@sams247 that sounds nice. I was wondering about doing tonight's salmon in the oven - will need to check if we have a lemon and, if we do, if I'm allowed to use it. Lemon's are normally for OH's G&Ts or other cocktails! Planning on cooking up some courgette from a local farm, and some new potatoes. We haven't been eating many potatoes of late so this little bag of newbies need eating - I'll likely cook them all and we'll have the left overs tomorrow either for breakfast with our eggs or for dinner as a potato salad.

Had lunch out with friends and a cheap £3 add on to my meal was half a roasted chicken. When my meal was served they had forgotten to put the chicken on the plate so when the server rushed over with it on a second plate I asked for it to be put immediately into a takeaway box.
Not a huge chicken but it means that dinner is sorted. OH & I will split it and have some salad with it as well as some sliced cantaloupe and parma ham. Ice cream will follow.

Tea….
I cooked some raw prawns in butter with diced garlic. I added some chopped peppers, some sweetcorn and some fresh tomatoes and scattered in a few peas as I had some left in the freezer looking very sad. I cooked this up and then added it to some rice, mixed it up, drizzled over with some sweet chilli sauce and hey presto.

We had out usual Monday dinner. Jacket potato and salad. Tonight it was served with breaded chicken. I had tuna and egg with mine.

pork chops out of the freezer for this evening. OH said he'd like his with salad. I warned him there are no tomatoes available and he doesn't mind (I do!!) And he said he wouldn't mind if I prefer to have a jacket potato with mine. Well I would but we have no potatoes. Do I do rice? Hmmmmm……
On the tomato front - we don't have any as I didn't buy any the other day as we had so many home grown ones coming on. But we finished the ripe ones last evening and all the ones on my 4 plants are mostly green with just 3 barely starting to turn red. Likely they'll be ready when we're away on the weekend…..I've a friend coming to water the garden so will tell him to take any that need immediate picking. I'll call it his birthday present.

wondering if I should ask OH what he'd like for dinner or simply tell him? given that it's likely me that will be doing the doing. My choice is a salad topped with fresh pears and camembert. Maybe some melon. There's some sliced of ham in the fridge as well as a piece of grilled salmon that I didn't have for breakfast so he can add those if he likes.
need to co-ordinate things a bit differently tonight so we can see the eclipse and then the meteor shower. the skies are clear (when did we last have a proper rain? May? April??) and given the heat I'll be eating outside in any case.

Cold left over grilled salmon with potato salad for me, maybe a garden tomato. Him in the other room has a pork pie as well as some lettuce and tomato if he wants it. I may allow him a forkful of the potato salad if he behaves.
Tomorrow we're at a hotel in Berkshire for the weekend so looking forward to just having to decide what we'd like and not have to fuss with kitchens or washing up. But now I need to go an soak the garden so things don't keel over when we're away.

had a truly lovely lunch out today on our way home from our weekend away.
stopped at the always as lovely Crown at Blandford Forum and got some lunch. OH had a lovely burger and I had the harisa boneless half a chicken with a grain salad. Absolutely stunning. Too much for lunch so as soon as I finish typing here I'll be finishing it off while watching some carp on TC.
Problem for me is what's in the grain salad. I'll likely try to contact the hotel and ask but what's your opinion? I know there's tomato, pepper, I think mustard seed, possibly sprouting alfalfa. I didn't spot any obvious grains, no cous cous etc. And what I thought were pumpkin seeds have after a couple of hours in damp fridge conditions expanded to look like broad beans!!! It had a lovely dressing too but I'll leave you to make suggestions as to what this actually is and what I can do to recreate it as it was lush!!!
