3 mobile broadband

Hi, I'm looking at getting mobile broadband on 3, the 15gb deal for £15 a month as I'm already a customer.
However, when I go to order, there seems to be an admin charge of £195! Now, this could be because my laptop screen is tiny and it's actually £1.95, does anyone actually know?
Also, is anyone using it on a laptop running Linux? It states that you need Windows or a Mac but as it's just a USB drive, will it work?
Thanks in advance.0 -
I use a 3 pay as you go mobile with an internet pay monthly £5 charge.
I attach a cheap bluetooth dongle to my PC, and I get about 3Gigs a month for £5 at Bluetooth dial-up of 115.2kb/s. This is fast enough for me. Why pay more than £5 a month..?I shot a vein in my neck and coughed up a Quaalude.

What sounds good about this idea is that if it's PAYG and you just top up every month they can't charge extra if you go over 3Gb per month.
The problem with most mobile BB providers is if you go over your monthly download limit there can be expensive charges for the amount you go over.If you have a DD set up they can take it from there.
Luckily T Mobile BB don't charge extra. I'm not sure what they do I think they may warn you if you keep doing it and suggest a higher tarriff.0 -

Their mobile broadband deals are a rip-off, I think.I shot a vein in my neck and coughed up a Quaalude.

Well I live out in the sticks and borrowed my brothers T Mobile dongle thingy as he's abroad at the moment.
I get BB speeds in town around 500kbps sometimes more it just depends on the time of day.
Out in the countryside I get dialup speeds of around 40kbps.
I don't have a BT line anymore so mobile BB even at this low 40kbps is better than nothing. Ok for surfing and email.
I have to put the dongle near a window in one room to get a good signal and then use a few USB extension cables to get the signal to my comp in the living room.
I'd like to get something if possible so I don't use wires trailing along the floor. Not sure if Bluetooth could be used for this.0 -

The bluetooth dongle is around £5 and I pay £5 a month internet access on my 3 Payg mobile.I shot a vein in my neck and coughed up a Quaalude.

There is an admin charge of £1.95, so hopefuly that's what you're seeing, not £195!!!
I'm using a 3 dongle with Linux (ubuntu). The Huawei E220 modem is known to work, so that's the best one to go for. I use the Network Manager 0.7 and it connects pretty well. Sometimes I have to connect and disconnect a couple of times to get a good speed but I regularly get 700+kb/s which more than meets my needs.

Does anyone have any info on how to get the three mobile broadband service for £5pm ? I think you require a three mobile phone to use this loophole if you any info i would be greatful
many thanks0 -
Yes. A 3 Pay As you Go mobile, and a bluetooth dongle for your PC. A £5 internet add-on gets me around 3Gigs a month.
I've been using this since April, and it beats their mobile broadband prices. Connection speed is 115.2kb/s bluetooth dial-up, but that is fast enough for me.
Technically, it isn't broadband. Video streaming stutters a bit, but I've had no problem downloading large files.I shot a vein in my neck and coughed up a Quaalude.
