yet?

I got mine through friday, connected straight away and have had no problems with it since. I've had a 3 mobile for years and have very rarely found places with no/little signal hence which reassured me. So far, can only say how impressed i've been!

Southampton area btw.
