Thanks everyone I feel much better this morning and have had some toast and coffee for breakfast which I couldn’t face yesterday. I managed half a slice of toast all day yesterday and that was a struggle.Thank you for the lemonade tip Tuna it perked me up quite a bit. Reminded me of my young days when a lemonade with a dash of lime was the go to drink for a dodgy tummy.
It was a really weird one as I felt really sick but wasn’t sick and had bad stomach cramps but not an upset stomach. I had absolutely no appetite whatsoever and I couldn’t even look at photos of food. My WW order arrived and I couldn’t bear to unpack it. Mr SA had to cook his own dinner, under supervision, but the cooking smells made me heave. On the plus side I had a day’s rest, lots of sleep and a 1 day detox. Will be taking it easy today, just pottering about and stick to plain food only.
Have a great Sunday xI get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)7 -

Mr SA cooking his own dinner ( I know supervised ) but he can do it - sort of !As a dear MSE friend says “keep plodding” or

It was only cheeseburger and chips. The chips were cooked in the air fryer and the burger in a frying pan, all of which were assembled by me, he just had to keep his eye on the burger but burned the bottom of the pan. Morning all, happy Monday 😎
Still not 100% but a lot better than I was on Saturday and my appetite is slowly coming back. No running this morning unsurprisingly, my legs feel quite wobbly from lack of food.
Windows/door people coming this afternoon so will see what they say. Mr SA not happy about spending money on them even though said windows and door are over 30 years old and well past their best - one window is held together by tape to stop it falling out! He says he wants to go to Lanzarote instead, explained to him (a) this is an entirely different pot of money and (b) Lanzarote is on the quarantine list so we can't go. I've had this battle with forever about spending money on the house he hasn't changed in this respect. I need to get the windows done before I can move on with doing up the living room and master bedroom (which incidentally Mr SA also thinks don't need anything doing to them!!).
Have a good one folks x

Oh dear, it’s a good job you don’t need him to sign anything 😬 I would just get them done and tell him you are afraid to holiday anywhere while the house / windows aren’t secure. Once it’s done you can go to lanzarote when quarantine is over, but not while the windows are held in by tape.....or bribe him with lipsalve? Good luck! Not all who wander are lost - J.R.R.Tolkien

Hope the quote isn't too expensive, tell Mr Sa that you are tar serious risk of being robbed and wouldn't be covered by your insurance if your windows aren't secure enough

Well the window people have been and it's less than I suspected it would be but more than I've got saved in the home improvements pot. However, they are doing 0% interest free credit over 3 years so have gone for this option. This means I can keep the money in my pot and pay the instalments from it. OMG the salesman couldn't half talk. I know I probably could've got a slightly cheaper quote elsewhere but this company has a very good reputation and my work colleague was very impressed with them and she had quite a few companies come out to quote. They are a local company and have been going for 48 years. He said they have been busier than ever since Covid. Anyway I'm going ahead with it but they won't be able to get until December or January. Mr SA stuck his oar in and started talking about having more windows done, I felt like kicking him, I told him it was only the front bays and the front door. There is one window in the spare room that's a bit dodgy but it's newer and could probably just be repaired, it's only the handle that keeps falling off. Plus he asked lots of daft questions to the point of it being embarrassing.
So the deed is done, deposit paid, credit application submitted and approved. Another thing off the never ending list of things to have done to the house.
Yet again came up the car business when the salesman thought we were out because there wasn't a car in the drive. Yes no car in this day and age 🤨

So annoyed with Mr SA, he's phoned his sister to tell her about the windows/door and she's told him it's too expensive and we need to get more quotes as she paid less for hers. Her windows and door are much smaller than ours plus she always does everything on the cheap and is forever having to have things replaced. Our door isn't just a bog standard front door, it's a whole unit with side panels on the side of the house and the bay windows are huge - typical of a 1930s house. Her house is nothing like ours! I've told him to stop telling her how much we're paying for things it's nothing to do with her. I'm totally aware we could get cheaper but the quality wouldn't be as good. Grr...
On a separate note I see the Greek Islands have gone on the quarantine list for England now. Glad we went when we did.
A work friend has invited me to her house for an afternoon of drinks and nibbles in the next couple of weeks, date tbc. Will tell Mr SA I'm meeting her in town to save the 101 questions and him phoning his sister to see if she approves. Looking forward to it as I haven't met up with anyone since February this year.
Finance wise I had an underspend of £13.22 on the groceries front last week which is good. Week 3/4 of the budget starts today.
