Making vegetarian fajitas for dinner. Plus tomorrow, if I'm not greedy tonight.
Wholemeal wraps reduced to 24p, lidl own brand fajita spice mix, some of the soya mince i bought on special in Tesco and bits and bobs veg wise that need using up.
Half the wraps will go into the freezer for the next lot of fajitas plus half the spice mix will be saved for next time.

Stir fry veg in sweet chilli sauce and rice here (because the veg needed using and I forgot to get any noodles out of the freezer).

I had sausage, oven chips and marrowfat peas last night, simple but delicious, sandwich for lunch and not sure tonight but it will involve the sausages and sugar snap peas goodness knows what else. Not a great deal left in the freezer, did see a bag of frozen dumplings, so maybes mince and dumplings next week? Any other ideas?

  • Yesterday's 'mini-freezer sort out' discovered two chicken leg/thigh quarters hiding at the very back, so brought them out last night to defrost in the F/F.

OH will have one with some HM wedges and I'll have salad with mine. There's just one slice of Whoopsied G/Free Finest Choc Cake left, so that's MINE for afters ;)! OH can have the small tin of Whoopsied (dented tin ;)) Everyday Essential Mandarin Pieces.

I've spotted some Blackberries poking their heads up above our Beech Hedge - IF I can reach them with something, I'll try to pick them later ................... hope they're worth the effort ;)! Better check the remainder of the garden while I'm at it - don't want to miss any others :rotfl:. There's one very lonely looking apple in my fruit basket at the moment - I could cook it up with the Blackberries and use them with some Low-fat Yoghurt - HM Fruit Corner - for desserts tomorrow :j !

Have a good day, everybody !

Could you cut the dumplings in half and use them to make a kind of cobbler top on a casserole?would prob need to let them defrost just enough to be able to cut them.

Great suggestion, kerri gt - that wouldn't have dawned on me. Personally, I can't eat dumplings (due to gluten), but my daughter buys them and I'm sure she'd love this idea.

    I love dumplings too....I'm over once it's made :D

Tonight we had the other vegetation Kiev things (tomato and mozzarella filling, surprinsgly tasty) with some vegetable rice (the retro bright yellow stuff) and I cooked some runner beans too.

Day of two steps forward, one back here...got somevhouse bits we'd been needing to sort...then on the way back the flipping car started making a knocking noise so now that needs sorting  first world problems and all that I guess, just frustrating.

After a busy week at work I really could not face even sticking something in the oven. The local fish and chip shop has reopened after a refit. So husband fetched, fish, chips, peas , curry sauce and buttered roll x 2. £9 60. Well worth it.
