Brunch out with friends today and warmed up some HM lentil soup from the larder and had that with a M&S crusty roll with lashings of butter!

OH has asked for a roast dinner so there's chicken going in the oven, roasties, some veg of some sort (peas or corn) and yorkshires. Trifle for afters. Went to the local farm shop (it's an assisted employment farm so always buzzing) and bought some of their last butternut squashes - 30p each. I've seen bramley apples bigger which means that one is perfect for the 2 of us! Just topped, tailed and deseeded and then popped in the over with a knob of butter added after about 20 minutes. Truly yummy.
This was a side to the spare rib pork chops I got from our meat guy. Just pan fried those with a bit of soy sauce on them, added a few quartered mushrooms to the pan and then some halved green grapes. I was working on the idea that if I can fry tomatoes then grapes would fry about the same. When the chops were done I put those on the plate, added a big knob of butter to the pan to made a bit of a sauce with the scrapings and the grapes and mushrooms. Really delicious if I say so myself!!

chicken thighs and legs (whatever happened to quarter chickens??) to be done in the oven as I can't be asked to go deal with the bbq today. jacket potatoes too. likely to roast a bit of veg to go with it all.
