@ Brie Definitely looks like broad beans or Edamame beans to me.
The grain looks like quinoa, Aldi used to do it in pouches, but i haven't seen it in my local for a while
It's easy to cook though.

@JIL wow - and here I assumed it might have been made to order but obviously ordering from Brakes makes sense for a busy restaurant.

OH had bought some lovely huge duck legs from our meat guy and suggested having them with a tin of potatoes. Now if we've paid quality money for quality meat why have it with something nasty (my opinion) like a tin of taters? I suggested new potatoes and he rolled his eyes and so I said I'd get them cooking as he was sorting out the duck. He insisted I do the entire bag, knowing that it would be too much for us. But good cooked potatoes rarely get wasted here and he was eyeing up the leftovers for breakfast, fried with eggs on top.
Alas that didn't happen. So yesterday I suggested I get out the YS spatchcock poussin that was in the freezer for the last month and I'd make potato salad to go with it. And I was very pleased with the result. Just cut the potatoes into quarters and topped with a mix of chives fresh from the garden, mayo, greek yoghurt, lemon juice, salt, pepper and fine herbs. Too much for dinner so there was a little pot left over which was my midday snack today. One of those things that improves with time!!
Tonight he's finally getting the biriani (Sainsbugs) that he's been wanted with a couple of hard boiled eggs on top.

plan tonight was for the biriani but OH has declared he has a cold (wouldn't spice be good??) so will likely have a soup instead. in anticipation of the planned meal I've boiled some eggs so may end up with egg sandwiches.
we cannot stick to a plan……
