I've got the BBC spicy root veg and lentil casserole (link to recipe!)
One of those golden recipes that is:
- Cheap (only need to buy root veg and then there is plenty left for soup!)
- Healthy
- Delicious
- Super easy - I've just shoved everything in the slow cooker, we will have it with flatbreads when back from the gym at 9pm tonight
Lunch is leftover veggie chilli, rice and sliced green beans, currently defrosting on the side. We don't have a microwave so I'll just heat it all up in the pan and eat with a spoon!
That sounds so good! I've bookmarked the recipe page
I got salmon out yesterday then we ended up eating at the Harvester, so it's going to be salmon! I was going to do a tuna pasta one-pot in white sauce, but after a scampi and chips last night, I might go more low calorie and bake it and have rice and veg... :A0 -
Removed frozen slices of Roast Beef from freezer - to go with salad for tonight's meal for me.
OH is having Whoopsied Smoked Haddock from freezer, with some 'past their best' baby potatoes and frozen Green Beans .................. his favourite meal :j!
Nothing to be bought - all from freezer, veg cupboard and fridge :T !0 -
Been painting our bedroom today so something nice and easy for dinner tonight - hm chicken curry from the freezer with rice.0

I've been away for a week and eaten like an absolute beast, so I'm planning on keeping it light for the next few weeks to try and drop the extra poundage!
So tonight's tea is courgetti with a creamy tomato sauce and a couple of apples for afters.0 -

I've got some white sauce and a few veg left from yesterday, so I've found some jacket potatoes from the freezer and I'm going to get a bit of chopped beef or pastrami out and fry some chopped courgettes and mix it up then serve it on the jackets - might need to add a bit more milk (and maybe a bit of cheese) to stretch the sauce0

Good Morning  everybody -
Going to be an in/out/in/out day for me today with church services .................... so will have to be 'lunch' instead of an 'evening meal' for us ....................... don't think OH is going to be too impressed, but he had his favourite meal yesterday, so I'm afraid it's 'tough luck'!!!
Looking forward to spending some time with church friends after the evening service - there's a meal planned, but I'll take a g/f sandwich with me- oh the joys of being 'coeliac'
:rotfl: !
There's some potato wedges sitting in water in the fridge (water has been changed a couple of times), so those will get used up later. I'll do them in the Actifry with paprika/cayenne/chilli sprinkled on them with the oil - some dry-fried Gluten Free Sausages to go with them - and a tub of frozen mushy peas to be defrosted and warmed through.
May need to pop into Lidl, as we've run out of fresh milk - had to open the emergency carton of Long-life stuff this morning. Have got half a tin of dried milk and a small amount of coffee whitener, so might be able to delay the shopping trip - in order to make today another NSD!
I defrosted 3 slices of roast beef yesterday to make a salad, so there's 2 slices left for Roast Beef & Salad Sandwiches for us later this evening.
Hope everybody has a lovely day and is able to spend it 'in the way that they really want to'.0 -
Hello from the other side of moving, I have the kitchen up and running now and have inherited a range master to cook on, beautiful beastie!
For lunch we had filo spinach and cheese pie, a mixed salad, some olives and sun dried tomatoes and a handful of crisps each and our supper tonight is simmering away in the slow cooker in the form of curried lentil soup which we'll have with a scotch morning roll and then a fat free 99 calorie yoghurt.0
