Lovely thick pork chops complete with kidney to be served with new potatoes.  I'll be doing them on the bbq and as always will remove the rind and cook it as well as it will crackle up better that way.  Not sure what's to go with it....I have salad leaves & tomatoes but there may be veg in the freezer that will make it more like a roast dinner.  OH will insist on some bisto....

A leg of lamb is roasting away merrily in the oven as I type, which we will have with French beans and carrots from the garden, and a few naughty roast potatoes and even naughtier Yorkshire pudding. Mister CJ doesn't think it is a proper Sunday roast without yorkies, irrespective of what the meat is!

I have made a totally sinful banoffee pie for pud. And I have opened a bottle of wine.  Sheesh.

I'm vegetarian so not enjoying reading about all the joints and chops merrily doing things but never mind . . . I'm having a late meal of new pots, cheese and onion omelette and tomatoes fresh from my neighbour's greenhouse. With a dash of mayo. And a pina colada. Well, a girl's gotta have fun, as Cyndi Lauper knows only too well.

We had Jacob’s ladder on BBQ today, bean burgers for the veggies, a side dish of feta and tomato spaghetti as the ‘kids’ had had a heavy weekend and were nursing hangovers 😂 various salads on offer too. Made cheese stuffed baby peppers as a starter.

HM vanilla and honeycomb icecream for pud.

I had another portion of butternut squash curry with a side salad that I made more interesting with some fresh pineapple pieces, I used the juice as an impromptu dressing. I'm currently trying to decide between cheese and biscuits or stewed apple and blackberries for pud.

I’m using up the last of yesterday’s roast lamb. It will be shredded and added to cooked rice, chopped steamed spinach, grated courgette, finely chopped onions and mushrooms cooked with cumin and cayenne, and some diced feta cheese. The whole lot gets wrapped in buttery filo pastry and baked - I’m hoping to get at least four portions out of it.

Well it's been a bank holiday of non cooking.
Friday was fish and chips from the local chip shop. They changed hands not so long ago and whilst the prev one was good, this one is amazing. Massivr portions and loads of menu options including veggie and vegan options (OH had fishless fish fillets, i might have them next time, save on picking out any bones)
Then Sat we got an Indian takeaway and yesterday we ended up at the same Indian for a meal.
